2024-09-03 20:15:38 +0000 UTCEpisode 6 gave so much Gintama/Fumoffu energy it felt like a fever dream. I looked it up and apparently the manga has a few 4koma pages at the end of each volume and they smashed them ALL together for ep6. I want that RGB antler forreal though... I can tell why some people don't get the humor of the show since a LOT of jokes are HIGHLY specific references (the explosion in ep5 was the same animation Studio Wit used in AOT so they're literally hiding a joke about their own animation style in a show where they chose to copypaste REAL deer on the screen) or the jokes are language puns like Koshi Torako being a pun about tigers and her interactions with Nekoyamada being similar to videos of jungle cats and housecats interacting. I can tell people never grew up watching Azumanga Daioh because the dvds came with thick booklets of language pun trivia for non-Japanese viewers to follow along with 90% of the dialogue.
