In my high school literature class we had to read a book like this every week and have an essay test on it every Friday. Best college prep ever.

2025-01-01 20:01:12 +0000 UTCYou really should look at the cast list. There are some people you've seen before. Guy Pearce (Priscilla Queen of the Desert and Memento), baby Henry Cavill (Superman though IDK if youve seen it but you probably know who he is), Luis Guzman (Ant Man movies).

2024-12-31 15:04:07 +0000 UTCHey Ashleigh! Olivia Hussey just passed away. She started in the 1968 classic film (and my favorite version) of Romeo and Juliet. I would LOVE for you to react to it! I think you’ll like it. I hope you had a nice Christmas with hubbin!

2024-12-31 04:50:28 +0000 UTCYou may remember that "The Count of Monte Cristo" was one of the books Andy Dufresne got for the prison library in "The Shawshank Redemption". "You'll like it, it's about a prison break".

2024-12-31 02:33:45 +0000 UTCLet me put this in movie terms so millennials can understand it: In a time long ago in a galaxy far, far away we were assigned books like The Count of Monte Cristo as our summer reading during high school so that we could review it and the other 4 or 5 books we had also been assigned during the fall semester of Literature. And I'm talking about the kind of books with paper pages that you had to turn with fingers other than your thumbs to read. It was a primitive time, so be sure, but we had the comfort that our knowledge would be passed on to future generations...and they would make them into movies, apparently.

2024-12-31 01:32:56 +0000 UTCAlice was watched religiously in our household by my mom. A very good series and Linda Lavin was amazing in it

2024-12-30 23:45:06 +0000 UTCOn a different note, yesterday the wonderful Linda Lavin passed. Her most significant work was on Broadway; she was a multiple Tony, Drama Desk, and Theatre World Award winner. Likely best remembered by most for her leading role in the long-running sitcom "Alice," for which she won two Golden Globe awards, she also had a significant career as a cabaret and concert singer, cutting two well-received albums of standards. You may have recall her from guest spots in "Santa Clarita Diet," which I think you've mentioned. As a tribute watch I recommend either "The Intern" (2015), which stars Robert De Niro and Anne Hathaway, or the TV movie "Girls Weekend" (2019).
