EARLY ACCESS: Snatch

Comments

Let me add to the crime/thriller list "I'll Sleep When I'm Dead" (2003). It stars Clive Owen (who could get it big-time) as a former gangster who suspects that his brother's death may not have been by suicide, as reported.

Elliot Nesterman

Lock stock and two smoking barrels is a good one as well by guy Ritchie I like snatch yea layer cake is pretty good also I like things to do in Denver when your dead

john shepherd

This probably won’t be seen, but Ashleigh. You need to watch Rango, great summer-time movie

Jeffrey Black

The lack of star rating stood out to me, and was part of my reason for thinking the response was lukewarm. I've been wrong on picks for her before and likely will be again, just picking up the vibe this whole genre isn't really her thing beyond the peak flicks. Cheers dude!

Kenton Kruger

@Kenton I love this movie also. The only reason I would have recommended other movies ahead of it is that at the time of its release I seemed to be alone in liking this movie. I sent many friends and coworkers to see this film and their response was all negative. They didn't get it and thought Pitt was awful in his role. I would have been afraid to recommend to Ashleigh fearing she would not have gotten what movie or Pitt's character were suppose to be. She impressed me because it seem to me in her review that she understood what the director and Pitt were trying to do. I think she like it better then she put across and I would like to know how many stars she would give the movie. I don't think she gave a star rating or I missed it.

Mark Sylvester

She should watch Layer Cake.... such a great movie.

Vega

She seemed entertained enough, but I stand by my wording of lukewarm. She certainly wasn't enthusiastic in her praise at the end. Maybe I'm biased since I love this movie and this would have been one of my top suggestions in this genre. Either way I think we're in agreement that it's not a genre she should get overwhelmed with and should be suggested sparingly at most.

Kenton Kruger

Lukewarm? I know she said she liked Pull Fiction better but she seemed pretty entertained by this one. There are movies of this type I would have recommended before this one but I would not want her to watch the whole list of movies of this type. I think she could take a long break from them for now.

Mark Sylvester

I feel like you should watch the the 2002 film Big Trouble if you really like Dennis Farina and his mustache. It is also a really well-written film.

Rebecca Anne

To be fair Pulp Fiction is one of the best ones, and given her lukewarm praise on this one, I think you'd be safe to keep 90% of that list.

Kenton Kruger

The fact Ash liked Pulp Fiction has unfortunately destroyed half my list for reactor-fan β€œNo, PLEASE do not send her these...” cult titles that Guy Ritchie hyper-crime action films would normally have been on. πŸ˜‘

Eric Janssen

Awesome reaction! I told you I never seen this, but it turns out I have seen a little bit of it on tv a couple months ago. It was pretty good, and you know how you’re a hoe for Sarah Paulson, well I’m a hoe for Brad Pitt. My mans could get it. πŸ™πŸΌπŸ˜‚πŸ‘πŸΌ

Gio Vidrio

Jason Statham though. MMM. He can get it many, many, many times

JSounds

Can’t wait to watch this when I get home from work!

James Rose

Dennis Farina could get it

Brett Delbridge

"Disco Biscuits" is a slang term for various party drugs. Originally used for Quaaludes, but now also used for MDMA/Ecstasy and things like that.

Andy H.

Great feature

ingibingi2000

Dennis Farina is an unexpected but welcome entry in the Could Get It Club.

Brian Harris

He IS the guy from The Walking Dead. His name is Lennie James. On TWD, he plays Morgan Jones.

Jill Peterson

To Wong Foo is not my cup of tea, but when it comes to the performances of the three leads, well my hat’s off to them. Incredible work.

Nick of Time

My favorite feature on the DVD of Snatch was the option to turn on subtitles for the Pikey parts

Andy H.

I watched along using the Amazon Prime Video 4K version and it synced perfectly with Ashleigh's comments. So whatever version Amazon streams is it.

Thomas Ivie

Oh, you'll definitely love "Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels".

Sinjoro Griego

I had never heard of this movie and enjoyed watching the reaction!

Lynnetta

The older guy who could "get it" is Dennis Farina. He's been in a ton of films, but is also known for his role as Senior Detective Joe Fontana on "Law & Order"

Sean Novack

Anybody know if this is American theatrical release or UK extended?

Thomas Yanez

I honestly like this a little bit better than "Pulp Fiction"... :)

Manuel Johnen

Many of the disc editions of Snatch have a jokey "Pikey subtitles" track that just translates Brad Pitt's dialogue.

Tyler Foster

Some connections: You're correct, Lennie James went on to appear on "The Walking Dead." Also, Brad Pitt has since been in two Quentin Tarantino movies himself, including (IMO) one of his two masterpieces, Inglourious Basterds (he also stars in QT's Once Upon a Time...in Hollywood, and is in True Romance, which QT wrote but didn't direct). The other QT masterpiece is Jackie Brown, a great Elmore Leonard adaptation. There were three very good to great Leonard adaptations in the '90s, and, bringing this comment full circle, the other two (Get Shorty and Out of Sight) both have Dennis Farina in them, the older guy you liked from this.

Tyler Foster

This is a good movie but i agree i like Pulp Fiction better.

Bleedingreen

I expect the issue is there are on average only 4 Fridays a month, so unless she starts doing more videos a week there's no way to have more than 4 people feeding her requests. Personally I think that tier should have something like a term-limit.

Amstrad

Could I get on this tier if I pay $200 a month? It's a shame you have only 4 spots but so many patrons who want to get on that tier.

Birdie Num Num

I saw this and Pulp Fiction several times, loved both of them. Glad you reacted to it! Can't wait until Ferris Bueller!

Michael Waldrep

D'ya Like Dags?

Amstrad

Lol it’s has nothing to do with this movie but it’s another Patrick Swayze movie I really really really want you to watch to Wong foo thanks for everything love Julie Newmar
