Before it was only in the one of the light novels and turns out he's actually banned from using it at all in the seireitei.

2024-08-23 06:03:50 +0000 UTCFr tho the way the story between Tosen and Komamura ended, with Komamura making the same mistake to literally sell his soul for revenge in the exact same way Tosen did, is some real poetic tragedy. The imagery of the big dog, the embodiment of his clan's sin of revenge, literally eating his heart while Komamura loses his humanity and recognizes how he failed in the same way hit hard for me. And then his lieutenant picking him up, telling him he still did well, and carrying his limp body forwards towards Yhwach is a sick last shot for him. Kubo's best writing shows up in his melancholy scenes imo, I think it's a big part of what separates Bleach in tone from the other shonen of the time.
