For those who had complicated relationships with our fathers, especially related to what we would do when we grew up and chasing your passions, this movie never fails to make me bawl like a baby.

Robin Buckley, from Stranger Things, played by Maya Hawke is the daughter Ethan Hawke who played Todd Anderson. I feel old now.

I feel old....Hi-Fi, not high five. Hi-Fi is high fidelity...meaning radio. Also, a collect call was when you were at a pay phone and needed to call someone, but didn't have any money to make the call. You would dial 0 to get the operator, tell them your name and the number you wanted to call, and then they would call the person and say "You have a collect call from Ashleigh, will you accept the charges?" If yes, then that person's phone bill would be charged for the call. Eventually it was an automated system, not a live operator, so you would dial the number and an automated voice would say "please state your name" However, you could say anything, you didn't have to say your name because it was a computer. So you could say something like "mom, come pick me up," so when your mom got the "collect call" she would NOT accept the charges meaning the call never went through, her phone bill never got charged, however, she got to hear your message. :-)

I wasn't going to do the Watch-Along because I wasn't planning on watching this movie, but I woke up today and felt like I needed to be inspired and entertained, and I'm glad that I watched it. Fun watch-along as always and so glad you liked it. It's not one of my all-time favorite Robin Williams movies, but it did remind me just how amazing of an actor he was and how inspiring this movie can be. Thanks for watching it!

Re: that question about Stranger Things 4, the comparison between Vecna and Freddy Krueger was intentional. They even cast the actor who played Freddy, Robert Englund, as Victor Creel.

Schools like this exist. Remember, this takes place in the 60s, so things have changed a bit. If given the opportunity, (read $$) I would have sent my boys to a school like this, but I would not have been an asshole about it. We have two boarding schools in my city, and they are quite prestigious.
