And Hope Floats. I think it was her first producing or director gig. So good!!

Louise Brooks

Yes! Practical Magic is so good! Also another Sandra movie that I highly recommend Ashleigh check out is While You Were Sleeping! I think it's also time that she see John Wick for Keanu!

I just knew you'd love this movie. For another great Keanu/Sandra flick, The Lake House. For Sandra, her award-winning. The Blind Side (based on a true story) and for Keanu, ya' just gotta see Point Break.

I love the Net! And it’s not Sandra but another fun “old” technology movie is Cellular

And more Sandra, for Hallobeans: Practical Magic! It's witchy and fun (not horror), and Nicole Kidman's character will give you a thousand cosplaying goals.

Lola Lirola

Another Sandra Bullock movie that is retro fun: The Net! Come for the hilariously outdated computers, stay for the action-packed mystery. And references to Hitchcock (which you haven't seen, but they're a little Easter Egg). Also, fun fact: The Net created the "order a pizza online" as a futuristic imaginary situation, and someone saw the movie, and created the very first web page where you could do just that!

The Matrix is a must-see. Critical.

OMG I don’t know why at this stage but I can’t believe you’ve never seen Keanu in a movie before! You’ve got to do John Wick, Point Break, The Matrix & the two Bill and Ted movies!

I have to beg to differ. Cary Elwes is my soon to be ex husband then again so are a few others in that film too lol. Great cast, lots of fun with great acting. There is only one thing I gotta say. We got cows :D

This was back before anyone knew how to pronounce Keanu. Most people were still calling him "Canoe" at this point in time.

And I do believe the same guy scored both movies, no? Mark Mancina. I love the instrumental score of Twister. And if Ashleigh watches the film, she has to watch all of the end credits to hear the greatness that is "Respect the Wind" by Alex & Eddie Van Halen. And it helps that Twister has one of Ashleigh's many soon-to-be ex-husbands Cary Elwes (from Princess Bride, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, Saw, among others.)

Girl, I also remember seeing it in movie theaters and just being wide-eyed with fright. It was awesome and cool but severe weather/tornados/etc make me nauseous it's not even funny. (I felt the same way when I came out of the movie theater seeing Final Destination 2 and just being scared to death on the drive home.)

Jacob Colson

Yes for Twister, its a classic

I remember seeing Twister when it was in theaters. It was like one of the few must movies you had to see in theaters at the time. I think Ashley would have alot of fun with that one.

Ashleigh, the "weird" guy on the bus, Alan Ruck, also played Cameron in Ferris Bueller's Day Off. And another great Jan de Bont film to check out, Twister. If you see that movie, you'll recognize a few of the actors that were in this film.

I love this movie. It's a simple plot, but it is executed perfectly, with no time wasted on anything that further the intensity of the action. And the chemistry between Keanu and Sandra is just magnificent. I've probably seen it 20 times now, and I still get all wrapped up in the exciting moments. So glad you watched it and shared it with us. Gotta make a recommendation based on this one: Silver Streak, from 1976. Gene Wilder in an action movie, you know he could get it. You'd love this one.

My favorite Keanu performance and, as a lifelong Angeleno, one of my favorite LA movies. It captures the real city, the diversity, the traffic, the attitudes, the tourists, the freeways. No beach locations, only one Hollywood location. Because everyone knows us for those things, but we’re a lot more than that. The water barrels on the freeway exit ramps, for instance. That’s a real thing. I think it’s intended to act as a cushion rather than someone running into the wall and shearing their car in half. And yes, it’s completely realistic that there’d be an incomplete freeway and an incomplete subway at the same time. LA is constantly expanding, which means constant infrastructure work. There’s always multiple freeways having work done. And in 1994, there really wasn’t much to our subway system. It was active downtown, but they were still building the rest of it, including Hollywood. Anyway, great LA movie.
