ANIMATED POLL

Now y'all know I LOVEEE a good Disney princess movie and some animation - which we actually don't have a lot of on the channel (other than Secret of Nihm & Encanto).

Also it's more cartoon/not real animation movies - not like.. live action-y animation, if that makes sense.

So another birthday poll for animation films! I think it's all different genres but let's see what wins! (also I know it's a lot of choices and I know I'm a grown ass woman and if you got anything bad to say... I hope you wet the bed tonight)

Comments

Was kinda hoping "Your Name" would be here, because it's great. Or "Konosuba:Village of Crimson Demons" because starting 4 chapters in would be wild.

Huemon Nottabear

Disney isn't the end all be all of animation. Try dipping your toe in some cult classics like The Last Unicorn, Heavy Metal, Wizards, American Pop, and Rock and Rule.

J M

Absolutely!

Julie Schwartz

It’s not going to win this one, but at some point she needs to watch Sausage Party, preferably elevated. 🤣😂🤣

Jim Altman

The Lego movie and Sausage party are up your alley.

Capri Zonica

I need yall do to me this solid and pull together to get El Dorado to win! PLEASE! lol! It's an underrate classic, hysterical, beautiful, and heart warming. I think she would love it!

Andrea Guay Colpitts

I think that they just didn't know how to market it properly, which is why it didn't perform as well in theaters as it should have, but I agree that it was good and that Ashleigh should watch it.

SonicKing2004

True. I liked Lego Batman more than Lego Movie 2. (Though I did still enjoy Lego Movie 2.) And isn't Will Arnett one of Ashleigh's future ex-husbands?

Steve Friedman

True. But a search shows many reactions for this movie, at least, if not other for others from Japan. It's not so closely guarded as the Studio Ghibli library.

Dan T

Also, I had forgotten the name of it until you pointed out the little girl, but I think that No Deposit, No Return would be a good movie for Ashleigh to watch.

SonicKing2004

That's "Condorman", darn autocorrect!

SonicKing2004

Interesting. BTW, what I meant to say was "Conforman", Lol. 🤣

SonicKing2004

Sausage Party is so funny!

KevinTheVHSLover

Please God coco it's amazing!

Missy Schmader

Witch Mountain might be intriguing to her if she gets word that the little girl is Paris Hilton's aunt.

Kenton Kruger

There are very solid other choices on here, plus Sausage Party pulls in the "not a 'kids' movie" crowd.

Kenton Kruger

Absolutely. Also the Witch Mountain movies, That Darn Cat, the Cat from Outer Space, Conforman, and definitely The Black Hole.

SonicKing2004

Oh yes! Franchise the lego movies!! I love that idea!

ssb031

I thought the same of the Batman one, but it's HILARIOUS!

ssb031

yes! and Happy Feet! Also, Madagascar 1-3 and then The Penguins of Madagascar

ssb031

yes! My FAVORITE book as a kid! It should be the OG one and not a remake for sure.

ssb031

yeah a LOT of parents made that mistake and regretted it!!

ssb031

I think that's one of the only older Disney movies I haven't watched. We should have her really go in the Disney vault for some of the old live-action ones, like Bedknobs & Broomsticks, The Absent-Minded Professor, The Apple Dumpling Gang, Pollyanna and The Parent Trap!! Oh and of course the Herbie movies!

ssb031

UGH nooooooo.. I know I say this a LOT, but this was a super hard choice! I think you'll like all of them. So you may want to watch and put the losers in the vault! You are going to DIE when/if you watch Sausage Party. A lot of people thought it was a kids movie... it is NOT! LOL. Your editor will have a good time with that one (like they did on Deadpool & Wolverine- side note, good on them for covering up and editing around all the raunchy-ness in it, we all know that couldn't have been easy!)

ssb031

I’m afraid after your Gambit comments during your wolverine and Deadpool reaction I need you to watch X-men 97

Mune_Lite

Sausage Party is above Kung Fu Panda?

Jose Robles

Coco could also be a November movie, since it's technically not a Halloween movie, but a Day of the Dead movie, primarily celebrated on November 1st and 2nd, But I agree it would be a good fit for Hallobeans.

Jason Espinoza

Aww! Yeah, I've seen The Wild Robot break nearly everyone who reacts to it. There are at least two parts where I cry on every watch-through. What's kind of funny about this film is that, when I saw the poster more than six months ago, it didn't interest me. I had never heard of the film before that, and I didn't think I'd like it. Then a few months back, I watched it, and boy, was I wrong. I've now watched every reaction to it I can get my hands on, and I've seen it at least ten times on my own. It's ridiculous how good that movie is.

