The quote is from a book called Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens. There is a 1968 movie called 'Oliver!' based on a theatre musical that is based on the book. It is a great movie musical. I'm not saying to put in on a poll, but you may want to check it out for yourself since you have a theater education. It won the Academy Award for Best Picture. I've watched it as a teenager when it was shown on TV. It has popular songs that you may have heard, but not know where they are from: Consider Yourself (at home) and I'll Do Anything (for you dear, anything).
