2025-01-26 06:09:01 +0000 UTCHarold and Maude is the best film on this list by far. A true cult classic and one of the best sound tracks ever put to film. Unfortunately, I don't think enough of Ashley's viewers have seen it to vote for it so I went with the Thomas Crown Affair because we all know how much Ashley loves heist movies.

2025-01-26 00:57:30 +0000 UTCI'm not sure I like these type of polls. I reckon you should be able to go "1, 2, and 3" or number them all where 1 is your first preference et cetera. AND... then potentially Ashleigh could watch the options either top 3 or all. Still think 1998 'Sliding Doors' with Gwenneth Paltrow, John Hannah is one to watch for Valentine's day. or the 2000 'Chocolat'. Anyway, any on the poll are good.

Lynette Cummins
2025-01-25 20:47:27 +0000 UTCI put my vote in for Say Anything, because it's one of those "Everyone's seen it" movies that I'm surprised Ashleigh didn't watch on the channel years ago. But I do think she'll really enjoy Thomas Crown, given how much she liked the Oceans movies. And possibly add Pierce Brosnan to her list of future ex-husbands.

2025-01-25 20:33:13 +0000 UTCI do really like Starman because of the deer scene. But it must come after the Thomas Crown Affair for me.

2025-01-25 16:44:14 +0000 UTCThere are no losers in this list. Goodbye Girl is a true must-see classic. Say Anything gets referenced everywhere. But I've been pimping Only The Lonely for years so I voted for that.
N1nth Sh4dow
2025-01-25 16:36:17 +0000 UTCI keep suggesting it, but it loses polls. I suspect that's simply because it's not well-known. It wasn't big at the box office, and many of Ashleigh's followers simply have never seen it or heard of it. I'll say this: the climactic scene pays off all the breadcrumbs dropped previously, and staged so that there's a crescendo to the big moment. It's very well made, and Ashleigh will LOVE it. Maybe it can survive on a loser's poll. Or maybe we need a poll of movies no one's ever seen... It would make MMM a unique channel, doing obscure (but great) movies.
N1nth Sh4dow
2025-01-25 16:28:47 +0000 UTCI really wish Only the Lonely was getting the props it should. One of Ashleigh's favorite actors playing a wonderfully sweet off beat rom com character, what else do you need :)

2025-01-25 15:18:53 +0000 UTCI am still rooting for Alfred Hitchcockβs Vertigo. I wish I could make it out to be an underdog by saying it is an underrated movie, but it is not: Sight and Sound magazine. Rated it as the best movie of all time. My reason for continually pushing the movie is that I really want to see the look on your face at the big reveal in that movie.
Joseph Stevenson
2025-01-25 15:17:10 +0000 UTCThere are so many good ones up there, Ashleigh! π₯° HAROLD AND MAUDE (1971) is the most unique and the one that will sit with you the longest. THE GOODBYE GIRL (1977) has an actor that you love as one of the leads... written by the remarkable Neil Simon. Once you notice Mr. Simon's style, you'll want to see all his stuff, usually plays adapted into movies, but a few original screenplays. STARMAN (1984) is great, too, and might appeal to the kid in you, it certainly did to young me. The thing that sucks about polls is the best ones might never be chosen, because the best ones are niche.
