We are moving hubben back home today!!!! But because of this I have not been able to edit a theatrical watch along yet. I promise I will get that edited and up as soon as possible tomorrow!

Yeah I'm pretty bummed as well. Sent a message asking about it on Thursday and got radio silence, so I guess we're out of luck unless it shows up out of nowhere.

I don't mind spending a few bucks to rent a movie for a watch along but if there's no way for anyone to watch it without the dvd/bluray that's a bummer.

2022-08-05 00:29:27 +0000 UTCNo, I don't think you are missing it. Now that Ashleigh has moved on to posting Friday's movie my hope of seeing a theatrical version posted has diminished considerably. It is very disappointing but all of us without a physical copy of the extended version might have to settle for the YouTube edit.

2022-08-03 04:40:43 +0000 UTCYeah, the only way to watch the extended version is if you purchased a hard copy. Apparently, it was also aired on TV as well, though I cannot remember which networks. Those are the only two ways to see this version of the film.

2022-08-02 01:32:05 +0000 UTCFirst things first—love the Snape shirt! I gotta get me one of them. You’re not alone, a lot of people feel that this is the weakest of the HP movies. Like you said, it has some annoying characters (though I do have a soft spot for Lockhart) and drags a little. But you’re also right that it set up a lot of backstory for future movies, so it was necessary to learn this stuff. The good news is it only gets better from here. And yes, Dobby does manage to win you over by the end of the book/movie. His loyalty to Harry is undeniable and I’m sad that we don’t get his full story in the movies like we do the books. Oh, to clear up a few things—Harry isn’t his master technically because it was Lucius who gave him the sock by physically placing it in his hands (inside the book, but still). Dobby has no master now. Dobby is a free elf. 😊 And Voldemort wasn’t possessing Tom; Tom later becomes Voldemort, this was his teenage self (though it is a little confusing in the movie) preserved as a memory. So Tom disintegrating doesn’t really have any effect on Voldemort because it wasn’t actually him—just a memory of him. It’s confusing, I know. Anyway, great job on calling a few things while watching! I know we’ll probably have to wait awhile, but I’m excited for the next movie! It really is a great one, and it’s the favorite of many fans. Hope you and hubben are well, see you for Speed!

2022-08-01 14:10:44 +0000 UTCIt wasn’t how long Hagrid was gone, it was where he went to that got them all so emotional. You’ll find out more about that place next movie. Also the majority of students love Hagrid. He is a very warm and caring person while even the nice teachers at Hogwarts, being teachers, have to maintain a certain professional distance from the children. Remembering that these kids are separated from their parents and their homes at 11 and spend the majority of every year for 7 years thereafter at Hogwarts. Hagrid serves simultaneously as a mother as he is so gentle and kind and a protective father figure given his size for the children. You might say he is their security blanket in a sometimes very strange and potentially frightening environment.

2022-08-01 03:41:39 +0000 UTCHagrid got a standing ovation because remember he was accused of opening the chamber of secrets 50 years ago and was expelled. then when Ginny opened it this time, since the teachers didn't know who, the ministry suspected Hagrid and sent him to prison. Potter pretty much exposed the truth and that kinda vindicated Hagrid of the crime of Moaning Myrtle's death and petrification's.

Theatrical versions are always available, and aren't they the original movie experience that you are seeking to reproduce anyways?
