WATCH ALONG: Deathly Hallows 2

WATCH ALONG: Deathly Hallows 2

I'll have to admit that I waited until just now to watch this with you because I, like you, didn't want the series to end (even though I've seen it like 100 times hahah). I hope that you do get to read the books. There is so much more information in them with a whole bunch of back stories. JK Rowling also wrote additional digital books that you can find in iBooks or other sources that give more detailed backgrounds on some of the other main characters in the series. And if ever you get to missing the Harry Potter world, you should start watching the "Fantastic Beasts" series which is based on JK Rowling's book "Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them." They still haven't finished filming that series. I hope they do get to it.

The Doe Patronus that showed Harry the sword was Snape, not Lily.

Anika

She has done Wizard of Oz, for your Judy Garland request. I too would love to see her do some more classic musicals.

There’s an American man and a British man that read the Harry Potter books. The one I’m listening to right now is Stephen Fry, he’s British. I chose him because of the accent, all the characters in the movies had the British accent, so I wanted the books read by someone who had the same accent. The American reader is just as good, and I might actually listen to his as well, but I’m starting with Stephen Fry.

And isn’t there something about how Neville was also a possibility for being the Chosen One? The prophecy was just vague enough that it told the child’s birthday and Nevilles was near Harry’s.

The man who narrated the audiobooks won awards for how well he did. Can’t remember his name off the top of my head.

So glad you let us join you on this adventure! I’m hoping to see some more classic musicals come around. Not that I’m complaining! Love your content! Would be cool to see how you feel about Judy Garland or Fred Astaire or Audrey Hepburn.

Also Snape's line "Look at me. You have your mother's eyes." was his last look at Lily, the only person he ever loved. I mean Harry was the literal combination of the person he hated and loved the most. So he wanted to see the last part and connection to Lily, which were Harry's eyes.

I love love love the movies, but there are several key differences that make some of reasons why things happen the way they do a little different, not better or worse per se. So when Harry was a baby and V tried to kill him, Harry's mother sacrificed herself for Harry and in doing so cast a protection spell that if her blood is present, Harry cannot be killed. So that is why Harry was sent to live with the Dursley's as Petunia was Lily's sister and had the same blood so Harry would be safe with them. And then in Goblet of Fire, at the end of the tournament, in the grave yard, when Voldemort finally was resurrected by Wormtail, they used Harry's blood, which is Lily's blood, and now Voldemort has Lily's blood which protects Harry. That is why Voldemort couldn't kill Harry in the forrest where he killed the horcrux part of Harry but not Harry himself. Also as the Elder Wand belonged to Harry, I can't remember this anymore, but it's nearly impossible or straight impossible to kill a wizard with their own wand. So there's that.

He wasn't holding it when Voldemort killed hime. We are shown he let go of it after he talked the dead. And no, Harry didn't die, only the Horcrux part of him died.

There is also a sequel play called The Cursed Child that you can read. It's a pretty quick read. It follows one of Harry's kids and his friend, Draco's son... I forgot their names sorry. But there's a lot of the original trio as well.

It's not made very clear in the movie but Harry did die. But because he was holding the Resurrection Stone when Voldemort killed him, he was able to resurrect homeself.

If you decide to read the books, you can always do audiobooks. I read the whole series through twice and every time you read a book you find out something new that you didn’t realize the first time you read it. I know it’s a huge undertaking reading, seven books, but you were so in tune to this universe. How do you watch the movies, I think you would enjoy it. I love your reactions as always. I think you should take some time to watch the deleted scenes. There are two scenes with the Dursley‘s, as well as quite a few others, that should’ve been put into the movie in my opinion. Once you watch the deleted scenes, there is a 20 year reunion special that you might get a kick out of. Thank you for choosing to complete this series of stories, I had fun reliving them with you.

I had a difficult time remembering all the horcruxes the first time I watched this. Glad there are hhappy endings, but Harry didn't get together with Hermione.

Lilly chose James because he cosplayed as Chewbacca one year and they made out; honest it was in the books.

Jack Jones

Ashleigh, you remembered all the horcruxes (Nagini, the cup, the ring, the book, the diadem, and the locket) but when Voldemort split his soul into 7 pieces, one of those was his actual self (the first split into two would have been him and the first horcrux). Harry was unintentional and unknown to him until he “killed” him in the forest. Great reactions all franchise long, it’s been so great rewatching these through your eyes!

Watching along now. Thank you for doing this series. :)
