EARLY ACCESS: Clerks 1994

Comments

There is no director's cut of Mallrats, in the sense that there is a longer version but Smith explicitly explains that it is only meant as a curiosity/DVD extra, and that the version to watch is the theatrical cut.

Tyler Foster

Btw, a bj is no where near the same as touching a boob, lol.

Dale Hardy

For those suggesting following up with the other Kevin Smith movies, I think it's best to go in chronological order of release to see the progression of a couple characters. They change so much over time I think it makes more sense to see the steps.

Kenton Kruger

Anderson was concerned about having to read all those porn titles, knowing sooner or later his mother would want to see the movie her baby boy was in. He brought these concerns to Smith who agreed to rewrite the scene for him, but in rewriting it he actually added many more worse titles to the list, as we see in the film.

Nick of Time

Funnier, crazier, more outlandish, riskier, more ambitious, and surprisingly heartwarming to boot. Such a great movie!

Nick of Time

I'm so looking forward to your reaction to Clerks 2! It's even funnier in my opinion.

Mike D

My cousin recommended Clerks to me when it was released on home video. Fell in love with the films of Kevin Smith. Now.... kinda wish he'd stop making them. Hahaha.

Stevilicious

I had completely forgotten about the ex girlfriend f**king the dead guy. I was in my house alone, busting out laughing at Ashleigh's reaction.

Deirdre Barthle

Fun Fact: At 10 minutes Jeff Anderson (Randall) was uncomfortable saying those titles in front of the actual child so that’s why the clip is so close to his face. The kid wasn’t actually there for the reading of those porn names. That’s actually sweet…in a clerks sort of way. 😁 I’m so glad you liked this movie. It’s one of my favorites and I adore Kevin Smith. (In my book, he could totally get it) 😉

You and your buddy were in tune to the small indie film scene that much?

ingibingi2000

I agree with the Beverly Hills Cop suggestion.

This is one of favorite movies. I worked in a video store and my buddy worked at 7-11. We actually called in sick to see it opening day. I can't wait for you to watch more Kevin Smith films.

Cass&Jason

Ah yes. Forgot about that one

Mark Finley

If you end up watching "Mallrats" (the next movie in line of the good Kevin Smith movies), can you tell us beforehand if it's the theatrical or director's cut? Most people are familiar to the theatrical version, but there are sites that only have the director's cut.

Leaf on the Wind

And Coming to America.

Kenton Kruger

She did not. Her only Eddie Murphy experience is with Shrek and trading places

Mark Finley

I thought she did beverly hills cop? Or maybe I'm thinking of another channel

Kevin Charley

that would be a good one. I've been mentioning it too.

Mark Finley

When that dude is in the video store and he's giving a vague reference to some movie and those VHS movies are right behind him, top left "A League of Their Own", right beside his screen right ear "Death Becomes Her" and lower left it looks like the cover to "Lethal Weapon".

Jacob Colson

How many times do I have to request Beverly Hills Cop?!?!? ;) I don't really care, I'll continue to support you, Ashley, I love your reactions. :)
