WATCH ALONG: Clerks

WATCH ALONG: Clerks

Comments

No shame in any number!

Tyler Foster

The store featured is actually the store in which Smith worked and he was allowed to film there at night. Which is of course why the shutters had to be shut to hide the fact it wasn't daytime for the majority of the film.

The Goateed Geek

Right after Dante pulls off the pringles canister off that guy's arm she makes a small moan. Because he says, "I think it's coming." Lol

Jacob Colson

All the prices end in 9 because it's a marketing thing. $13.99 sounds cheaper to customers than $14.

Cosmic Slice

🤨 Beg your pardon?

Nick of Time

I loved Ashleigh's seal and her coming noise. Lol

Jacob Colson

Isn't this film where the whole number 37 lore comes from?

Jacob Colson

It's available on Paramount Plus.

Andy H.

Uhhhh 😳

Nick of Time

Is 36 a lot?? ;)

Jill Peterson

Some more Kevin Smith films Ash might like: Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back, Clerks II, even though some people may not have liked Clerks II as much as I did.

Jacob Colson

In a row?

Stevilicious

Kevin Smith can ABSOLUTELY get it!

Jill Peterson

I think Ash is viewing the theatrical cut. Unfortunately, the only free streaming version I can find is on Pluto and it's about 15 minutes longer that Ash's whole video (in addition to having ads).

Kevin Mowery

I had to watch along and then the short version too lol.

Christy

I couldn't tell from a quick glance if she watched through the credits (First Cut has a post-credit scene), so bailed until I could research more closely (or somebody here could answer). That said, the First Cut is longer by 8-12 minutes (can't remember off the top of my head.)

Thomas Yanez

Based on the length of the video, I think it's the theatrical cut. Unless the 10th anniversary edition is also the same runtime.

Andy H.

Anybody know yet if this is the Theatrical Cut or First Cut (also known as "10th Anniversary Edition")

Thomas Yanez

This is probably my least favorite of the View Askewniverse (Dogma and Mallrats being my favorite) but I appreciate it's place as a cult classic and still find it enjoyable.
