WRAP up JingleBeans

GET IT?? WRAP??? like presents??? lolololol

ANYWAYS - I'll let you in on a lil secret (a secret I've talked about already but JUST In case you missed it) It feels like we're blowing thru Jinglebeans because you're goin to get January polls soon!

WHY?

Because in 2025 I'm going to start offering ONE WEEK EARLY ACCESS. That's right - you're gonna get the uploads a WEEK before they go live on YouTube!

I know many reactors already have super early access. When I first started Patreon, it was just me doing everything so I could really only promise the day before early access. Thanks to some great editors who are kickin' major ass - you guys have alot of fun things coming in the new year. I'm only letting you in on THAT secret right now. 🫣

I'll have a full video to explain alllll the changes and additions soon!

I'm saving the last upload in December for a movie I really wanna see that I don't think would win a poll. So for now Here's what we got come up and YOU'RE voting on December 23rd upload.

Comments

Ashleigh, I know this movie isn't in your poll, but you really, really have to do a reaction of "The Holiday" with Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet, Jude Law, and Jack Black. Definitely positive this is a Christmas romantic comedy you will enjoy. Ok, the fact that my wife just watched it, and it is one of our favorites only makes me a wee bit biased.😉😀 Hope you have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year🎅🤶🎁🎄🎆🥂🍾

William Stefens

I didn't really have a film I was hyped for, so instead I went with the majority to support other people's choice. Happy Holiday everyone!

Nocke Devilkyn

If you watch the Ref it will made clear why it's being suggested. One of my top movies to watch for Christmas.

Kimberly Polson

I miss Denis Leary movies so I hope The Ref wins

Jessica Petty

I dont know where these suggestions are coming from, but I totally agree with you.

Sally Haskell

Literally never heard of The Ref. 🤣 I don't even remember seeing a trailer for it in 1994. Where did it's fans suddenly come from?

YodatheHobbit

I know it's still fairly new, but Rise of the Guardians (2012) is a great movie! Not necessarily a Christmas movie, but a fun winter-ish one!

ssb031

I loved Prancer as a kid... also Santa Claus: The Movie (1985 -who doesn't love Dudley Moore? If you haven't seen Arthur, you should!).

ssb031

I agree lol

ssb031

Have you seen the newer one? Doesn't compare for sure

ssb031

me too! Prancer is really cute... Jack Frost, well Micheal Keaton, 'nuff said. And Four Christmases is pretty funny.. So sad not to see The Family Stone didn't make it on the list again, but I'm holding out hope that's the end of the year one.

ssb031

Literally just watched it 2 days ago! Such a great movie, but definitely more HallowBeans than JingleBeans.

Vicious Trollop

One of my favorites!

Vicious Trollop

I highly recommend Home for the Holidays. Though it's a Thanksgiving movie, the universal theme of going home to see your family is relevant year-round. It is just such a good movie! I watch it every year 🤗

Vicious Trollop

Woman you better do your job and swaddle that baby and watch Four Christmases

Mr Marvelous

OMG A WHOLE WEEK EARLY?! I’m so happy!! Thank you so very much 😊 Also, be keeping my fingers crossed next year for the killer snowman Jack Frost!

Zombie

Write in vote for Meet Me in St Louis

Nick Moore

Come on Ref! Come on!!

Jacob Colson

Jack Frost!! Next year, I recommend Letters to Satan Claus. A girl learns the true meaning of Christmas when she accidentally summons Satan to murder her family and friends.

K.M.

More of a non- night vision Hallowbeans I think

Cosmic Slice

I actually found this one kinda hard to choose.

Nocke Devilkyn

YodatheHobbit: Thanks for your thoughtful and well-worded response. I'm confused on a few points. 1) You wrote, “Watch movies without critics influencing your opinion.” You also said, “Be your own person, not copy and paste opinions.” You seem to think people let their opinions of films be influenced by the opinions of other people. Do you do that? How would that even work? Do you read reviews and then watch the movie and think “I would have disliked this, but I read reviews that say it is good, so I like it?” Do you watch a film first and love it but then speak with a friend who says they hated it so you decide you hated it, too? That seems bizarre. I don’t do that and I don’t know anyone who does. Regardless, that is plainly *not* what I suggested anyone do and I am confused as to why you think that is what anyone would suggest. 2) Perhaps you misspoke throughout your post? Maybe you meant that one should not let people’s opinions influence one’s CHOICE of which films to watch. If you aren’t going to use other people’s opinions about films to narrow your choices when deciding where to spend your time and money, what information DO you use? Trailers/commercials? Interviews with the actors? Description blurbs written by the producers? The poster? That’s all marketing. Any info about a film other than a neutral party’s opinion comes from the people trying to convince you to give them your money. That’s why the hilarious YouTube channel, Screen Junkies, has their insanely funny series called “Honest Trailers.” (https://www.youtube.com/@screenjunkies/videos) You can’t trust anything producers say. 3) It’s ironic that you suggest we shouldn’t use opinions to filter our options when deicing what to watch. (Again, assuming that is what you meant instead of what you wrote.) This is literally an *opinion* poll. Ashleigh is literally asking for the *opinion* of others re: which movie to watch. We are her movie critics during this poll and it is our reviews she is using to decide which films to watch. If you think you should ignore the opinions of others when picking, then why are you ever participating in this poll discussion? Happy watching!

