The first time I heard Jar Jar speak, my heart went cold. His accent is an almost exact copy of the way black people were made to talk in old movies (see Gone With The Wind) All the "yeesa meesa" crap is too close to "yessa massa," which is just "yes sir, master" in the old stereotypical slave speak. This movie is a little slow. I agree that Empire is the best out of all of them. But girl, you need to complete the prequels because you forgot some key parts that would’ve helped you understand this one a lot better. At least finish them to complete the story that leads into Star Wars!

I think there is definite bias when you grew up with the original trilogy. The generations after us don’t despise the prequels NEARLY as much as is proper. 😜😜😜 (Joke, people…sort of…😁).

First thing I thought, “Well it’s not really a spoiler, because she just forgot….BUT let her figure it out.” Not only did you wreck the moment of revelation for her putting it together, you wrecked it for all of us viewers, because that would have been an EPIC realisation for us to see in real time. And there is no “ Remastered” version of the Prequels—Episode 1 came out in 1999, and Lucas went back and remastered the old 70’s/80’s movies so that they would LOOK like the newer ones. (And to raise money for making them.)

All we can say here is: THEY GET BETTER. Well, somewhat. And by “better”, we mean that there is a radical group of SW fans who argue that there is no earthly canonical reason to watch Phantom Menace at ALL, compared to the plots that Episode 2 gets going from scratch. Qui-Gon? Never mentioned again, except in passing. Anakin? His story doesn’t start until he becomes a Jedi padawan. Amidala? Not a queen anymore. (It’s an elected position.) Pod racing? Gone. Darth Maul? Killed off before we have the faintest clue who he is. The nasty frogs? Only a throwaway diversionary villain. If you’re left with the feeling of “What did I just WATCH for two hours?”, we’ve been wondering the same thing for twenty years. 🤔

Your not the only one that was disappointed in this one. A lot of people were when this came out. But it gets much better when you see 2 and 3.