Raven Dark

Ahhh! Okay - I don't think I've even seen those... :D I was thinking the ones that take place "between" the movies

Michael McSwiney

Now you have finished series 3 of buffy you have to know to watch series 4 and angel series 1 at the same time because of crossover episodes

Adam and Rachel white

I saw The Wild Robot in a completely empty theater, went in totally blind, and an employee came in I think to see if anyone was even there, and he just sees me openly weeping by myself in the very back row lmao, what a great movie

JC

"Yellow Submarine"......STONED! Like when you did "2001"! (both movies are from 1968.....no coincidence!)

Toc

All good choices but if you loved Encanto then Coco is the way to go!

EJN

If that's the case then Spirited Away should absolutely be in the poll.

Elliot Nesterman

I can’t believe a movie as good as King Fu Panda is only at 10%.

Bill Trumpler

I think that for a future reaction you should watch Treasure Planet. Even though it bombed in theaters it developed a cult following & probably only didn't do well due to when it released.

SonicKing2004

I think that they're thinking of The Seven Realms, which takes place in the modern era long after the movies.

SonicKing2004

One of these things is not like the others. lol.

Susan AKA Maisy13(YT) AKA Susan_is_still_in_progress (threads,IG)

Rango is amazing. It will never win a poll, but it is amazing and you should watch it on your time if you don't watch it for this. Unique to Rango, when they recorded the actors they actually had them act out the scenes and perform with one another, unlike most animated films where the actors perform on their own or in small groups in a studio.

kirstone mmm

All Dogs Go to Heaven An American Tail The Flight of Dragons Iron Giant The Last Unicorn Madagascar Megamind The Hobbit (1977)

Jason Vaillancourt

“THE IRON GIANT” IS A GREAT UNDERRATED ANIMATED MOVIE, I THINK YOUD REALLY ENJOY IT. “AN AMERICAN TAIL” AS ALSO A GREAT FILM

jonny miller

Anthony. ... Ah... . Just did a quick Google and yep ... got it!

Sunlit_Soul

Well you're half right about Sausage Party, it IS an animated movie, but it's definitely not something that someone under 18 should be watching.

Anthony

South Park Bigger Longer and Uncut or Beavis and Butthead Do America would be fun.

Tony Rossell

Not true. Dasha Reacts has a reaction to Sausage Party on her channel. It's been up for about 6 months now with no issues

Tony Rossell

'Coco' would be great for Hallobeans. Apart from that the votes align with the order I'd watch them in - with the exception of Kung Fu Panda and Sausage Party. Haven't seen Sausage Party, sounds like it's not an animated movie more like something 18+ should be watching. ;)

Sunlit_Soul

An American tail 1986 ❤️

Paineinyourblank

Going to keep asking for Balto like The Thomas Crown Affair

Angie C

It's not Disney, it's Dreamworks, but I think you would absolutely love The Wild Robot. Great voice acting, great story, fantastic animation, and awesome music. It's perfect for you, Ashleigh. If I may advise, don't look at the posters or the trailers, though, because it'll be more fun going in blind, and they would give away too much.

Raven Dark

She would love Sausage Party for multiple reasons, but I'm disappointed The Iron Giant isn't on here.

Paul Stelter

great movie. A lot of anime movies have a harder time with copyright

Mark Finley

It's not in the kiddo category of animation, but I promise you would not regret watching Your Name (2016), also known as Kimi no Na wa. Just don't go telling people that "I was googling your name" because it won't exactly sound movie-related.

Dan T

My Neighbor Totoro

purplehaaze bee

it is *possible* that is among the movies she's already seen, I don't know for sure, but Disney animated movies are the most likely for her to have already watched before the channel

Tyler Foster

As others have said, there was a period early on in YouTube reaction content where Ghibli not only issued copyright strikes instead of claims (penalizing the channel), but they famously issued three strikes in one go on VKunia and her channel was deleted overnight with no chance of appeal. (She rebuilt.) That said, in recent years, Ghibli seems to have relaxed their approach. I know the channel Cinema Therapy has or had Totoro up, Cinebinge recently posted Grave of the Fireflies, and The Normies did a whole series, although I don't know whether or not edits were published (I think at least one was). I still would be iffy on going straight for it because who knows if they're still considering striking, but hopefully at least one can get a Patreon exclusive reaction at some point.

Tyler Foster

@JC she probably hasn't heard enough about it for it to have lodged in her memory.

Tyler Foster

It seems that Ghibli has relaxed their initial copyright anxiousness, although I still would not confidently suggest YouTube edits. But Cinebinge recently launched a reaction for Grave of the Fireflies, and I believe The Normies has done an entire Ghibli series.

