February Poll

It's already time to start looking ahead for some lovey-dovey movies in February.

I love how excited you all have been about week early access! It makes me so happy and, for once in my life, I actually feel like I'm working ahead.

ALSO I've officially started multi streaming on Tuesdays/Thursday from 3pm - 7pm CST on TWITCH and my SECOND YOUTUBE CHANNEL!

Pick your FAVORITE and a new Franchise Friday poll will be rolling out Thursday!

Comments

I would LOVE to see you react to "The Secret Life of Bees" feat. Alicia Keys, Jennifer Hudson, Dakota Fanning, Queen Latifah! Such a good story about love and moving on.

Matthew Fisher

I see y'all are really pimpin' the Shakespeare movie. (10 Things is a take on Bill's "The Taming of the Shrew"...) There are so many great movies for St. Valentine's Day that any poll is going to have nothing but winners. (Except "The Notebook". Ashleigh has been watching enough great movies that this one is just not going to do it for her. It's a 2 or 3 on her scale.)

N1nth Sh4dow

I’ll add a vote for French Kiss.

Mark Hanley

Late suggestion for the "lovey-doveys" - "My Best Friend's Wedding."

Cindy Byrne

She’s already seen “Bring it On”.

Meredith Shivers

Yall some soulless people voting for 10 Things over Say Anything

Anais Hilator

Since 10 things won, there are follow up movies you must watch, she’s all that, bring it on, varsity blues, never been kissed, and cruel intentions. All to get ready for one other movie.

Kenn E Wayne

I'm going to suggest four old chestnuts that I'm certain you will like. Hatari! A John Wayne romcom set in Africa with baby elephants. The Big Broadcast of 1938 starring Bob Hope singing Thanks For The Memories for the first time. The Philadelphia Story starring Katherine Hepburn, Cary Grant and Jimmy Stewart. Enough said there. Finally Houseboat starring Cary Grant and Sophia Loren because when she dies you will do a poll for her and I have several movies starring her that I think you should cover.

karl balstad

Oh.. except The Notebook. I refuse to watch that one. lol

ssb031

I voted for 27 Dresses, but changed it to 10 Things I Hate About You... although all of them on the poll are good so I hope you get to all of them eventually! Another one to suggest is Just Like Heaven. So good!!

ssb031

10 Things I Hate About You is awesome. It introduced us all to Heath Ledger.

purplehaaze bee

Such a good list and so hard to choose one. Only one for me that gets a "don't bother" from me is She's the Man.

OldBroadWithBaggage (Robin)

Damn, that's a hard poll.

Kayla Fehribach

yeah good point...... yeah I'm up for that

Dave Molloy

You've got mail 💌

Madame Kitty

Ten Things was filmed at my high school and with my classmates as extras!

Renee Lishka

Herp-derp

Blu

I love rom coms!! Just not these on the list. Lol. I feel the same about Hallowbeens. Very rarely is there anything I'm happy to see come up on those polls. Every once in awhile something will win that surprises me though.

Spocktacular

I have such a long list of favorite rom-com & rom-dramas but these are just "a handful" that I'd really love for Ashleigh to see... All of Me Arthur Dear John Heart and Souls HouseSitter It Could Happen To You Julie and Julia Larry Crowne My Blue Heaven New In Town Only the Lonely Spanglish

CinWin

Sooooo manyyy great Hugh Grant rom-coms.... Two Weeks Notice Music and Lyrics Bridget Jones's Diary (all of them) Florence Foster Jenkins The Rewrite Sense and Sensability

CinWin

I can't wait! I always giggle at the 👉 🐱 (if ya' know, ya' know}. 😁

CinWin

Whaaat? Cry??? Oh wait...I know what part you're talkin'bout. That's ok, she'll do enough laughing throughout to get her through a few tears.🤣

CinWin

I think the star-studded cast is what makes it one of the fav's. I can't wait to see who she recognizes.

CinWin

Yes, yessss, yessss! And we KNOW she'll LOVE it the second she sees who the male lead role is!!!! Oh wait...you already told her. LOL

CinWin

Yesssss!

