EARLY ACCESS: Grumpier Old Men

Apologies for the late upload!  Just landed in DC and hubben and I had some 😜married things😜 to take care of! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

The watch along is currently going through Youtube's HD processing, and I'll have that up as soon as I can!

Ashleigh: β€œhubben and I had some married things to take care of!” Mal: β€œOh, God! I can’t know that!” Jayne: β€œI could stand to hear a little more.”

Wally Hartshorn

Two more great Matthau movies are Charade and Hopscotch.

Bruce Devine

Burgess Meredith has a major role in Batman (1966).

No, I don't hate you. It was just a suggestion, that's all.

I don't think we need to see a James Caan movie because he passed.....agree with Kenton. We have covered his most known movies. Just because someone passes away does not mean we need to watch another movie of his.......hate me if you must...... I don't care.

Lynette Cummins

If you really dig Burgess Meredith, check him out in his episodes of The Twilight Zone. "Time Enough at Last", "Mr. Dingle, the Strong", "The Obsolete Man" and my personal favorite Twilight Zone episode "Printer's Devil."

Please watch My Girl!

Yeah I was not meaning to disrespect, but as came up a few weeks ago, when you start doing tribute views for every name (even just the fairly big ones) when they pass, those 52 slots a year can get gobbled up pretty darn fast. In this case she's already seen the biggest two movies he's known for. I would think even if she starts giving a verbal acknowledgement of their passing, maybe mentioning the reviews she's done of them, in a case like this would be enough.

Kenton Kruger

Gardens of Stone, maybe?

Jacob Colson

I would like to think that it could be out of respect for a good man. Maybe do the 1981 Thief. Has a great cast in it too. A few surprise faces :)

Mickey Blue Eyes is another fun late 90s rom-com with James Caan.

Kelly Marie

I was so excited to see you were going to watch the sequel! I love both movies, and loved the interactions between Max and Maria!

Tara M. Wilcoxon

Brian's Song

Paul Johnson

Well, she's already done Misery and The Godfather, so not sure a tribute movie reaction is really needed.

Kenton Kruger

Well, James Caan just passed away. R.I.P. Rollerball, maybe? The Program?

Jacob Colson

Huzzah! That was fun!

I mentioned Houseboat ealier. Sophia Loren AND Cary Grant.

Walter Matthau (Max) - The Bad News Bears (1976). Very funny and influential film. Would be interested to see how Ashleigh reacts to a lot of the 70s things in the movie that are unacceptable now (not meaning just the language). Jack Lemmon (John) - Irma la Douce (1963). Also with Shirley MacLaine only in her 20s here. Ashleigh has liked older Shirley, I'm curious on her take of a young one.

Kenton Kruger

It still works without knowing Cary Grant, but yes it does add to it.

Kenton Kruger

Some Like it Hot is being referenced. Again, due to an extended, and very funny gag in that film, it is important that Ashleigh see at least one Cary Grant film. I think she would adore Bringing Up Baby. I'm also holding out hope for Arsenic and Old Lace come Hallobeans. Oh, and by all means - The Odd Couple!
