EARLY ACCESS: Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey

EARLY ACCESS: Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey

I cried through this whole video. 😭

Lynnetta

So I've finally joined your patreon. If you're looking for animal movies, try "marley and me" and maybe around Christmas try "a dogs purpose" these are two movies I have seen once, but never again. Unless you do a reaction to them. I asked this on your last "BTVS" any chance of a shout out in your next "BTVS" vid?

Ricky Esney

Today, the universe lost one of the finest actors of this generation. One of a handful of entertainers to have won the EGOT. To truly honor the man, I think it's only right to list those movies in which he is NOT a minor character and which won him accolades. Since Ashleigh has already seen the Star Wars movies and Field of Dreams, the one remaining movie is The Lion King (1994). He is a major character in this movie. My vote is The Lion King. Yes, he won an Oscar nomination for The Great White Hope. I plan on watching it soon but for purposes of the channel, I believe The Lion King serves both to honor Mr Jones and will be good for Ashleigh's channel.

It would be a travesty to not have a poll!

The Hunt For Red October, Conan The Barbarian, The Great White Hope, The Three Fugitives, Patriot Games

James Earl Jones movies The Great White Hope. A film where he plays a fictionalized version of the boxer Jack Johnson. Matewan about a turn of the century coal miners strike. The UFO incident a made for TV movie about Betty and Barney Hill who were one of the first reported alien abductions. Many of the tropes of alien abduction come from this incident. But the movie Ashleigh has not seen that features a prominent role by JEJ is Conan the Barbarian (1982).

TheSingulatarian

Hate to break this news to the group but we just lost our beloved James Earl Jones! Big sad over here!

Brian Booher

with the passing of the great James Earl Jones can I make the controversial suggestion of not doing a poll in his honor? Ashleigh has pretty much covered all of his film career highlights on the channel, even Sneaker and Naked Gun 3! I'd hate for her to dedicate something not great to him. This is the the first time someone has passed and I was like 'wow she covered that guy already" RIP Mister Mann!

Skip

Don't watch Milo and Otis. They abused and killed the animals.

TheSingulatarian

Giving lots of love for this one. Also need to watch Milo and Otis as it gets mistaken for homeward bound. Love the reaction keep it up young lady.

Mr Marvelous

Absolutely thrilled you got to see this movie, Ashleigh! And I think you will have a fun time with the second movie as well. I know I enjoyed it lots!

Brian Booher

I haven't seen this in quite some time. It gets me every time. You cry all you need Ashleigh, baby.

OldBroadWithBaggage (Robin)

I loved this as a kid. I've watched it dozens of times and it still makes me cry. There is a sequel to this, Homeward Bound: Lost In San Francisco. It's not as good as the first one but I still think it's a good movie.

Katie Jackson

Ashleigh didn't recognize Michael J. Fox?!

Jacob Colson

Yeah, that's really sad. Especially since I loved that movie growing up. And apparently, they weren't very nice to the animals while making the original "Incredible Journey" from the 60s.

Joe Blankenship

Rewatching this as an adult really made me wonder how they were able to safely pull off all of these shots with animal actors. Found a pretty good Reddit post explaining all of it: https://www.reddit.com/r/movies/comments/68buxl/comment/dgxgxv2/

Joe Blankenship

I am so bummed. I thought you were watching the original.

Jill Peterson

I think with any movie where the pet/animal is the protagonist, tissues will be unavoidable. That being said, some great animal movies are "Babe", "Free Willy", "War Horse" and "Hachi". On the other side of the spectrum: the recent "Cocaine Bear". I mean, the title is self explanatory 😎.

Wally

A little research shows that this is actually a remake. I never knew that.

TheSingulatarian

No recognition of Robert Hayes from "Airplane":

TheSingulatarian

It seems that this movie was filmed humanely. The animals were not abused. There is however an animal film called "Milo and Oits" where the animals were harmed and even killed. It really should be banned. Please do not watch that film.

TheSingulatarian

I’ma go pet and hug all my furbabies now 😭

Bryan Foster

Right when you asked what your cry count was, I was thinking, this reaction needs a cry count. So I tracked them while I watched. Actual Cries: 8 Close calls: 2 Eight times when you broke down, and two where you got super close, but no tears or sobs. Your welcome. LMAO I adore this movie, so I'm overjoyed that you loved it so much, Ashleigh. I bet you gave yourself a cry-headache, though. I hope you took some pills and had a nice long nap. What a wonderful reaction. I'll be back to rewatch this more than once.

Raven Dark

She’s only seen the ending scene and it made her bawl like a baby. Thanks to her friends while she was interning at a local radio station. 📻

Gio Vidrio

Ashleigh would be a melted puddle if My Dog Skip won!

Echo Moon

Remember from Steel Magnolias - "laughter through tears is my favorite emotion." <3

F1Swiftie

Dammit Ashleigh. You do the hard work so we don't have to. It's been a long time since I've seen this movie. There's also another one made earlier than this one - and a book. I watch with you so I only have to cry for 30 minutes instead of an hour and a half.

F1Swiftie

Well sure glad this one won, and not My Dog Skip. 🥹🤣

Gio Vidrio

that thumbnail looks about right
