I'm pretty sure you can get a strike for even just including lyrics.

I think the audience would accept the fact that the music has to be silenced for copyright. She could add the lyrics on-screen as captions on top of the muted video, as well, to assist.

I'm sure she's concerned about copyright for a musical, but other people do it, so I can't see why can't get away with it. I've seen youtubers live stream hamilton, sync it up at the beginning and not stop until it's over. The problem is everyone at home has to have the movie. I don't know how many people have HBO max, but it's on there at the moment.

I had a feeling you might get a kick out of this one - the thing I like about Weird Al is that his stuff is usually hilarious but doesn't punch down. There are some questionable jokes that you for sure couldn't get away with nowadays, but overall it's a pretty silly, but wholesome experience.
ALSO! If you need recommendations for Hallowbeans, I wholeheartedly recommend The Strangers and You're Next!

I love that you got to see this movie!! I saw this in theaters. It got more of a cult following. It ran against the first Batman movie in '89. The reference from the beginning between MGM and Orion; Orion Pictures became bankrupt shortly after UHF was released. It was difficult to get this movie finally to DVD and BluRay. It also took quite a while to get to iTunes as well.
You did say you should watch Close Encounters again. Please do so!! I would have enjoyed watching the entire movie with you, along with the Back to the Future trilogy.
Before cable television and way before the Internet, most network-affiliated television stations broadcast at Very High Frequency, shortened to VHF. Some local, independent stations, with local community programming, broadcast at Ultra High Frequency, or UHF.

As an Asian-American guy, I gotta be honest -- I have no idea if that "supplies" joke is actually meant to be an accent joke or literally just a "surprise" pun. The guy who plays Kuni was also in Sixteen Candles, and his material in that movie is so much worse than "supplies" even if is a mildly racist joke (if it is, it's the only one of those in the movie -- he's doing a cartoonish voice but not the bad "Asian caricature" voice or broken English that is the hallmark of so many other '80s comedies with Asian characters).

You definitely gotta listen to some of Weird Al's music. It's the same silly sense of humor. And that song in the middle of the movie with the Beverly Hillbillies was originally "Money for Nothing" by Dire Straits. I'm sure you've probably heard Weird Al somewhere along the way and didn't know it. He's got more stuff from the 80s and 90s than the 00s and 10s.

*Click* "Nope." *Click* "Nope." *Click* "Nope." Reveal!!! Best gag ever! I love this movie. Big Weird Al fan. My favorite thing about this movie is that I love when an antagonist realizes that they have lost and/or experiences some humiliation and this movie delivers multiple events.

References, because not everyone is a TV and movie-obsessed Gen-Xer like me:
Conan The Librarian was a riff on the Arnold Schwarzenegger movie Conan the Barbarian.
The big action sequence was a reference to "Rambo: First Blood Part 2," starring Sylvester Stallone. The first movie, "First Blood," is about a homeless Vietnam vet who runs afoul of dirty local cops. The second movie, which is the reference here, is the same character being sent back to Vietnam to win it this time. USA! USA! There are more movies in the series but the third one aged *really* badly.
"We don't need no stinking badgers!" is a reference to a line from the Humphrey Bogart movie "Treasure of the Sierra Madre." The movie is pretty much mostly known now for the line, "We don't need no stinking badges!"
And "Tomorrow is another day" is a reference to "Gone With The Wind."
