I wanna know
Added 2022-07-20 23:12:45 +0000 UTCokay so today's poll got some push back about HP being up there with older movies - and ya know, after reading your comments, it makes total sense.
So! Now answer this poll for me okay!
Redoing the poll doesn't bother me one bit so don't think that it will mess up my schedule or anything like that!

While You Were Sleeping would make a perfect Monday, December 26th movie this year.

2022-07-28 22:19:03 +0000 UTCSome great movies that stand the test of time, while you were sleeping , you’ve got mail, old yeller, Arsenic and old lace, my favorite wife, looking for love

2022-07-25 14:51:14 +0000 UTCWhat i like about the older movies is editing was more complicated and when they filmed a scene, actors/actress had to perform flawlessly in just one take. In my opinion, thats what makes them great. I'm a big fan of the twilight zone black and white episodes.
2022-07-24 08:48:26 +0000 UTCI agree. The tag "older, classic movies" seems to mean "movies made when [the suggestor] was young. We've seen how a movie like "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner?" can really stand the test of time, and is in many ways superior to almost all of the current movies. There are so many truly "classic" movies, it seems a shame to watch only 80's and 90's movies. I think the "voting" scheme is also a problem. That selects movies for popularity, not quality. And the demographics of the channel are going to skew even the popularity numbers. So I agree that some sort of decade-oriented scheme would help to find those real classics, even though they are less known and less popular. Ashleigh sets these up, so it would not be hard to have, perhaps, a write-in for "best movie from the 40's" poll, and she can then put the most-recommended up for a vote.

2022-07-23 18:26:19 +0000 UTCA difficult one for me, I think pre-1980's movies are important to watch. In fact I'd raise that to pre-1970's. There's a wealth of movies that younger people don't get exposed to.

2022-07-21 21:58:48 +0000 UTCThat movie is among my favorites. I may be getting my movie decades confused, but His Girl Friday, The Thin Man, and Topper are great 1930s films as well.
2022-07-21 21:55:49 +0000 UTCShe'd love a movie like "It Happened One Night." Nearly all the humor still holds up, even from 1934. And I'm pretty sure Clark Gable "could get it."

2022-07-21 20:56:23 +0000 UTCI think her MMM group is made up of people who are 40 at the most and more likely under 35. I would vote for either of those movies if they came up, but I'm sure that most millennials have never heard of either of them.

2022-07-21 18:31:18 +0000 UTCI suggested a while back that one week a month have a poll of great movies from the 30s, then the next month the 40s, then 50s. Maybe have a poll about that:
2022-07-21 18:22:37 +0000 UTCpeople dont wanna redo it cause they want HP to win xD

2022-07-21 14:21:35 +0000 UTCIt's your site. Your choice. Do the polls as you wish. You picked four movies you were interested in watching. Why should they have to have a "theme"? If people want you to watch an older, more classic film, they can pick that one. If they want you to continue with a franchise, they can pick that one instead. If they don't find a specific movie they'd like to see you to watch in the poll, they can mention it in the comments. ***cough cough***The Room***cough cough***
2022-07-21 14:02:57 +0000 UTCOh man, don't get me started. I have a wish list from each decade that I would love for her to see, but Unless a MMM wants to see them, I know they will never win a poll. I think the top two are Rear Window and Gone with the Wind.

2022-07-21 14:01:41 +0000 UTCToo many movies from 1980 to present. So many good ones from the 30s, 40s, and 50s that millennials don't know about so never get suggested.

2022-07-21 13:46:31 +0000 UTCThank you for asking for this level of feedback. I've pointed out obviously loaded polls, the kind everyone knows how they're going to turn out as soon as they're posted, to some Patreon creators before and it's always been crickets as a response. That being said I agree with Tom Evans ... keep the poll as is and note it for the future.

2022-07-21 03:56:44 +0000 UTCI'd suggest to keep the poll as is, and just try to look out for imbalances like that when putting together future polls.