CinWin

Yesssss, we dooooo!!!!🥰

CinWin

Those sound like good HalloBeans Wednesday picks,

CinWin

Awwwww mannnn...🫰

CinWin

...and then, if she ever watches Only You (one of my fav' RDJ movies), she'll get the brief reference in it.😁

CinWin

That's too bad because there are some really good ones on the list (and a ton more)...but I totally get it because it's pretty much how I feel about the HallowBeans movies. Gee...a gal who loves Rom-coms does like creepy, scary, bloody movies...go figure.😁

CinWin

It's such a good one and a young Julia is icing on the cake.

CinWin

Well then....let us break you into them! There are some really good ones on this list and the obvious winner will NOT disappoint.👌

CinWin

Even if you're not real big on Rom-com stuff, every guy I know that has seen "10 Things..." had nothing but praise for it. Go ahead...give it a watch and tell us whatcha' think.😁

CinWin

Yeeeeaaaaassss!!!!

CinWin

OMGGGGG....How in the world am I going to choose? I ❤ allllll these movies! If I had my way, February would be the "lovey-dovey" counterpart to HallowBeans! Just a whole month of my favorite feel-good genre.🥰

CinWin

These are so hard to choose. I adore a young Julia Roberts but my heartstrings pull for McDreamy 😉 but who can resist Lloyd Dobler? I say watch all of these and you tell us which movie and guy you liked the best. 😁

Alison

Ok, fine. I'll refine my statement: Nearly all popular entertainment of 1990s America was vapid, egocentric, crude, hetro-normative, offensive, and patriarchal. Indeed, these characteristics, are often seen as not a flaw in their manufacture, but are in fact 'treasured' as a feature of their creation to be celebrated as part of their defining character of the era. that more clear?

Michael Parker

I’m surprised The Notebook has so few votes. Really hoping that Jurassic Park finally wins the Franchise Friday vote!

EJN

THANK YOU!!💜

Stezio Decardi

Harold And Maude Please and Thank you 😊

Stezio Decardi

Just saying. I can't claim all of them were my doing but many of the movies I've recommended over the years have made it to the channel, and if she ever has listened to me, I think it's because I contribute positively to the community.

Tyler Foster

The only trouble with Truly, Madly, Deeply (which I don't think should scare Ashleigh away from watching it, but which might make it hard for it to win a poll) is that it is unavailable digitally or physically (aside from a decades-old out-of-print DVD) in the United States.

Tyler Foster

"There was nothing good made in [contemporary era]" is exactly as limiting as "There was nothing good made in [older era]." Thousands of movies are made every year from all over the world. It is absurd to say that any decade of filmmaking was completely worthless.

Tyler Foster

Have you actually watched any of them, or are you just dismissing them out of hand for no reason?

Tyler Foster

The whole spirit of the channel is about expanding your horizons. Why not watch some stuff that would normally be outside of your wheelhouse? You might like them.

Tyler Foster

All of those 'teen love/sex comedy films from the 90s are the same film with different poter art.

Michael Parker

The original 'Mitty' is superior

Michael Parker

AMEN!

Michael Parker

No as far as I'm concerned.

Michael Parker

We still talking romances/romantic comedies? Classics: Roman Holiday, An Affair to Remember, The Philadelphia Story, The African Queen, Sabrina, It Happened One Night (did you do this one?). More Modern: Sliding Doors, The English Patient, Return to Me, The Age of Innocence, Working Girl, Bridget Jones Diary (but it's kind of a Xmas movie), Lost In Translation, As Good As It Gets, Runaway Bride (or any romantic comedy with Richard Gere: Shall We Dance, Sommersby, Nights in Rodanthe), Four Weddings and a Funeral (or any romantic comedy with Hugh Grant: Nine Months, About a Boy, Notting Hill, Sense and Sensibility, Two Weeks Notice).

Spocktacular

You having a crap opinion is unfortunate alright. 🤷

Spocktacular

I watched it and I'll save the footage until it wins

Ashleigh Burton

I have a "duo" poll coming soon and H&M is on that LIST

Ashleigh Burton

offer suggestions for the next poll then pls

Ashleigh Burton

Mystic Pizza for the young Julia Roberts 💯💯

Danika Silva

These were some good picks.

