I loved "The Flim-Flam Man"...gotta love George C. Scott I have previously advocated for "They Might Be Giants" and "The Changeling" on these boards...but let's throw in "Patton" and "Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb" as well

2022-04-23 02:53:07 +0000 UTCRegarding the hand gesture for when he shoots his webs, in the comics, he didn't have the "organic" web shooting ability. It was a formula that he came up with and had "web-shooter" devices on his wrists and the triggers were on the palms of his hands. So, even though they changed it from the mechanical shooters, they wanted his motions and poses to be the same from the comics and cartoons. The idea for having it just be part of him actually came from a different, future version of Spider-man, from the year 2099. As it turns out, in the books, there are lots of Spider-man's (Spider-men? Spider-people, actually.) these days.

2022-04-22 02:52:22 +0000 UTCAs you noted in the movie: Peter Parker was the first comic superhero to have real problems, he is a teen, in high school, nerd, girls, money, living with his aunt, his boss hates Spiderman and many more. Your normal comic book reader can't relate with Bruce Wayne, Clark Kent, Tony Stark; here they found one of their own, a superhero as well.

2022-04-22 00:49:41 +0000 UTCThe main reason Willem Dafoe is so fit for his age is he has been doing an hour and a half of Ashtanga Yoga every day for over 43 years. That is some dedication. He is so bendy he could put his head between his legs and kiss his own booty. ;) A not so fun fact: Toby Maquire almost drowned in the upside down kissing scene in the rain because the water kept filling his nose up being upside down. He powered thru though.

Let's take a moment to appreciate what a massive hit this movie was on release. Without even adjusting for inflation, Spider-Man (2002) made more money at the box office than either of the first two proper MCU Spider-Man films. Arguably, Spider-Man set the standard for superhero movies for eyars to come. And Spider-Man 2 is still one of the best superhero movies ever made.

2022-04-22 00:12:20 +0000 UTCOK, so Spider-Man (2002) and its 2 sequels Spider-Man 2 and 3 are their own universe separate from the MCU. Some people call it the Raimiverse after its director. Then Sony Pictures rebooted it in 2012 as The Amazing Spider-Man and its sequel Amazing Spider-Man 2 in 2014. Those star Andrew Garfield in the role. Also a separate universe, sometimes called the Sonyverse. Spider-Man DOES show up in the MCU, this time played by Tom Holland, and you'll actually see his first appearance fairly soon.

2022-04-21 20:37:13 +0000 UTCI watched that show as a kid. Since Spiderman was on the Electric Company, I was all about him. In the early 80's I collected comics and Spiderman was my favorite. I even got a raggity Spiderman #1 that I got at a comic convention for $25.
