He had that shit latent in him, and smacking the jail over and over caused the Quincy reishi that was being let off to mix with his, jumpstarting his latent powers

All I'll say is let him cook, this twist has been quietly foreshadowed since legit Chapter 1. Crazy that all of this (and the story that will come from it) nearly never got animated, it's been one of Kubo's massive reveals he's held onto since the beginning of the story

2024-07-17 19:09:28 +0000 UTCSomething I'd like to clear up, not sure if you were confused or not but there were 2 "bald" guys. The guy Kenpachi killed and the one Yamamoto killed. So they are brothers able to copy a person's memories, power, personality and so. What the show doesn't explain is that the guy Kenpachi took on was able to copy 100% of the target's power but only 70-80% of his memories/personality whatever you may want to call it The guy Yamamoto took on was the younger brother, who is able to copy 100% of the targets memories/personality while only 70-80% of the target's power. Now both are able to replicate the appearance of the person they are choosing. Hopefully that clears up some stuff if you might've been confused about that part. This is one part that never gets explained in the anime but is somewhat touched upon in the manga. Although not until recently, kubo himself clarified on how exactly the powers work.

2024-07-17 11:54:05 +0000 UTCThat part about Yhwach calling Ichigo his son is like saying: 'We are all children of God'. All Quincies are, theoretically, sons of the Quincy King. Apart from the name Yhwach, it is a direct reference to YHWH, the Hebrew name of the biblical God of Israel.

We hadn't seen anything of them until about a week before this episode. When Kubo released the shot of them all posing together on Twitter. -Besides Yamamoto, you have met one of the original 13 already. 👀 -The guy who stabbed Ywhach was Yamamoto's lieutenant. Which added context on why he was the first to get bodied. -I definitely would wait to pass judgement on the quincy thing. The explanation happens this season during a flashback arc. As good, if not better, then Swing Back The Pendulum, imo. -Byukaya did in fact die....however!! Due to the massive influx of hate from Byukaya fangirls..Kubo had to change it. It got so bad he was recieving death threats. It was a whole thing. I figured I would let you know before you watched the next episode. Kubo originally intended him to die there when the manga was releasing.

2024-07-17 03:41:27 +0000 UTCFun detail to show proof Ichigo's bankai is mixed with his hollow power thanks to fullbring being hollow power: When he "teleports" to Byakuya it's not a flash step, the soul Reaper technique, it's sonido, the hollow version. He uses it subconsciously. Listen to the sound effect. Also he uses red reiatsu for a lot of his fight which is also generally associated with hollows.

2024-07-17 03:37:15 +0000 UTCThat was Yamamoto's former lieutenant Sasakibe that stabbed Yhwach in the flashback, not a Quincy. Tbh I wouldn't be surprised if he ordered Sasakibe's death specifically considering he was able to stab Yhwach like that 1,000 years ago 😭

The scene with Aizen and Yhwach and the opening scene of episode 7 with the OG captains were completely new. The OG captains even showed up in shonen jump when this episode came out and turns out one of them is Yoruichi's ancestor. Also a YouTuber that did a popular fan animation of the Yamamoto fight helped animate the actual anime fight