Jaren

yeah, never seen any of them.. and probably never will, hope you enjoy them though.

Dave Molloy

You have to have Message in a Bottle. Its the Best Romantic Drama ever written by Nicholas Sparks, better than The Notebook

Stephen Koehler

So hard to choose on this one, three of my faves

Alexis Callagan

Wow, I really don't know any rom-coms!

Shawn Ravenfire

Mystic Pizza. Why don't more people talk about it? This is one of those movies.

Marcus

Thanks mom

Stezio Decardi

I keep requesting that

Stezio Decardi

hmm, can I suggest some? eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, 500 days of summer and she's out of my league. one is an unorthodox love story in my opinion. another is an anti love story and one is simply a cute, funny rom com.

Cawy

...unfortunately

Michael Parker

10 Things I Hate About You is one of my favorites... true classic 90s teen romcom. i had it on constant rotation when i was a kid.

AnthoniusWillis

10 Things I Hate About You was also on my list!

Tyler Foster

You need the way we were if you want a love story. Or go with Love Story

Leigh Nathaniel Silver

You're the only one saying it.

Spocktacular

Another poll where I can't even choose because I don't care about one single film on it.

Spocktacular

Such a good movie!

JC

I still recommend 'Roman Holiday,' a classic film with a young Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck.

Cindy Byrne

Omgoodness you're right! Thank you! I probably forgot I already saw it LOL. I know what I'm watching tonight ☺️

Madame Kitty

You keep pushing Tyler and you might get your wish.

Lynette Cummins

She has a reaction for that one already. 😄

Lynette Cummins

Sorry, none.

Nicholas

More 80s stuff! Mystic Pizza is delightful and stars a young Julia Roberts

Stephanie Chapman

Sleepless in Seattle 🙏🏻

Madame Kitty

For a classic romantic comedy: The Philadelphia Story. For a classic romantic drama: An Affair to Remember. For a more recent romcom: Four Weddings and a Funeral. For a musical romance: She Loves Me (which Ashleigh has in a collection)

Elliot Nesterman

so many good choices ugh

Ashley Thomas

All the above.

Kenn E Wayne

Well, that was easy.

Curtis Martin

Happy Death Day (and the sequel) are romantic comedies and no one can convince me otherwise!

Cass&Jason

4 of these are amazing, tough choice!!

Sally Haskell

I also love ‘Sliding Doors’ and the Ben Stiller ‘Secret Life of Walter Mitty’ in the subtle love area 🙂

Sunlit_Soul

Nine Months, it is sooo good and funny. Plus it has Robin Williams and Jeff Goldblum in it.

Katie Jackson

I've been asking for H&M since I've been here!

Stezio Decardi

Being nice and celebrating your favorites will likely go much farther faster than complaining about the choices that are on polls right now.

Tyler Foster

It's very unconventional... but totally a classic, HAROLD AND MAUDE (1971). It doesn't need to be a Valentine-y pick. It can be anytime of year.

AuntVes

I did not pay Ashley to make this comment...the people are speaking...

Tyler Foster

That movie is worth watching just for the deer scene.

Lynette Cummins

Just saw this recently. Such an underrated gem.

Tyler Foster

YESSSSSSS

Tyler Foster

I will continue to push "Starman" as my kinda lovey dovey

Michael Tocci

Agree

Emily M.

Say Anything is one of my all time faves. Then you also have to do Almost famous 🩵

Emily M.

I hope that James Bond is on the franchise poll this Thursday. We gotta get to Daniel & Pierce. ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

Lynette Cummins

She's the Man is cheesy fun. I suspect it's getting so few votes because anyone who might have voted for it is voting for 10 Things I Hate About You instead. They're pretty similar, and most people seem to think 10 Things is the better of the two. (Not saying why they're similar because I know you prefer not to know too much ahead of time, but people familiar with the movies know what I mean.) Anyway, just because it's doing so poorly on this poll, you probably shouldn't take it off future polls. Especially if you end up really liking 10 Things I Hate About You.

