I feel like the plan at the end of Volume 8 team RWBY made was way better than Ironwood's plan, which would have failed for the exact same reason, the artifact of knowledge would also have given the perfect answer of how to get the staff if Ironwood had succesfully run away with Atlas, but Mantle would have been eaten by the Grimm first, and Atlas would have hit the ground like a meteor from that high up, and way more people would have died, and the test from the gods is about humanity coming together, so Ruby helped by spreading knowledge and optimism all over the world

2023-10-09 23:24:58 +0000 UTCThis story makes complete sense for Ruby's character to me, remember that her first appearance in her chartacter trailer is killing like 50 wolves at her mother's grave, and in her first scene in the show, she's on her headphones listening to the theme song that has the lines "This world's unforgiving, even brilliant lights will cease to burn," and "Day and Night will sever, Hope and peace are lost forever."
