I'm positive Ashleigh will love X-men Origins: Wolverine. The internet is filled with people that want to hate on it, but people who are just watching and learning as they go are much more likely to just find it entertaining. Not bringing in the baggage of knowing how "certain things" were originally in the comics makes it very easy to like.

you were making a joke when Mystique pulled out a giant syringe of metal liquid and pumped it up the guards butt cheek in the bathroom stall. That was "Too much iron in your blood" that allowed Magneto to use it.
Also, Professor X would typically be able to resist mind control, but Stryker had placed that "neural inhibitor" on his head so that his son Jason could use his powers on Charles without resistance. That mind control liquid he was using on all the mutants was extracted from his son's spinal fluid.

Xavier is very strong. But that kid (his ex student) was also strong. There are different tiers of mutants. I don't know which movies the person that recommended this will let you watch. But you do learn more as the movies go on. Plus Wolverine has his own movies, as part of X-Men Origins. You also learn more about the mutants, including Jean Grey.

It was revealed in this movie, but I suppose the strength wasn't. I could probably edit that part, I guess. It is like the reveal of the Infinity Stones in ... Thor(?), as soon as that was shown people knew how it ended.

That's a very spoiler comment that hasn't been revealed in the movies yet.

Michael: Exactly. Comic books became huge for collectors in the '90s and then the market collapsed and almost took Marvel Comics with it. Marvel sold off the movie rights to all their A-list characters like the X-Men and Spider-Man just to keep their head above water. Then Blade and the first X-Men proved superhero movies could be profitable.
Even so, the first Iron Man movie was a huge gamble by Marvel. If it had failed, Marvel probably would have gone bankrupt and its characters sold off to DC or some other company. Instead, it ended up being big enough that Marvel started its own studio and then got bought by Disney.

and a lot of the movie rights were sold when the comic book industry almost collapsed in the 90's

If you have nightmares about twisters you should watch the movie Twister starring Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt

To put it very simply, Jean became "possessed" by Phoenix, a very, very strong cosmic (near lesser godlike) being. The outline of a phoenix was the reflection at the end.

Some mutants’ adaptations are not as “normal” passing…like Mystique and Nightcrawler.

I feel like we are inching closer and closer to Deadpool. That will be such a fun raction to see.....I can't wait. 😀
I also need to hurry up and watch Wandavision. Looks there is only 1 season.
But I've always hoped that Ashleigh would get to Thelma and Louise. Great movie, great cast.

I don't know what's on John's agenda, but there are backstory movies for both Wolverine and Mystique (plus several others).

X-Men have always been part of Marvel, just not the MCU. When it became obvious that superhero movies could be profitable, movie studios started buying up the rights to different properties. Fox bought up X-Men and Fantastic Four, Sony bought Spider-Man, Universal bought the Hulk, Disney bought up the rest of Marvel, and Warner Brothers bought up DC. This is why there are so many Spider-Man movies as why it was such a big deal to get him in the MCU. Also, since Disney bought Fox, now the X-Men are slowly entering the MCU, and a new Fantastic Four movie is coming.

The two-toned eyes thing is a genetic condition called "heterochromia", a really groovy mutation that will be mentioned again in X-Men: First Class.
