is a saying for gay men because in her later years Judy Garland was very gay friendly and held health benefits and all gays loved her. Her most famous role was Dorothy Gale in Wizard of Oz so they call themselves friends of Dorothy.
NOTE: you’ve probably seen Wizard of Oz but if you wanna see a really great performance by Judy Garland in her heyday of see a star is born, starring her and7 James Mason. There’s
music because seeing her sing makes all the difference. Please please do a reaction to that song on YouTube Judy garland, The man that got away from a star is boy

Ashliegh is smart. The Tennessee Public Education System failed Ashliegh as it does for so many across America.

The step-brother thing: I know it sounds “icky” but they say in the beginning that her father and his mother were only briefly married and the divorce was 5 years ago. They never say where Josh and his mother have been living, but they made it clear it’s not L.A. And the only reason he’s back in L.A. (and showing up at their house) was because he’s now a freshman at an L.A. college. Cher consistently calls him her ex-step-brother and the only time Josh refers to their relationship, he calls her Mel’s daughter.
But if none of that helps make it less icky, remember this is an adaptation of Jane Austin’s Emma. And they were cousins in the book - first cousins! So they toned it down quite a bit.

The best reaction ever! I enjoy watching Ashleigh not recognize people in movies, only to eventually realize who they are. This one had Paul Rudd right up front, and repeatedly through the movie, with not quite his trademark smartass sarcasm, but it's there some. And I just kept watching Ashleigh, to see when she'd twig to it. All the way to the credits. Very enjoyable. I was surprised it didn't happen right around "He's cute", but I loved it.
(And I don't intend any of this in a mean way. Some people just aren't good at pattern recognition. But one thing Ashleigh does for me is she accepts herself as she is. She can laugh at herself with no shame. And I need a role model for that. She'll do.)

Best Science Fiction movie Hollywood ever made. Primarily because they didn't know it was science fiction.

Oddly enough Jerome Weiselberry posted a review of the 1972 BBC adaptation of Emma on the same day. She is sort of the Anti-Ashley in that she is very literate and has extensive film knowledge. Both charming in their own unique way.

Exactly, for some reason reactors don't get that and it's honestly really annoying, it's like they weren't even listening, lol. They say in the beginning that they had been divorced for 5 years, they were just kids when their parents got married and also mentioned that it wasn't even very long. They actually tell you often that they have absolutely no brother/sister relationship. The only reason why Josh even hung around was because he not only still had a good relationship with Mel but Mel was also helping him become a lawyer. Luckily unlike other reactors Ashleigh wasn't too bothered by it and it wasn't distracting, lol. Another part that always bugs me about other reactors to this is them thinking it's weird that Josh went to a teen party where he dances with Thai. It wasn't a teen party, Cher says to Christian in class that her ex-stepbrother's "Josh" friends are throwing a party, he knew the people there.

Josh is ex-stepbrother. Mel (Cher's widowed father) married Josh's divorced mother, then they were divorced. No biological connection, just shared father/stepfather.

"Friend of Dorothy" is a reference to Judy Garland, who played Dorothy in the 1939 "Wizard of Oz". Garland was/is a gay icon, as are several other Hollywood era actresses, in part because of this number: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q7d0NRewzW4
And possibly this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XRYZ7Z4909s
Yes, she is tiny - all of 4'10", which means I'm a whole inch taller than she is...
