Her and Hitsugaya were friends before becoming soul reapers, hence his relationship with her. #2: From the fight with Renji: As I previously mentioned, hollows will swarm more where there is high spiritual pressure. That as well as the fact that a high enough spiritual pressure can literally effect normal humans (make them pass out or feel like they are under extreme gravity) is why they are limited when going to the world of the living. Sort of like Zaraki's effect on Ichigo. #3: Captains have the white robes with the number of their squad on the back. Lieutenant's have the arm band with the golden plates. #4: These people aren't scum when they are helping souls pass on, this is basically like "Damn. I'm not on the clock, let me be a degenerate because I can." I didn't want to leave like 5 different comments, so I figured one would be best.