Tyler Foster

Ghost in the Shell, Akira come to mind. They are classics.

Eric

Anything Aardman.

Elliot Nesterman

The Debbie Reynolds version was the first movie I ever saw in a Theater. Never seen the new one.

Curtis Martin

Chicken Run!

Wally Hartshorn

Well, it certainly seems like nobody has come at you for an animation poll. If anything, it seems this should be a regular option for quite a while. Of course that's a bit of a loaded suggestion for me to say since my two favorites on this poll are currently running 2 and 3...

Kenton Kruger

"Chicken Run" (2000) "Todd McFarlane's Spawn" (1997) "Todd McFarlane's Spawn 2" (1998) "Todd McFarlane's Spawn 3" (1999) "Flushed Away" (2006) "Venus Wars" (1989)

JAKH

There are a few that could actually be Franchise Friday poll options, So Imma vote for the one that doesn’t have a big franchise, and are also great for you to react to.

Jalal Marian

I feel like Iron Giant would win if it was on here. I'm kinda surprised Lego Movie isn't winning.

Joe Blankenship

"The Iron Giant" is a good one to add to the list for future polls..

Evening Star

@Blu, agreed that "Hoodwinked" didn't look as good as animated films from other studios, but yes, the story and script were good. However, I thought what really stood out were the awesome voice performances. In particular, Patrick Warburton just crushed it as the wolf.

W. Randy Hoffman

Why ever not? It is an amazing series...

Michael McSwiney

Noooo

Blu

That would be a lovely Spring movie.

Blu

Isle of Dogs, too.

Blu

I used to do fan paintings based on it in my teens & 20's

Blu

yes.

Blu

Agreed.

Blu

I would recommend Charlotte's Web

Omar Anzaldua

YouTube algorithm will not compute.

Blu

Hoodwinked looked clunky when it came out..it had a good script...it just looked unfinished. I absolutely agree about Kubo & the Two Strings. The credits and post were amazing

Blu

Heavy metal is a good animated movie

Jason Register

She will love Toothless, and the voice cast of HTTYD, heck... Stoic may join her future husband's list...

Jerome Davis

Only 10% of a Sausage? ☹️ But yah...YouTube's algorithm would manifest like The Ring and devour any edit attempts. But maybe for just Patreon?

Blu

Road to el Dorado is hilarious!

Chelsea

Im sad that Coco is too far behind dragon to win. Its such a beautiful movie

Michelle LaMar

One of my teachers loved unicorns and I recommended it to her, which she never heard of it before. When she got to watching it, she loved it.

PaNoWa

"Hoodwinked" was a hoot!

PaNoWa

I would love to see Ashleigh react to a classic animated film, "Akira" (1988).

PaNoWa

Over the Hedge, for sure!

Kelly W. Peavey

Part of me wants to see her watch Sausage Party so we can collectively watch her mind implode.

Terrance Piette

How to Train Your Dragon... ... and you HAVE to watch the cartoon series between the films as well...

Michael McSwiney

Underseen and underrated, Rango is great.

Matthew Vandiver

I hope she watches *all* of these eventually, plus many more, including underrated films such as "Surf's Up", "Hoodwinked", "Over the Hedge", and "Kubo and the Two Strings".

W. Randy Hoffman

I voted for Lego Movie because it was the most *unexpectedly* good movie on the list. Before it came out everyone assumed it was a cynical cash grab, but then it turned out to have heart, a genuinely moving story to tell, and some real unexpected twists. But Coco and How to Train Your Dragon are also great as classic kids movies that adults can enjoy. Even though Sausage Party is animated, it doesn't really belong on the same list as the rest. It's a lot of F'd up humor that's best experienced while elevated. And definitely not something to watch with your kids or grandma. (Not that there's anything wrong with that - I did enjoy it.)

Steve Friedman

Maaayyybe. But Lego Movie is just so perfect. I mean, Everything is Awesome! And in how many movies do you get to actually meet The Man Upstairs?

Curtis Martin

Must second Flow - I feel that it was the best animated film of last year and so different from the traditional Disney/Pixar/DreamWorks films we see. I loved Inside Out 2 and The Wild Robot but Flow was something special. Can I also suggest that Ashleigh treat herself and watch Best in Show? This film has so many marks of a movie that she would love and it is a shame she has not seen it yet. Please, one of her closest fans, please encourage her to watch this. I think it would be a great birthday present to herself. She loves the actors in it and she enjoys mockumentaries plus plenty of fur babies. I work almost every Sunday night so I can't join the live chats but I am hoping that the regulars encourage her to add this to a poll or as a must see for her. I felt the same way about Defending Your Life and Singin' in the Rain and she loved those - I am sure I am right about Best in Show too.

