I hope I spelled that right "Poitier" anyway it's a wonderful old movie and I'm enjoying watching these other ones with all you guys

The movie I'm hoping for is "To Sir With Love" with Sidney Poitier

I'd love to see some coming of age tales like my girl or now and then. They really defined my childhood and I still love them so much as an adult

Hi Ashley, new patreon here. You're gonna love Police Acadamy. I have a few suggestions for ya. The (theatrical version) of Legend, with Tim Curry, Tom Cruise and Mia Sara. Its essentially a live action Disney princess movie. Also, this one you can ask your mom about.. The Man from Snowy River. My mom has always loved that move and it is definately a movie up your alley. Hope you enjoy!

Police Academy will be a fun reaction watch but I hope you get to react to Spies Like Us at some point. I think you'll enjoy it and I havent seen any reactions to it.

JayWantsACat

Any chance Weird Al Yankovic's UHF Makes it to poll? My birthday is the 15th I'd love to see it at least be tried on a poll

Mr Marvelous

She'll love Jones and Mahoney even more

Mr Marvelous

You ever find yourself short on gas money, let me know and I'll rent your tier slot for a month or two ;)

Kenton Kruger

Darn you people! I'm going to force her to watch spies like us some month!!! LOL 😂😂😂

1000thghost

Come on y’all best little whore house we all know how much she loves dolly

Dylan

Outsiders and Police Academy are great in their own ways and you should do them both I whatever order you prefer. This may sound crazy but I really think you should do PATTON from 1970 eventually some time down the road; it is almost 3 hours long including an intermission, but give it chance. I Since you liked Casablanca, you might like From Here to Eternity from 1953 as well; it's about 90 minutes.

Toby Lee Lauterbach

I was hoping for Dolly. It was a pretty awesome list to choose from…

Here and there on the Internet over the years, I've discussed what movie is "THE 80s Movie." Moving ahead a decade, Wild Things should be in any discussion of "THE 90s Movie."

Please add Sling Blade and Fargo to your lists.

Kevin Townsend

Wild Things!!!

Joshua Reichert

Of the four you chose, Police Academy gets my vote. I love Spies, but not the whole movie, LWH was a stage play adapted into a musical so it’s not my favorite, I would rather see Music Man or Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and Outsiders was a book I read before I saw the movie so it didn’t “do it” for me...

Ullatec

I don't know if this has been recommended, but My Cousin Vinny is hysterical!!

I know that Movies are the reason for the channel but I think that a few TV shows should get a reaction as well. One that I recommended was the Pilot Episode of Miami Vice because it's movie length and it was an innovator....plus the soundtrack from season 1 on through to season 5 is like a who's who of 80's MTV

Police Academy is too good not to give the vote to on this list.

"HoW dArE yOu Do StUfF tO pLeAsE tHe PeOpLe PaYiNg To EnJoY yOuR wOrK!"

Kenton Kruger

Try looking into non Hollywood films....unless of course you think it's the best way to keep your fans happy....in which case can't wait for the rest of the gawd awful fadah and the start of game of thrones 🙄

Danika Silva

Polic Academy is fun, but Outsiders is a real deep movie. I like both. I chose Outsiders. It was the very first book my little sister read before me (she even yelled at me when she caught me reading her copy, saying I always stole her books to read first). I guess back then I spoiled endings and such, lol. Now, not so much.

Oouga

All Good Movies its hard to chose

Snacky Munchies

I cannot wait for whenever your watch Best Little Whorehouse in Texas! What a fun little flick!

Snow Goon

1776 (the musical) or Mr. Smith Goes to Washington

Nicholas & Heather

You just can NOT be a Dolly fan and not watch Whorehouse. I've been watching that movie since it came out and can recite it pretty well lol Best nonreligious Christmas song ever goes to Hard Candy Christmas. Fight me.

Why?

(Shh...Just say it's good, and leave the details for later.)

Eric Janssen

If she does a reaction to Police Academy, I wanna see her reaction to Michael Winslow, the guy that does all of the sound effects.

