BACK TO SCHOOL POLL

y'all brought up a great point about it's time for school again.

So let's watch some movies about it!
PICK YOUR TOP TWO

Comments

I was too late for this poll but would have had a reaalllly hard time choosing anyway. Watch them alllll. LOL

CinWin

no, but that's a great suggestion

The Goateed Geek

No Prime of Miss Jean Brodie

Leigh Nathaniel Silver

she saw that already

Leigh Nathaniel Silver

she saw it

Leigh Nathaniel Silver

Far too late to join in this vote, but maybe for the next back to school I'd add these with a UK flavour Boarding Schools Goodbye Mr. Chips (1939) The Browning Version (1951 or 1994) City High School To Sir, With Love (1967) The History Boys (2006) Comedy The Belles of St Trinians (1954) with the fantastic Alastair Sim, first of 4 films

The Goateed Geek

How about "Back to School" starring Rodney Dangerfield?

Tom Castro

Oh no! James Earl Jones has passed.😥

Curtis Martin

"Back to School"? Where's the Buffy binge then! <3

Riley

Thank you. I’ll look them up. I can see Ashley reacting mostly positively to this movie, but it was up against some really popular movies.

Megan Jackson

Clueless is the best Jane Austen adaptation ever (for Emma). And it's iconic & funny, too.

Genette Irlbeck

Or she could just watch Disney's "Cars". Same movie.

TheSingulatarian

i like school of rock but its not better then mean girls or legally blond

Jason Skeans

I know it’s not a school themed movie but I do hope Doc Hollywood gets in Ashleigh’s radar for a watch some day. I feel like she’s vibe with it as something fun and lighthearted. Summer vibes.

Jessica Marks

Not sure if it fits for school but Encino Man DOES take place at a school for some of it, if I remember right.

Jessica Marks

Summer School! Omg that’s a level of nostalgia for me that the others don’t even reach. I watched it off a copied VHS from HBO or Cinemax that my grampa recorded so he could share with his non-cable having kids and grandkids (and himself when he got home from trucking on the road I bet).

Jessica Marks

I heard in her last live that Ashleigh has a discord. Is it for all Patreon members or only certain tiers?

EJN

Allll of them. I'm convinced you'll love all of them.

Odd

I was really hoping to see Pay it Forward on the poll. maybe we could get it next week?

Nocke Devilkyn

As if?

Alison

The Gwyneth Paltrow version!

Meredith Shivers

Gah! Yes! Duh.

Jennifer Russell

Love Summer School. I’m surprised it made the list.

Chel Van Hel

James Darren passed can you watch the 1959 movie Gidget in memory of James?

Sassafras and Lemons

I feel like Mean Girls is a right of passage for women, at this point. The culture was never the same afterwards. 😂

TheYo Show

School for Scoundrels License to Drive Lean on me The principal Dangerous minds Stand and Deliver Bad teacher

Mr Marvelous

Legally Blonde for sure! And you should follow up with the sequel, Red, White and Blonde. It also stars Sally Field and we know how much you love her! ☺️💕

BuffTuxedo21

Emma.

Echo

As if! She's only 16! (Of course, you are correct.)

Echo

Dangerous Liaisons should be watched before Cruel Intentions!!

Jennifer Russell

Clueless is actually high school Sophomores, but it is still the same order as you have here. I voted for Clueless & Mean Girls, but I love Legally Blonde too. Honestly, I will be happy with any of the movies.

Vicious Trollop

Yeah, Clueless, BUT Pride and Prejudice should be watched before or just after! It could be like a double feature.

Jennifer Russell

Akeelah and the Bee Booksmart (2019) Coach Carter (2005) Lean on Me Mr. Holland's Opus Stand and Deliver To Sir With Love (1967)

Wally

:-) Thanks ! But it's so far behind, it'll never catch up.

Christine

A bunch of folks have been saying this and I have never seen it so I changed one of my votes.

Todd Rush

Yep.

Todd Rush

I haven't seen it since the actual 90s and I loved it back then. I wondered how it holds up. Guess I'll find out.

