BUT I did make an Angel collection that you can revisit any time. :)

Oooh, I finally got to see you reacting to Angel the Series. How lovely! And you're already intrigued! If by the end of this season you're not fully committed, I'll be surprised. But yes, there are still (quite) a few rocks to break through... Not all episodes are made equally good in this season. But we'll get there. In the end, Angel ends up being a series every bit as engaging as Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Or at least that's my $.025 (with inflation).

Billy Dee Williams was once a spokesperson for Colt 45, which famously came in a 40oz bottle. Hence why Doyle is holding a 40 wrapped in a brown paper bag in the next scene.

Also, the vamps were green in this pilot because they were trying a new makeup artist, they quickly went back to the vamp look established in Buffy. Doyle will grow on you till your heart breaks, trust me....

2025-03-29 03:11:27 +0000 UTCI don't think the quality of Angel is as consistent as Buffy and personally i don't think the best of Angel ever quite reaches the same level as the best of Buffy. But it has its own unique qualities that make it worthwhile. I do think that watching it enriches the experience of watching Buffy, especially the overlapping seasons and crossover episodes. You get character development and storyline completeness you wouldn't get otherwise. If you can possibly time your watches to make sure you see the crossover episodes in order that will really help.

2025-03-28 20:35:30 +0000 UTCFor the first season, it is an absolute must that you watch Angel season 1 with Buffy season 4 because there are crossovers. I agree that Angel isn’t as good as Buffy, but for the most part, I still like it.

Gonna have to dig out my DVDs to watch along with you :-) I personally think that Angel is a kinda boring character on Buffy, but on his own show he actually gets to have a personality! I really hope you enjoy this first season. IMO the show gets WAY better in seasons 2 and 3 but there is still a lot of fun to be had while the show finds its footing!
