WATCH ALONG: Arachnophobia

I love this movie. So glad you did too, Ashleigh. Five out of five stars indeed. While I was watching it, I kept waiting for the part that explains how the spiders breed without sex organs, like you kept asking about, and it never came. Then I realized what the explanation is. The one male who created and then mated with the queen has them. The rest are like drones, and they don't. The explanation is there, but it's not stated outright. Unless it was in that one scene where they were talking about the queen and I missed it. The volume on the copy I was watching wasn't that great, so I very well could have. As a rule, I am not paralyzingly afraid if spiders, but I get freaked out if they're on me, or, for some reason, if I happen to touch a web. Something about the feel of it scares me. Yes, there are spiders that are as large as the general depicted in the movie, but I believe they're only in places like Australia. I looked this up to be sure, but apparently, the largest type of spider in the world is a Goliath birdeater. They can grow large enough to cover a dinner plate, and their name comes from the fact that they will catch and suck dry even larger birds. You're welcome. :D Great reaction, Ashleigh. Lots of Hallowbeans fun.

In the video game Dragon Age: Inquisition there's a book you can find that has the writings of a scholar in the game on the nature of the giant spiders that are all over the place: the giant spiders are proof there's a god because they made the spiders nice and huge so you can see them. Imagine how terrifying it would be if spiders were tiny and could sneak up on you? Anyway, for a sillier spider movie, but still with some jump scares, with some giant spiders and a very young Marvel star, check out Eight-Legged Freaks.
