February Franchise Friday

ohhh a 3 F alliteration??? my whole body is tingling.

PAY ATTENTION BECAUSE one of these choices is full of SEQUALS to different movies - most of which only have 2 films in them (which I just learned is called a duology 🤓)

I thought that might be a cool way of finishing up some of these movies that I've left hanging. But other than that - it's full franchises.

Let me know what you think of the mix and match!

Comments

Those movies are MADE for Ashleigh! I think she did Spinal Tap back in the day? She would especially like the more modern ones.

Lionbarber

Just as a quick sidebar - I'd LOVE Ashleigh to consider A Christopher Guest Mockumentary franchise for Fridays. That includes For Your Consideration, Mascots, Best In Show, A Mighty Wind, and Waiting for Guffman. Just a thought - I think she would find them pretty delightful. 😁

Renee MeowMeow Beans

UGH.. god.. pleeeeese not John Wick. They're dumb! The firefights are completely unrealistic. They're just BLECH!!!

ssb031

Same!

ssb031

All of the above!!!!!

CinWin

I really hope that we eventually finish the James Bond franchise including the Battle of the Bonds from 1983. The Dirty Harry franchise because Clint Eastwood is getting up in years and you WILL feel lucky. The Road pictures starring Bing Crosby and Bob Hope. Finally the Sherlock Holmes franchise which spans almost 100 years, about forty films and at least three television series!

karl balstad

The Bourne movies are SO good! Full of action and intrigue. I think you'll really like them. It was a hard choice between these (except for John Wick. I think those are just awful). I almost voted for the multi option. I'd love to see you finish those!

ssb031

mulhalland drive is on channel

Ashleigh Burton

I think we need a poll... there are pros and cons to showing her anything he did.

TravizzivarT

I actually love all of these options! I voted for John Wick because Keanu Reeves has been my future husband since Bill & Ted, but I'm eager to watch all of these with Ashleigh. I hope all of these options will be on polls until we get to all of them 😁

Vicious Trollop

With the passing of David Lynch today I suggest a memoral watch of either Mulholland Drive, Blue Velvet, or Eraserhead.

Elliot Nesterman

Don't forget to include "Major League" to honor the passing of Bob Uecker.

Bruce R Wilson

We've got to put a David Lynch film on her schedule now. She's already seen Mulholland Drive, so where do we go - Blue Velvet? Maybe something more grounded like The Elephant Man? Or should we push for Twin Peaks for the next TV show?

Charity Konusser (the chonus)

I agree, but it is imperative that the 1966 Batman movie is included

Ian Harrison

Wha?? You've just made my day!

Stephanie Chapman

I would like to see her take on the rest of the Batman and Superman movies this year

James

True. I hate it when people don't understand that something being "like" something is monodirectional. An older thing is never like a new thing. It's not possible for an old stunt to copy a new stunt which doesn't exist yet. New things, if not a completely unique idea, are recreations of old things. Unless a filmmaker is a genus like Lucas, Spielberg or Nolan for example, filmmakers mostly do things inspired by parts in films they're already familiar with. And even they still often were inspired by old war films, etc and put a twist on it.

YodatheHobbit

Enough Bond for a while. And it'll take a while to get through Bourne and Wick too. They're all films about one badass fighter/spy type person, and that can get dull when the reactions come out so consistently. Sometimes being in the mood for a single genre can be temporary. They're fun and I love some of them, but it removes the ability to watch more variety of films too much. We already had a long amount of time where they were regular. We only JUST got the Oceans movies out of the way to have room for more variety of different duo films. Let's have a good amount of time where those who aren't interested in watching specific things don't have to skip a reaction day for weeks.

YodatheHobbit

👏

YodatheHobbit

Fabulous feature film franchises for Friday female fans.

fanofactionflicks

I hope you do some more Bond movies, there are so many things that they were the first to do.... It always hurts a bit when people have seen newer movies first and when they see something they recognize from a recent movie done in a Bond flick 40 years ago they go "ah this is just like that recent movie" where it's actually the other way around lol.

davidov

Both. Starting with the Robert Wise film from 1979 (which I think would be Ashleigh's "Dr. No". Not her favorite, but she'll love the others), on to the Next Generation films to the J. J. Abrams reboots. She's done Star Wars, and she loved Galaxy Quest. Just seems natural.

James Sharp

Finish the freaking Bond movies. Pretty please with a cherry on top?

Richard Stegman Jr.

I tried to watch the first Wick movie a few years ago, but it was very soon after a national tragedy involving firearms, so watching a movie like John Wick just made me feel really icky. Maybe this time will be better.

JC

I know you were gifted “noises off” in the very first live unboxing. It’s my favorite movie. I literally pissed myself in 6th grade laughing at this and I hadn’t even started smoking weed yet. Lots of big stars. Plus it’s a theater kid nostalgia. (Aka weedmaven)

Malya Donoff

Original or Remake, or both?

Meredith Shivers

She said that she did, she just hasn’t put the video up yet.

Meredith Shivers

More 80s and 90s, less film series and TV shows please. And please watch Working Girl !

Stephanie Chapman

Aww I know it's not gonna win, but The Mighty Ducks trilogy has a special place in my heart. I hope you'll watch them eventually.

Clay W

I don’t know about John Wick, I love the movie but I don’t want to traumatize Ashleigh

Thomas

Solid list top to bottom. Can keep all of these coming back.

Chris

VERY MUCH on my radar!

Ashleigh Burton

never too early for hallobeans

Ashleigh Burton

I never thought of that. That’s a good point. I’ll change my vote. :)

Cal

I wanna see you keep watching James Bond.

Jimazoid

Best car chase is in Boune 2.

Lynette Cummins

You had me at Airplane 2.

Wendy Smith

He absolutely is.

Lynette Cummins

John Wick is cool, but I'm a James Bond girl through and through. I want to get Ashleigh to Pierce and Daniel. ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥 Also, love the mix & match. It gets a bunch done in one month. Win win.

Lynette Cummins

Ugh Jurassic Park didn’t make the cut. I’ve never seen the Wick films so here’s hoping we can get back to some Bond movies!

EJN

Is Keanu a future ex husband or naaahhh?? Lmao!

Gio Vidrio

You still need to do The Four Musketeers which is the second part of the story.

Bill Bevins

I’d love for her to do *28 Weeks Later*, but *John Wick* and *Bourne* I think she’d just enjoy more. And just throwing this out there—*Exorcist 3* for the next Hallowbeans, please. I know it’s both early and late for that, but I’m just putting it out there. :)

Cal

Hunger Games! I'll keep saying it until it's on another poll. 😉

Cass&Jason

Well, we do have a John Wick spinoff later this year…

Aldo Gonzales

Still no Star Trek. 🫤

James Sharp

Absolutely agree

Mike Briones

Wick is definitely Borne influenced.

Joe Blankenship

Please do bicentennial man. Robin Williams at his finest

ROBERT T PODLASKI

They should be seen before starting the wick films. imo

Kenn E Wayne

Easiest choice ever.

Jaren

Idk if Bourne will win but it's finally on the poll so that's a win for me 🙌