Steve Friedman

Yes! It is one of my go-tos. I think it was Carrol O'Connor's last movies,

Louise Brooks

Return to Me - David Duchovny and Minnie Driver. OMG so good.

Louise Brooks

I'm kind of surprised you haven't seen Say Anything already. I feel like that's one of those classic "everyone's seen" movies you would have watched in the first year or two of your channel.

Steve Friedman

Ashleigh, i'm okay with how it was with the Patreon release schedule. Ive not gotten used to it and very confused about wat's coming when. I miss my sunday watch-alongs and eating pizza with u. i'll get used to it . I just wanted to put my 2 cents in . Love u and ur channel.

Beth Brown

Erin Brockavich, which you'll love because so much Julia Roberts being amazing, and it's an investigation type story

calendar

Wait, didn’t you watch The Notebook? I remember you being late to a stream because you had just finished watching it.

Michael Atakpa

Only the Lonely. A beautiful, funny movie. One of John Candy's last. Can you add it to the list.

Blu

YES! I haven't thought about this movie in ages, but it is SO good!

Caroline Cocozza

All of these movies need to be seen, but definitely 10 Things ♡♡

Caroline Cocozza

I don't know guys.........10 Things I Hate About You is kinda overrated.

Bastion33

I had a vision of Ashleigh seeing both Short Circuit movies, the first one to honor Steve Guttenberg (Still Alive but for his work in the fires of California) and the second one just to complete the movie series.

James

Harold and Maude (1971)

Michael Buhl

One of my favorite romance movies is Return To Me. It has David Duchovny and Minnie Driver and I think is a secret gem.

Angela Munoz

(also we agreed the Hawkeye watch alongs would be a cool thing to post in the meantime.... 🏹👀)

JC

10 Things I Hate ABOUT YOU!!!!!!!!! 10000%

Equality State Of Mind

I love the movie Wimbledon. Such great chemistry between Paul Bettany and Kirsten Dunst. ❤️‍🔥

Lynette Cummins

She'll be like "lordy B" at Allison Janney's part.

Joe Blankenship

I love poll day.❤️ I went with Mystic Pizza. 🍕🍕🍕🍕

Lynette Cummins

Sweet love, renew thy force!

Joe Blankenship

Please re-upload LOVE ACTUALLY, even if it's as a Patreon exclusive!

_tragicmike

Need to see Say Anything for that iconic moment. IYKYK

AdoptDontShopPets

10 Things I Hate About You is such a staple! I would love to see a reaction at some point to my favorite romcom Wimbledon, starring Kirsten Dunst and Paul Bettany. Also, sorry, it's maybe not a February movie but the 2001 Josie and thr Pussycats needs more reactions! It's The Best Movie Ever, ask Mr Moviefone 😆

Ashley Mundt

Asheligh is gonna cry with 10 Things! Guarantee

Gio Vidrio

Knowing what kind of movies Ashleigh has liked... 10 Things should be right up her alley. A fun RomCom teen 90's movie.

Adam Doyle

And I also cast my vote for heartstopper as a feb series if u want lovey dovey. Every season is short so you can do the whole first season in one month

Elisa H.

AMEN!

Michael Parker

Ok, I'll just say it. Films from the 1990s (as well as most of the shows on TV) were awful. 😒

Michael Parker

Four Weddings and a Funeral! Notting Hill! Nine Months! Hugh Grant made some crazy good rom coms in the 90's. But I'll settle for Say Anything in the meantime. 😉

Cass&Jason

Truly, Madly, Deeply needs to by one of the February choices. Along with Sense and Sensibility. Not only is it Valentine’s Day, Alan Rickman’s birthday is in February.

Brandie Woodward

27 Dresses is such a fun romcom!!

Cosmic Slice

Love it or hate it The Notebook is an absolute modern classic

JC

Honestly any of them are great, with the exception of She's the Man, because I haven't seen it... the rest are all great!!!!!!

Julie Lazenby

Geez, how about some good choices?

Stezio Decardi
