2023-10-19 03:01:17 +0000 UTCI grew up on Bleach and I recently came to appreciate how well the themes / emotional beats hold up compared to other classic childhood shonen (Naruto for example.......), but Jesus Christ some of those extended comedy scenes that have a third crack at the bit make me physically cringe

2023-10-19 02:00:58 +0000 UTCThe anime really liked to use comedy scenes throughout Bleach as padding - when you go back through to make your review, take note of when the Bleach comedy music track kicks in (you know the one) - there are a lot of times when the joke feels like it should end, and then it doubles back in on itself and does another round of the joke until that fucking track runs all the way to completion 💀

2023-10-19 01:58:26 +0000 UTCI'm rereading the manga alongside this reaction series and I can confirm that Pesche and dondochakkas presence is a lot lighter. Like they're there but the conversations with them are a lot shorter and more to the point. Same with Kon when he was around more often. Another thing that's kinda different is Grimmjow cut off Loly's whole leg in the manga. One of more than a few censors.