Cass&Jason - Really? Something in this world isn't 100% consistent? :-) Seriously, though... art is obviously subjective. The point is to provide people a better starting point of choices and then see what they like out of those. I love some pretty bad films, but I recognize that my reasons for loving them usually have to do with sentimentality or some similar emotion. I wouldn't recommend them to someone unless I was very familiar with their tastes. To directly respond to your point about ET, I must point out: 1) I literally said, "I am working on averages, here!" 2) I said "Ashleigh *regularly* enjoys films that are critically acclaimed MUCH more than ones that aren't." I did not say she *always* enjoys them. The world is not one of absolutes. But it IS a world of bell curves and averages. Why wouldn't we want to give any viewer a higher average starting point from which they can experience films? :-)

Graham Martin

Fuck Rotten Tomatoes. Watch movies without critics influencing your opinion. Be your own person, not copy and paste opinions.

YodatheHobbit

awe .. Jack frost is such a good Christmas movie sad to see it down in the polls

Snacky Munchies

Adventures in Babysitting (1987) [non Disney + version] is perfect for the season!

Laymo13

ET has a 99% RT score. We all know how she feels about that movie. I don't think any of us should assume how Ashleigh will feel about a movie. We all recommend movies for our own reasons -- sometimes because we like them, sometimes because we think she'll like them, sometimes because they're good cinema. Art is subjective.

Cass&Jason

If you're looking for a New Year's movie (which I assume you are not 😁), keep in mind either 200 Cigarettes or Four Rooms. A lot of people hate Four Rooms, but we love it.

Cass&Jason

I'll suggest "The Lion in Winter" again, as I was late to the previous list.

Cindy Byrne

so many good choices!

Ashley Thomas

I hope Krampus is the movie she’s saving for the end of the month! It’s been on two polls so far so she clearly wants to watch it!

EJN

Great movie! So feel-good to take the blues away.

Meredith Shivers

Wow, before rewatching the trailer, I totally forgot Mixed Nuts existed. Never saw it, and now I'm old enough to get the jokes. Seeing it is gonna be like a Christmas present I never opened. After seeing Christmas with the Kranks every year for the past 3 years, I'm totally into silly/unconventional family Christmas movies so I wanna give either that or Home for the Holidays a whirl.

YodatheHobbit

Absolutely!!!

Meredith Shivers

Typo in first sentence should read "tastes ARE unique."

Graham Martin

LOLOL

Graham Martin

(or as we call it in my house, "Tootie: Portrait of a Future Serial Killer"

Skip

Meet Me in St Louis without a doubt!!

Skip

Try " Christmas in Connecticut" from 1945 with Barbara Stanwyck!

Stephanie Chapman

I think the Ref will win this one. So I’m voting for Mixed Nuts to help push it onto future polls.

Jason Espinoza

Cool

Echo Moon

Before people yell about critics ratings and whatnot, I acknowledge that tastes and unique. BUT, Ashleigh regularly enjoys films that are critically acclaimed MUCH more than ones that aren't. (As do most people.) I am working on averages, here! Here are the Rotten Tomatoes rating for this poll: Mixed Nuts 13% Home for the Holidays 64% The Ref 74% Prancer 67% Jack Frost 19% Four Christmases 25% If I may be so bold, I suggest a new (or the next) survey include the following: Meet Me in St. Louis 100% The Shop Around the Corner 99% The Holdovers 97% Tangerine 96% Klaus 95% The Apartment 93% I don't think she has seen any in my suggested survey. I think she would love them all. I just hate to end the year on a meh movie. Maybe keep in mind for next Christmas? :-)

Graham Martin

Can I choose "other"? :-)

Graham Martin

Just gonna throw out there, Dolly Parton’s Smokey Mountain Christmas, if you can find it!

Junior

The only one of these worth watching is Home for the Holidays which is more of a Thanksgiving movie, but whatever.

Sally Haskell

I will always try for Bell, Book and Candle. Jimmy Stewart, Kim Novak, Jack Lemmon - so good!

Louise Brooks

It's on the channel. :)

Cosmic Slice

If you haven't seen It's a Wonderful Life (1946) I hope you get to see it soon. It's the absolute best holiday film. :)

Echo Moon

Oh no! Mixed Nuts or The Ref?!?!? Ack!

Cass&Jason

I got Home for the Holidays and I’ll Be Home for Christmas mixed up in my head (the one with Jonathan Taylor Thomas) aha. I haven’t watched I’ll be home for Christmas in so long - wonder if it’s any good or if nostalgia plays a role. I voted for Jack Frost since it made a big impact on me growing up

RationallySassy

Rewatched the die hard reaction. Baby Ashleigh not knowing who Bruce Willis or Alan Rickman was. Awww

Elisa H.

The Ref, Mixed Nuts, and Home fro the Holidays are the best! I think Home for the Holidays takes place at Thanksgiving though...

Jassell B

No Silent Night Deadly Night? Shame

Stevilicious

Ooh I hope The Ref wins - underrated movie for sure that deserves a wider audience

Charity Konusser (the chonus)

I watched The Ref while putting up my Christmas tree. It gets my vote for sure. Denis Leary is the best.

Lynette Cummins

ALL OF THEM! ALL THE THINGS! GREAT POLL!

Michael Parker

Suggesting Bridget Jones' Diary for Jingle Beans one year. If Die Hard is a Christmas movie, then BJD definitely is.

Spocktacular

Please just save Home for the Holidays for next Thanksgiving. I love it but it's not a Christmas movie.

Spocktacular

Black Christmas

Mikey Russo

Mixed nuts is one of those movies that I didn't even like the first time but it grew on me and now I love rewatching it at Christmas. So while it could be fun to watch I kinda get why it's not going over so well on the poll lol.

Jacob Jones

C'mon! We have to get The Ref to win this poll!!

Cosmic Slice

I’m suggesting Black Christmas 1974. Lmao! But cool Prancer!