Cristina Collins-Armstrong

Coco is such a beautiful movie. ♡

Caroline Cocozza

I think Lego batman is better than the Lego movie

stinky la rue

Studio Ghibli will take the channel down. No joke. 😢

Curtis Martin

It seems as jf Dragon is winning, which is fine. But you SIMPLY MUST see the Lego movie. In fact, Lego, Lego 2 and Lego Batman would comprise a more than worthy franchise. No one is ever ready for how good the Lego movie is.

Curtis Martin

There are animated films intended primarily for an adult audience. And no, I don't mean animated porn. Outside the work of Studio Ghibli (which always issues copyright blocks), two of the best are "The Triplets of Belleville" (2003) and "Fantastic Planet" (1973). "The Triplets of Belleville," a thoroughly delightful satire/adventure/comedy, was nominated for two Oscars: Best Music, Original Song and Best Animated Feature. "Fantastic Planet" was nominated for the Palme d'Or and won the Grand Prix Special Jury Prize at Cannes. In 2016 Rolling Stone rated it the 36th greatest animated movie ever.

Elliot Nesterman

I want How to Train Your Dragon, Road to El Dorado, and Kung Fu Panda to win lol

StephanieAnn0919

Man, The Last Unicorn (1982) is such a good movie. Since i was little, my whole family watches it together each new years eve.

Leeland

Flow as an off poll suggestion

Renee Lishka

Sausage Party! Only heard things, but seems like it’d make for one hilarious episode

Zombie

I have been asking for The Last Unicorn FOREVER. It needs to happen.

Cheryl C

I am torn between Coco and Lego Movie, I think I will flip a coin.

Cheryl C

I’m emotionally constipated so if you watch COCO I can release some of that so COCO!!!!!!

Glen Ova

I voted sausage party, but really I’m just stirring the pot

Haley JoAnna

Ashleigh has said that Studio Ghibli gets a lot of copyright problems and becomes a big mess!

Meredith Shivers

There's some good ones on this poll. I chose How To Train Your Dragon because it's one of my favorite animated movies I've ever seen. However, there's also a few other animated movies I'd recommend going on polls for the future. They're so good, and I think they would make for great reactions: -Heavy Metal (1981) -The Last Unicorn (1982) -An American Tail (1986) -The Land Before Time (1988) -All Dogs Go to Heaven (1989) -Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (1993) -Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit (2005) -The Super Mario Bros. Movie (2023) -Transformers One (2024) -The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie (2025)

Jeb Manning

Too many good ones. You must come back to this poll!

Robert Miller

I agree that some Ghibli would be great, but didn’t Vkunia get a bunch of Ghibli reactions copyright striked and taken down a few years ago?

Justin Kim

YES!! W&G for Hallowbeans!

Angela Munoz

Coco is PHENOMENAL. I love that movie. But Lego Movie and HTTYD are both great as well.

Angela Munoz

I'm shocked that isn't on the list, she would LOVE Flow

JC

I chose Sausage Party, ha ha.

David McMullen

It was either Sausage Party or Lego Movie for me. I went with Sausage Party aka Fever Dream with Food.

Darrell Minor

Went with Coco because I want to break her, but this is such a tough list that I think she’ll enjoy them all regardless.

Megan Jackson

I will happily be the lone supporter of Rango. My absolute favourite.

Robert Woods

Guys - The Lego Movie over Coco, seriously? Though I do kinda want to mess with her and choose Sausage Party... Who told her to watch that? Lol

Jassell B

You need to watch Flow!! 😁

Rebecca Karsner

I had hoped that when the time came to pick an animated movie, that at least one Studio Ghibli movie would have made the poll. I still think that Ashleigh should watch The Cat Returns. It's a great movie, with great actors voicing the English language version, plus there are cats.

Douglas

I'll see you on the hill!

Charity Konusser (the chonus)

You can change your vote at any time. (I'm all for HtTYD, but you should know that you can change)

Charity Konusser (the chonus)

Agreed

Charity Konusser (the chonus)

Voted for Coco 'cause we may as well break her for her birthday. 🤷

Nestor Custodio

woo! been waiting for this! Voted for Coco.

Linh Nguyen

Thumb wiggled back and forth between Coco and HtTYD... tiniest edge goes to Dragon

Michael Tocci

Sausage party is very Ashleigh

Just Jayy1

Hope to see An American Tail and The Last Unicorn on a future animated poll.

Brian Booher

oh man, I can only choose one?! It's so hard to choose...

