I was a little kid when that movie came out, and whenever the commercial for it came on, I had to leave the room or hide behind the couch and cover my ears. I was not a fan of ventriloquist dummies (or mannequins).

Would love Ashleigh to discover the one and only Ann-Margret and have her join the pantheon of Great Redheads! Also I can remember the trailer for that movie popping up on late night TV and scaring the hell outta me when I was a kid...google it and you'll see it's really creepy

Ashleigh! I don’t know how I forgot to mention this. I’m currently watching the movie Magic 1978. It is directed by Richard Attenborough who plays John Hammond. It stars Anthony Hopkins. If you want to see something freaky... THIS IS IT.

I love how the closed caption when the raptors eat the cow is "Mooing in fear"

She said it near the beginning, but then she doubted herself. I can't blame her for that. She's so new to some of these actors that we've seen a thousand times. I mean I know she did pulp fiction, but yeah. I was proud of her for saying it pretty early on.

Sorry but the 2nd film is much better than any of the other sequels and much more true to the source material rather than movie monsters. Just me.

Ohhhh I was hoping you would have saved this for June 11 for the anniversary of the film but alas, can't be too picky. This was the very last film I was waiting for you to review (empire strikes back and raiders were the other two). It got me to become a patron. I'll have a much better comment on the youtube. lol -- Scott B

As a fan of the books before the movie, the reason why the second movie is so bad, is because they had to change so much of the plot of the second book. Since Hammond was an asshole in the first book and was killed by his own dinosaurs, the whole idea of the second book was them searching for the lost island which gave the second book it's plot and excitement. But in the second movie Hammond was still alive and he told them where the island was so they had to figure out so much more plot to even try to make it exciting. So they should never have tried to make the sequel off of the second book, which they tried and failed. I however liked the third one more because they used a lot of action sequences that they couldn't include in the first movie due to length and special effects limitations.
As you can tell, I was a bit obsessed with the JP books and movies as a teenager. I even started college as a biology major wanting to become a paleontologist because of my obsession with dinosaurs.

I think number three is worth watching, but number two is piss poor. And none of the recent ones did much for me either.

They filmed this movie in Hawaii and you can visit the areas around the state where they shot it. Such a beautiful location!

Fun and iconic movie. There are several sequels, some good, some bad. Number three you can skip, The others are still entertaining.

This is kinda becoming Star Wars-esque in how the movies are coming out. There’s the original trilogy (Jurassic Park 1-3) and there’s a second trilogy set about 20 years later Jurassic World of which parts 1&2 are out and the third part due next year (fingers crossed). So you have a bit of catching up to do. I was lucky enough to have seen the original in theaters when it first came out, I think I was 15 at the time, and while some of the effects now are kinda iffy, for 1993, they were absolutely mind blowing and between that and the score in theatre surround sound, it was one helluva experience!

Did you see the hand steadying the raptor's tail in the kitchen? It's something you can't unsee.
But such a great movie and even better book by Michael Crichton.

Not one I would have thought to pick, but have to say I'm kinda hyped for this one.