Todd Rush

I like all of these movies ok but definitely Clueless and Mean Girls... For pop culture impact alone. The others don't really come close.

Spocktacular

Heaven Help Us (1985) with Andrew McCarthy, the guy from Weekend at Bernies, would have fit nicely into this poll. Some Kind of Wonderful (1987) with Mary Stuart Masterson from Fried Green Tomatoes. Brick (2005) would have been another interesting choice.

Marvin Just Marvin

I found it. It’s in Michigan

Brian Booher

She'll probably say, "That guy looks familiar" whenever she sees two actors before they became famous.

Jacob Colson

This is the first time I can honestly say, I love all of these movies and would be happy with any of them winning. Hope we see the runner ups on another list soon.

Katie Jackson

Yeah she would adore that film

Tim Van Holder

Cruel Intentions, hell yes!

Jacob Colson

At least it ain't Dazed and Confused. Such an overrated movie.

Jacob Colson

Do you have directions?

Brian Booher

I've been suggesting that for 2 years now.

Bruce Devine

Agreed!

Tina Thomure

I wish more people would choose Mr. Hollands Opus. It’s a wonderful movie and we all know how Ashleigh feels about Richard Dreyfus.

Tina Thomure

To hell with all of you picking clueless. What a stupid movie

Kristopher Long

Isn’t “Back to School” Rodney Dangerfield? I think you’re thinking of “Summer School”.

Susan Holly

Popcorn in Bed did it recently if you need your fix.

TheSingulatarian

In the future. "She's All That", "Bring it On", "Cruel Intentions" and "Varsity Blues" so Ashliegh can watch "Not Another Teen Movie" which is the last of the great spoof movies made by Hollywood before the genre was run into the ground.

TheSingulatarian

Mostly, it's just sophmoric humor, but the "are all nerds as good as you?" scene is pretty indefensible.

Curtis Martin

Should have impressed upon you that 10 Things I Hate About You was a high school movie.

Tyler Foster

Mean Girls, for Regina George!

fanofactionflicks

OK. I couldn't remember

Scott Macalino

How about The Incredible Mr. Limpet? I’m sure there’s a school of fish in there somewhere

Brian Booher

I'm waiting for Rex Manning Day! (Apr. 8, ftr.)

Echo

Well it certainly hasn't stood the test of time. If someone isn't uncomfortable while watching it- that's a red flag.

Echo

Stop trying to make fetch happen.

Echo

::::Squee!:::: Clueless (HS freshmen), Mean Girls (HS juniors), and Legally Blonde (college). In that order (but I voted Clueless and Legally Blonde). These are some of my favorite re-watches and I *love* when reactors do them!

Echo

sounds like the kind of thing someone would say if they were a virgin who cant drive

Ashley Thomas

I've been hoping she'll watch V for Vendetta on Nov 5 for three years now 😭

JC

Where’s Ashleigh’s Choice?

Brian Booher

@Jon The entire plot of Mean Girls is set into motion at a Halloween party, I think it could be forgiven if it showed up in spooky season

JC

I believe she did that last year

JC

The Faculty

Shane Plagmann

"Legally Blonde" omg PLEASE!!!!!!!!

Scott Margeson

School Of Rock all the way!!

James Sharp

Rooting for Mr. Holland.

Joe Blankenship

It would be so fetch if you could add an all the above choice.

Kenn E Wayne

As if!

Joe Blankenship

Ugh!! Come on guys Clueless is SOOOO overrated

Michelle LaMar

Clueless is such a fantastic 90s classic

Joshua Reichert

All of these are great choices. Can’t go wrong with any of them.

EJN

yes but it's also not a regular upload day so i don't think one non-spooky movie in october that's just an extra upload day would totally mess Hallobeans up. but it was just a thought i'd put out there. wishful thinking really especially since it doesn't look like it's gonna win this poll lol.

Anthony Willis

if y’all know Ashleigh you’ll know to vote for School of Rock

Zach D

Ugh! As if!! 🤣

Gio Vidrio

Love Summer School though feel like it’s more early summer viewing. Clueless I’m so happy to see ahead. 90’s classic.