Neil Silverman

So many great choices!!

Kayla Fehribach

Rango because I love me some Johnny Depp. ❤️‍🔥 Plus, it's really good.

Lynette Cummins

In case Sausage Party wins, it would be helpful if you were...elevated. :)

Shaun Stacy

You would not be alone.

PieHard13

How To Train Your Dragon. Best trilogy and tv series ever.

Kelly Jo

The Sausage Party temptation was high but in the end I couldn't miss the chance for The Lego Movie. Such a classic

Paflad

I always suggest ‘Wallace and Grommit curse of the were rabbit’ during Hallowbeans but it works here too.

nycDawn

Actually all of these are good choices IMHO with the exception of Sausage Party, which I have no opinion on, but I feel like you might enjoy How to Train Your Dragon the most. Accordingly you should watch all four of the movies as well as the main television series: Riders of Berk, Defenders of Berk, and Race to the Edge, all of which take place in between the first and second movies. What's more is that those series are of much better quality all around than most other spin-off series that usually are just made as cash grabs based on popular franchises, so it's definitely worth your time.

SonicKing2004

I wish I could vote for How to Train Your Dragon AND Coco but I voted for the former (before I saw Coco....).

Kimberly

Definitely COCO (2017). It’s a beautiful story, has wonderful music, very engaging characters, incredible animation, and is deeply moving. It’s the best choice on this list.

Joe “Retroclassic” Pinney

Please tell me that all of these will be watched on your channel at some point. Would love for you to see all of them

Derek

Sausage party will prove your not a grown ass woman but will be after watching it

mike baker

Rango is not only the best movie on this list, but would think people would understand that it would create the absolute best reaction video.

Graham Martin

Part of me wants to vote for Sausage Party just because it's frigging terrible.

Chris Crowther

The Fantastic Mr. Fox is a classic!

James Sharp

The Lego Movie was totally robbed at the Oscars! Prove me wrong.

James Sharp

When I saw the title of the poll, I got really excited about voting for The Iron Giant. Still, lots of great options here.

Lynnetta

I really wish you would watch Marcel the Shell with Shoes On. It’s SUCH a good stop motion movie.

Todd Rush

Kinda bummed The Last Unicorn isn't listed.

Maria Yarber

Such a great movie!

Lynnetta

All are worth seeing, of course. I think COCO (2017) will most likely elicit tears from Ashleigh. KUNG FU PANDA (2008) was what I almost voted for, because I've loved all of those. I voted for HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON (2010), because... as a cinematic trilogy, I think it works best, overall.

AuntVes

HtTYD is so good, but Coco is a truly special movie. That is so tough to choose between those two.

Charlie Heist

"Sausage Party" 🥒🌭🍆 just SCREAMS "This is an Ashleigh movie" 😎

Wally

Disappointed emperor's new new groove isn't in on here.

Mark Finley

I wish I could vote for Rango, Coco, and Kung Fu Panda at the same time.

Aldo Gonzales

The Road to El Dorado is a must see and I will die on this hill.

Sentinel Wolf

My vote was How to Train Your Dragon but I do think Sausage Party is one that "Elevated Ashleigh" should watch 😜

Kelly Hadley

Wish this poll had Fantastic Mr. Fox on it. I'm pretty indifferent to LEGO Movie BUT if it gets us to LEGO Batman, that will be great.

Tyler Foster

Sausage party would be hilarious - but if we do HTTYD, we might get 3 movies out of it!

Mastervodo

I ran to the poll to vote for El Dorado and I’m so bummed it’s not at the top. It would be hilarious to watch her watch

Kate Bosworth

Hard to choose, I want to make her cry, but I also want her to have a hell of a time, Coco is too much for a birthday, How to train your Dragon, it will open a whole new universe.

Brian

It's going to be how to train your dragon or the LEGO movie. The rest are good but they are great

nateman010276

That is very hard to choose, you gave too many good options! Lol

Vicki

I love road to el dorado. It’s technically Disney now but have you seen Anastasia? That’s my favorite animated princess movie lol

Jordan Wyant

Rango is soooooo damn good!

Joshua Chap

Only 7 choices?

Goatllama

God. If Sausage Party gets picked, editing Ashleigh is going to quit lol

Desi Jeffers

Cocoooooo

Melissa C

One of these is not like the others lol.

Collinson

I really want to witness you watching Sausage Party🤣

Laura Campbell

Great options in here, but I'm going with How to Train your Dragon because its so great. I also think you will LOVE Coco.

Kristen

Love the Road to El Dorado! Great music, fun characters, love how it looks, etc.!

RationallySassy

Damn; so many good options here

Mike G. M.
