EARLY ACCESS: Jurassic Park

Comments

Ashleigh, I love you. Your reviews are great!. I can think of a few movies to recommend, but not sure how far into the past you would like to travel.

Mom my took me to see this when it came out and I was about 8 years old. Twenty years later, we went together again to see the 3D re-release. Ah nostalgia. :)

Nick of Time

FYI: there WAS a 3d release of this in 2013.

Sorry I accidentally posted instead of making a line break. XD Anyway, this is my favorite movie (well tied for for favorite) so I am on pins and needles to see how you like it. lol

I am so sad that Jeff Goldblum didn't get a "he can get it" between Jurassic Park and Independence Day, 😍😍😍

Melissa

My friend: "What are you doing tonight?" Me:"Going to see Jurassic Park." My friend: "I never thought of you as someone who would see something like that." Me: "Why?" My friend: "All the nudity." Me: "Nudity? It's about his Dinosaurs!" My friend: "Wait what is the movie again?" Me: "Jurassic Park." My friend: "Oh! I thought you said you were going to see Your Ass In the Park!" Me: Dead. This was an actual conversation. LOL

historical 1rst of a film that successfully used CGI..... It used CGI mixed with Animatronics... Stan Winston did the robotic effects while Denise Murren's team at ILM did the CGI Fill Ins here and there..Stan Winston also was responsible for the robotic Mother Alien 6 years earlier in the movie ALIENS... Jurassic PART 2 SUCKS IN MY BOOK BUT PART 3 REALLY ROCKS AND IS A MUST SEE!!!!!!

WEEZER MANN

This movie remains my very favorite / most memorable theater watching experience. I was 15 when we saw it on opening weekend and the feeling in the theater was electric. I think I held my breath almost the entire time. It still holds up but seeing it back then with a live audience was really something special. None of the sequels are nearly as good, unfortunately.

Laura Neary Smith

Love the dinosaurs. The people? Not so much.

Richard Meyer

A shot in the dark on people supporting the pick, but for more Laura Dern I'd be interested in a reaction to her movie The Tale. I know it's not at all an old classic (it's only from 2018), but it's such a wonderfully done, underappreciated film, and something completely different than anything you've covered so far.

Kenton Kruger

He's not fallen! Only in the book...and then even Crichton changed his mind.

Tyler Foster

When I first saw the film, earlier on I'd been idly thinking "Can a dinosaur please eat these kids?" But when that shot happened I was never so glad for plexiglass

JHB

Me: "Wait, she doesn't recognize Jeff Goldblum?" Checks Goldblum's filmography, compares to Asheigh's list of videos... Me: "Holy crap! This is her first Jeff Goldblum movie!" Hold on to your butts, as Sam Jackson would say. You're certain to see him a lot more.

JHB

It's interesting you mentioned Indiana Jones considering Steven Spielberg directed both movies

Gabriel

Since you were in band you should check out American Pie sometime.

Jason Nunez

Super thrilled that you were able to enjoy and appreciate this gem! This movie has one of the best book to movie adaptations, but there is so much more depth in the book. Highly recommend it if you are a reader. If you like Sam Neil (Dr. Grant) you need to see The Hunt for Red October. 😊

Ashleigh, you’ve no idea how glad I am to have a friend finally watch Jurassic Park for the first time and in the same month of my birthday! I share a birthday with Jurassic Park, so this means a lot to me. Let’s also not forget, RIP to our fallen hero Jeff Goldblum who COULD NOT get it for Ashleigh (even with his open chest clip) 🤦🏽‍♂️🤣

Gio Vidrio

Richard Attenborough was Bartlett (Big X) in The Great Escape. He was the British officer who planned the escape. His brother, David Attenborough is the narrator for a lot of nature documentaries like Blue Planet, the Life Of Birds and many others.

They covered the dig when the CHOPPA! landed because they didn’t want any details in the bones sandblasted away. Also Ashleigh, the TV or whatever was playing in the background was quite audible on the recording, just fyi. Have a great weekend and vacay!

Bryan Foster

Great reaction... I can remember seeing this in the theater and being blown away by the FX...Dr. Hammond was played by Richard Attenborough a great British actor and director of epic films who starred in an obscure favorite film of mine "10 Rillington Place"(1971) where he played 1950's British serial killer John Christie, Dr. Grant was played by Sam Neill who first became famous as the adult Damien in "The Final Conflict"(1981) the 3rd film of the "Omen" trilogy, Dr. Malcolm was Jeff Goldblum who starred in "The Fly"(1986) which I hope will be seen here at some point...Nedry was played by Wayne Knight best known as Newman from "Seinfeld" and yeah Samuel L. Jackson can be hard to spot when he isn't shouting and dropping F bombs in every line of dialogue lol...have a blessed rest of Sunday Ashleigh!

Paul Johnson

The proper name for a person who digs up dinosaurs is a paleontologist

Dylan

Spielberg definitely knows how to make great movies that stand up over time. Glad you reacted to this one!

Michael Waldrep

The T-Rex going through the top of the car was the first time i ever yelled out loud in a theater. I was about 12, my poor little heart

Elisa H.

One of the rare early CGI movies that still holds up today

Bryan Foster

Ahhhh must watch now!!

Elisa H.

Love Ashleigh's face in the thumbnail. I think she got scared at some point.

Bill Bevins

This is such a great movie. Saw it when it first came out and was amazed at how real they made the dinosaurs look. This movie set the bar high for all CGI movies that followed. I have it on DVD so will watch it this evening.