PlaceForFaith

Doesn't look like it's gonna win but I do suggest Baack To School with a young Krita Alley and I RREALLY think you'll love a young Marrk Harmon.

Keith B

She did that one already.

PlaceForFaith

Only one 80s film!? There were dozens from that decade!

Michael Parker

Where is "Back To School"?

Michael Parker

thats spooky season

Bleedingreen

NERDS! NERDS! NERDS! Seriously? How can you go back to school without the wholesome misogyny that is "Revenge of the Nerds"? Yes, it's problematic, but isn't college? And I'm STILL salty about BABE

Curtis Martin

All are good picks. Mean girls clueless and legally blonde are my favs

Brittany Winter

Have you done "back to school" with Rodney Dangerfield?(I can't remember if she had or not)

Scott Macalino

As if!!!!!

Anais Hilator

I've been wanting Clueless to be on the channel for so long, Legally Blonde too, I'm so happy both of them are on here

JC

I absolutely love Summer School, so sad it's at the bottom so far. Maybe it will move up? A very underrated film that is so much fun and yet a lot of heart as well.

Echo Moon

Mona Lisa Smile would be good too

Kate Bosworth

just a reminder Mean Girls Day is October 3rd, so if it doesn't win here, you could always make the executive decision to watch it anyway & post it then... just a thought. 😁

Anthony Willis

Summer School is an underrated 80s favorite of mine! Very young Mark Harmon and Kirstie Alley!

Phillip Smith

This poll is hard! Legally Blonde, Mean Girls, and Clueless are all absolute classics!

Amanda E. Ally

Mr. Holland’s Opus is so underrated. I remember seeing it in theaters and every so often I just pull up the ending because it is an AMAZING ending to a great story.

Megan Jackson

Mean Girls would be just endless "I've heard that line before" lolll

JC

How is Mr. Holland’s Opus losing ???? I’m so sad.

Christine

Absolutely Mr. Holland's Opus and Legally Blonde for me!!! Ashleigh would *love* both.

Cosmic Slice

You still missing St Trinians(2007) comedy film series set in a girls school.

Bruce Williams

"Mean Girls" owes a LOT to "Heathers" but it's much less dark so Ashleigh will probably like it better than "Heathers."

Paul Stelter

If you want to see her cry, Mr hollands opus!!

Emily Gray

Aww, I loved Vamps - silly but fun. Voted for Summer School because it was a favorite of mine growing up and Legally Blonde because I honestly like it. Maybe she could do the musical too - there is a proshot of it.

Cristina Collins-Armstrong

Rock 'N' Roll High School (1979) would be a great addition to this poll.

Michael Buhl

Yes, it is already on the channel

Cristina Collins-Armstrong

Its already on the channel?

Skip

I was going to say the same thing

Ben Levin

And after Clueless you can watch Vamps, because it’s the same director and some cast (but otherwise unrelated).

Chris Crowther

I’m going with School of Rock and Mr. Holland’s Opus.

Kate Blais

Anybody else like the movie back to school should’ve been in this?

Michael Lynch

Summer School is fantastic, a true 80's gem. Shame it seemingly has no chance of winning because i hardly see channel react to it.

PieHard13

Your parents didn't let you watch School of Rock?

Jassell B

Holy hell choose only 2 😱😱

Elisa H.

Clueless, School of Rock and Mean Girls are soooo great!! Legit hard af to choose lmao.

Chocolate Fart

Needing to choose between Mean Girls and Clueless is just CRUEL!! 😂

Liz Zero

Mr. Holland's Opus is a must watch for anyone who has ever appreciated a wonderful teacher

Aaron Weaver

Damn. These are all great. Summer School is just a classic 80s movie. MHO is a wonderfully beautiful movie.

Charlie Heist

Yes, Clueless is such a millennial classic!

Emiko Stinson

Sky High would also be a good one as it incorporates superheroes and high school

Brian Booher

Summer School is great. We were just watching it the other day. 80’s hidden classic. Clueless and School of Rock are good too.
