Ashleigh, while copied from the Internet, this is the accurate definition: “A proper Chicago dog is an all-beef frankfurter (such as Vienna Beef) in a poppy seed bun, topped with yellow mustard, neon-green sweet pickle relish, chopped white onion, tomato slices, a dill pickle spear, pickled sport peppers and celery salt.” I was going to recommend you try finding a Portillo’s near you as they do proper Chicago food (notably hot dogs and Italian Beef sandwiches) but apparently the closest to you is Indianapolis. And paperboys are real! I was one as a kid for my first job. Had a basket put on my bike and everything.😃 Oh, and a 900 phone number was the prefix for phone sex lines back in the day.
