EARLY ACCESS: Deathly Hallows Part 2

EARLY ACCESS: Deathly Hallows Part 2

Technically, Tom Riddle asked about splitting his soul into seven pieces: 6 horcrux and himself. Seven. Harry was piece number eight, but the seventh horcrux no one but a select few knew about. That's why Ron said six. There was supposed to be only 6 horcrux.

Love your journey…. Listen to the audiobooks if you want to do things while still reading! Love your sincerity and your openness about yourself.

That's an interesting way to spell 'bullied.' And not just Harry, but all of his students. I think it's a pretty sad state of affairs when a student's greatest fear is one of his teachers. McGonagall challenged her students and was a strict taskmaster, but her students didn't *fear* her. I'd agree that Snape is complicated and definitely not evil, but he's for sure an a$$hole. Lily didn't owe him anything, especially after he called her a mudblood and started hanging out with Voldemort's crowd. And James shouldn't have bullied Snape, but your childhood trauma is no excuse for being a hateful, miserable adult. Get some therapy and move on, don't bully children!

Harry also adopTed lupine son. Harry did die when Voldemort killed him but he sacrificed himself and it saved his life. The books show so much more.

I completely agree!! I was in love with the idea of Harry/Luna & Ginny/Neville too

Before the first film, before the second book, my millennial daughter and my wife read the first Harry Potter book and urged me to read it. They hated Snape. I read the book and stated that Snape was a good guy -- he was challenging Harry to be a fighter, not just rely on his past. Without real training Harry could never defeat Voldemort. And Snape was the only teacher who challenged Harry.

I loved Hermione & Ron so much, but if I had to change any couples around, is it terrible that I would want Harry to be with Luna? Idk I’d just think they’d be so sweet together. And Ginny with Neville. Anyway, Ashleigh, you aren’t alone in how you grew up not watching or reading these books and feeling left out of something special. There’s a lot of us catching up/caught up to this amazing series ❤️

There’s a 20th anniversary special on HBO with the cast and producers talking about each movie, you should react to that too!

Debating whether to say it or not... I'll probably get flack for it but i think Snape would have been a better father for Harry.

She was saying, I'm gonna marry him!

Here we go. I loved part two of deathly hollows with two exceptions. The final fight between Harry and Voldemort in the books occurred in the great hall with everyone watching. As they were fighting, they were talking to each other, and Harry was able to clear Snape of the hatred people had for him. He was able to explain that he was supposed to kill Dumbledore because Dumbledore asked him to. Second, when the fight was over, and Harry had the elder wand in his possession, in the book, he uses the elder wand to repair his wand that got broken. Then he takes the elder wand and puts it back in Dumbledore‘s tomb with him. That way when Harry, dies, the elder long will no longer have its power. Harry was also able to clear up for Voldemort that it’s not the last person who kills the owner of the wand that is now the master of it, it’s the person who diss arms, the owner of the wand that has the wand loyalty. Voldemort misunderstood so many things that actually became part of his downfall. When Harry walked up to Voldemort in the dark forest, knowing he was going to be killed, there were two things Harry didn’t realize. Number one by volunteering and giving up his life for those he loved (meaning everybody at Hogwarts teachers students, the Weasley, family, etc.) he was invoking the same protection that his mother provided for him when he was a baby. Number two, Dumbledore knew this, but if you remember, Dumbledore said that Voldemort had to be the one to kill Harry. It was the only way to kill the piece of Voldemort soul that lived in Harry. So when Voldemort pointed his wand in Harry and said Avada Kedavra, he killed the part of his soul that lived in Harry, but did not kill Harry. I know you said that you wouldn’t have saved Malfoy in the room of requirement, but if you think about it, Malfoy may not have openly protected Harry but not telling Bellatrix it was him, he gave Harry a fighting chance of getting out of there alive. Then in the dark forest, when Voldemort “killed“ Harry, once Harry verified that Draco was alive, Draco’s mom lied to Voldemort to his face and said Harry was dead when she knew he was alive. So the Malfoys, at least the mom and Draco helped Harry. Now that you’re done with the movies, you have to watch the deleted scenes. There’s a few of them that are very poignant, and in my opinion should’ve been included. As always, I loved your reaction!

Ginny meets Harry for the first time when he's trying to get onto Platform 9-3/4. He meets the Weasleys and follows them in. In the second movie, Harry is "kidnapped" by Ron to come to The Burrow, and is sitting down to breakfast when Ginny runs down the stairs and sees Harry. This is the scene I love. Harry says "hello" to her, and her eyes get huge, and she runs away. Adorable.

So much to say, but I will try to keep it short. Think of the Death Eaters like a cult. Snape was raised by a witch and a muggle who hated magic. Hated most everything, according to Snape. His only friend was Lily -- the only person who was kind to him. When he got to Hogwarts, he was sorted into Slytherin and accepted by a whole new group of people. And Lily went to Gryffindor. They slowly grew apart, mostly because of Snape's new friends. In a moment of weakness and shame and anger, he lashed out at Lily and she rejected him for good. But he never stopped loving her. Now, some people call it obsessive and unhealthy, but I disagree. Why would he stop loving the only person who ever showed him love? Because I believe Lily did love him, if only as friends, until he pushed her away. Imagine the pain he must have felt, every time he looked at Harry. The eyes of the woman he loved, in the face of his greatest tormenter. A constant reminder of his own failure, of his own pain. And it was his own fault. He wanted to blame James, but he knew that it was his own hatred that drove Lily away. If not for that love, though, he never could have protected and helped Harry. He did it all for her. (So much for keeping it short. Sorry. 😅)