Keith Boyd

Oohh all classics but Police Academy got my vote.

Melissa

Classics I think deserve consideration: Back to School Weird Science

Joseph Ricks

I like Spies Like Us a lot more fun Han anything in this list.

Robert Gruhn

She should watch "The Black Stallion", the movie that made that 6th grade class think Francis Coppola had directed it (when he hadn't), and wrote in asking him to do another reading-list book.

Eric Janssen

If you watch The Outsiders, make sure it’s The Complete Novel edition!!!

C. A.

I really think Spies Like Us needs to come off this list. Replace is with National Lampoon's Vacation, or The Great Outdoors.

Tim Gilbert

I know you mostly do 80's movies on Mondays, but you should watch the Lord of the Rings movies if you haven't already.

Richard Maurer

I'm kinda meh here.. .voted "Spies" and "Whorehouse" and I also just wanna do a shameless plug for the films I sent "The Taking of Pelham One Two Three"(1974), "Marathon Man"(1976), "Breakdown"(1997) and "Apocalypto"(2006)(also "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" '78 for Hallobeans)

Paul Johnson

The Outsiders is a serious bad Ass movie!!! A lot of big names. Ashleigh, looks like police Academy is going to win this poll.. it too is a cool franchise to see., but at some time in the future you're going to want to see the outsiders one day in the future!!!!

WEEZER MANN

Yeah, nobody likes II.

Eric Janssen

Yes but the other’s are SO 80’s

Brett Delbridge

"One of these things is not like the other..."

Eric Janssen

I am going to keep insisting that you review "Angels With Dirty Faces" a classic movie starring James Cagney, Humphrey Bogart, Pat O'Brien and featuring the Dead End Kids. I won't stop bringing it up until you review it. I also think you would LOVE Crocidile Dundee (I and II).

Tom Castro

Wayne's World!!

Moni Castaneda

A few movies I still think Ashley should watch are: Crocodile Dundee Jumpin Jack Flash The last Starfighter The Hangover

Brett Delbridge

“Where did you learn to speak English?” College....and the Police Academy movies!” That’s a line from which movie?

Brett Delbridge

Without a doubt, the movie still has its moments, but OMG, I can barely stand to watch Guttenberg's performance.

Thomas Yanez

And I would've voted for it for Dolly and Charles Durning alone, knowing Ash, but...she put the original Academy on the list too, and, well, there ya go. Maybe she should watch Tootsie first, and THEN learn to appreciate Charles Durning.

Eric Janssen

Forget what you ever thought about the sequels growing up in the late 80's (and lord, we hated them)--The ORIGINAL Police Academy is one of the funniest screwball Great Comedies of the Big 80's. It would be quotable legend by now if its successors hadn't stunk up its reputation.

Eric Janssen

Rewatched "Police Academy", when it was on TV a couple of weeks ago, it's still funny... :D

Manuel Johnen

YESS!! Great movie!

Angela Munoz

OMG The Outsiders. That really takes me back to junior high. No idea how it holds up. Willing to bet a lot of Police Academy doesn’t.

Kristen North

Actually ther are some really fantastic scenes in BLWT. Not only is there Dolly But the governor is almost worse the price of admission by himself

If you like Dan Aykroyd you’ll love Spies Like Us!

Madeline H

I really don't have strong feelings about this selection. If I had a 4 sided coin I would have flipped it to determine my vote.

Michael Buhl

For next 4th of July think about A Yankee Doodle Dandy with James Cagney.

Bill Bevins

Great choices but does anyone else here think Ashleigh is missing out on the great works of the award winning David Lynch? Maybe a "Blue Velvet"?

Plus she loves Burt now because of Smokey and the Bandit.

Tyler Foster

“O Brother Where art thou” needs to make a poll, George Clooney, John Goodman, hilarious movie set in the south, what’s not to like

I love these!

Jennifer M

I also rewatched Ever After yesterday and think she would love it. How do we get it on the list?

Jennifer M

I’m excited about League of their own. But was secretly hoping for Independence Day since it’s the 4th. 😆

Jennifer M

Voted for The Outsiders. Best movie of the bunch, even though they are all good.

