EARLY ACCESS: The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance

If Western's aren't your thing - the intro is still just... an ADHD joyride.

My first time seeing John Wayne!

EARLY ACCESS: The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance

Comments

If ur gonna watch another John Wayne movie, you should watch True Grit. It's the movie he won best actor for.

drew

Please watch the Searchers!!!

Jordan Wyant

I think "The Quiet Man" is a Great Non-Western John Wayne Movie...

James Falato

I was so excited to see Jimmy Stewart again. Pretty please watch Alfred Hitchcock’s The Rope from 1948. One of my favorite movies.

Rebecca Anne

Yep, it is a "me" pick, and I have zero clue what Ashleigh will think, and 100% certainty that it will be an entertaining reaction :D

Michael Tocci

She might like the visuals (especially for 1968 standards), and Hal might be a pretty effective antagonist for her. But yeah, I really think she's going to be bored by it overall, even before she gets to the trippy final act. Just the fact that every scene just moves so slowly, I think that's going to get on her nerves. She might surprise me and enjoy it, but I can't imagine her giving it more than 3 out of 5 stars.

Sonya Anzaldua

I have no idea what she'd think of Dr. Strangelove, but I think she should at least be introduced to Peter Sellers first (preferably through the Pink Panther movies) before tackling that one.

Sonya Anzaldua

If Silverado made to a poll I think it would win.

Lynette Cummins

I think she would like 2010 more but that's just a guess.

Lynette Cummins

I haven't seen Revenge in a long time. Great movie request.

Lynette Cummins

2001 is definitely going to be a head scratcher for her. When she announced it, the first thing I thought of was Dr. Strangelove too.

Bruce Devine

Now she has to watch The Thin Man so that she can watch The Thin Man Goes Home. She said she hasn't seen James Stewart in a role different from what he did in Liberty Valance and Wonderful Life. This is the best way to do it.

Bruce Devine

Recommended John Wayne movies: "Stagecoach" (his breakout role), "The Quiet Man", "Red River", "Rio Bravo" and "The Searchers".

Bruce R Wilson

Yeah that looks to be Tocci's pick for this month. I'm torn as it is so iconic and definitely one of "your older classics", but I don't anticipate Ashleigh loving much about it. My memory keeps pulling up the "gee, that's a nice lamp" line from her The Godfather watch, just desperate to find something to be interested by. Hey, I could always be wrong, she's surprised me once in a while with liking things.

Kenton Kruger

Early access timestamp 10:00, I don't know why I thought the rest of the sentence was going to be a reference to Se7en. (If ya' know, ya' know)

CinWin

I wonder if she would like Kevin Costner's Open Range or Dances with Wolves. Or maybe Revenge!

Jacob Colson

I wonder if she would've dug Dr. Strangelove.

Jacob Colson

If westerns are on the table, you can't get away from not watching "McClintock" starring john wayne, his son, and Maureen O'Hara....

Nate Terry

Great reaction, but (unrelated) did she say she was going to watch 2001: A Space Odyssey? I enjoyed that movie, but man, Ashleigh is gonna have such a hard time with it! 😭

Sonya Anzaldua

For another John Wayne with a bit of a twist, The Quiet Man would be fun to watch around St. Patrick's Day.

Katie Horrocks

SILVERADO - 29 year old Kevin Costner is just one member of a great cast.