Bill Bevins

Hoping “Beverly Hills Cop” or “Trading Places”makes the list soon!

melinda wilson

I think people in the comments section should refrain from telling Ashleigh that she won't like a particular movie. It might give her some negative preconceptions even before the movie is watched. OK to say you think she will like a particular movie but saying the opposite sets bad expectations. It's hard to predict what Ashleigh would like anyway.

Bill Bevins

The Outsiders is the only one on this list that isn’t horrible. It’s not great, but at least it isn’t one of the others.

Graham Martin

"Police Academy"... :D

Manuel Johnen

"The Outsiders" is an awesome movie. Orginally was a book written by a 16 year old high school girl. It was filmed in my hometown of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Lots of young actors who would become of big names. Also directed by Francis Ford Coppola who directed " The Godfather".

Billy Hogner

Police Academy is a good time! I saw the matinee (first show the day) of it the day it opened with my mom, who has now passed. It is a cherished memory of laughing with her through this movie.

Michael Waldrep

Out of those four movies, I have only seen Police Academy and Spies Like Us. I don't remember much about Spies Like Us, so I voted for Police Academy.

iamrman82

It absolutely has to be the whorehouse in Texas, the others are good...and after watching any of them it'll be like...yeah they were good in ya head.....but when you watch the whorehouse you will come away singing the tunes with a perma grin....Dolly is in it for jebus sake....and has the word whorehouse in the title, what more do you need?!

Is too much to my surprise Is my Millennial girlfriend hated My Cousin Vinny, didn't even make it half why before she turned it off. She loves most the movies I have introduced her to and would leave me in a second for Clint Eastwood, but a few she has surprised me on like Vinny.

Bill Staley

All Good choices. i voted for Best Little because I know you like Burt Reynolds.

Wesley Eskildsen

I'm good with anything but would love to see a reaction to 9 to 5! Dolly marathon!

Louise Brooks

I have, that and Porkys.

Bill Staley

The 80s classics which would be most interesting for a Millennial to react to would be either Porkys or Revenge of the Nerds. Neither of which could be made today and both have moments that haven't aged well, but imho still very funny movies. My way to young for me GF enjoyed both of them. Also, what's your knowledge on Westerns? The Clint Eastwood Spaghetti Westerns would be a good trilogy to react to. Also his Dirty Harry movies.

Bill Staley

Daniel Edward Aykroyd. Chevy Chase. 'Spies Like Us' There is no other option. 😬😬😬😬😬

Carl Sage

The Outsiders is a great movie. Almost any A-B list actor you can think of was cast for the movie and they managed to play the part, some more than others. Something tells me it won’t win against Police Academy, but I know it’ll be seen eventually.

Gio Vidrio

Please put "my cousin Vinnie"in a poll sometime! It would blow these 4 choices away

Mark Finley

I AM DYING 😂😂😂

Ashleigh Burton

it almost made this poll!

Ashleigh Burton

“Spies Like us” was funny, you should check it out!

Tara M. Wilcoxon

if it doesn't win I'll for sure keep it around!

Ashleigh Burton

The Outsiders and Spies Like Us are great movies too! LWH is an ok movie. Only reason I watched it because I was thinking Dolly was show her you know what but no. Not a great movie for her or Burt.

Streets of Fire for your next poll please. You'd love it!

RX2904

They made 7 movies in total and they improved as much as you might think after the first one. Did anyone suggest Revenge of the Nerds?

Jack Jones

ROBOCOP

Timothy Estrada

The Outsiders 100%. Loved the book. Movie is filled with familiar faces. If not this time soon please 🙏

Hmmmm can't wait to see if it pulls through then

Ashleigh Burton

why?

Ashleigh Burton

Please not Police Academy. PLEASE

Eric Frazee

The Outsiders. Only option on here I ever felt like watching more than once. Stay golden!

Nick of Time

Not much of a fan of Police Academy anymore. But it did spawn a franchise. So it gets my vote.
