Comments

I forgot how fun this movie is! It makes me want to go watch In the Army Now with the Pauly Shore and Private Benjamin with Goldie Hawn (honestly I'll watch anything she's in <3)

Jennifer M

Totally Fastimes at Ridgemont High!!!!!!! Shit your pants funny!! Judge Rindhold is in this one...you know he was wearing the Death Before disco shirt in Stripes..

WEEZER MANN

Ashleigh now has to react to the Terminator so she knows who Linda Hamilton is!

Mark Sylvester

I think Ashleigh already has enough shit your pants stories.😜😜

Mark Sylvester

I'm so glad you watched this !

Jill Peterson

Can you plz do a reaction to Fast Times At Ridgemont High? Also be ready to shit your pants when you watch Jurassic Park, just a warning!!!

Keith Boyd

Nope, ending totally spoiled (and nobody ever remembers anything else from the movie)...Thanks loads, Bill. As to whether you should send Ashleigh your copy of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, I would check to see if she’s been sent three copies already, and then ONLY after she watches her Mary Poppins disk, for confirmation that Dick Van Dyke could totally get it.

Eric Janssen

It’s a Mortar not an RPG

Brett Delbridge

The bit with the paratroopers is dumb.

Brett Delbridge

Stillman (John Larroquette) has his aide as his shadow basically and he’s played by John Voldstad who also was one of the Daryls in the show Newhart. I’m sure you remember Larry & his 2 brothers both named Daryl y’all?? Well that Daryl married a girl who our family was very close to and we went to the wedding and there were a few celebrities there, but the one I was most excited about and got my picture made with was Linda Hamilton from the Terminator!! She was a bridesmaid and soooo nice!! The wedding took place in the town I was born in called Gadsden, Alabama in 1990. He and his wife divorced and I’m still friends with John & his son on Facebook.

1941 is a fun film

This and Ghostbusters are two of my all time favorite comedies. I never knew there was so many extra scenes. This was the first time I have ever seen any this version now I have to see this version. Great review as always thanks for letting me know there's a version I haven't seen.

Mike Johnson

Every time you watch an extended cut, you comment that stuff could've been cut out...... which it was.... in the theatrical cut. Still a super good movie!

sparkles

If you like this... you'll enjoy DOWN PERISCOPE

Nicholas & Heather

ooh ooh! andIn the Army Now, Biodome, and Son in Law

i NEED you to react to Major Payne, lol

So sorry you had to suffer in that super hot attic, we sure appreciate all you do to serve us up super fun reaction vids! I always sing along to songs in movies too, annoys the heck out of my family members but I can't help it!

Laura Neary Smith

The sergeant taking his hat off in the latrine confrontation is more of a symbolic movie trope than anything else. By taking off his hat, the sergeant indicated a willingness to step outside the chain of command and the code of US military justice and settle their dispute quickly and privately "like men". As you can see, a good slug to Bill's gut stopped the argument fairly quickly, giving him a chance to consider his actions and correct his thinking before the sergeant has to take more official action. Does this happen in real life? Probably but not as often as the movies want us to think.

T.J. Gengler

Okay, okay, okay... "Me after Taco Bell"? Really? I had to pause the damned reaction because I was laughing so hard!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Damn, I love your reactions!!!

Michael Sailor

Or Half Baked - my personal fave movie to enjoy along with some sublime ragtime. 🤘

Midge

HI random movie recommendation here. Gotta check out UP IN SMOKE 1978. the ultimate Devils Lettuce movie.

stephen phillips

Since Ashleigh asked, KP is "kitchen police" or "kitchen patrol" work under the kitchen staff.

Andy H.

Also, this is totally unrelated to Stripes, and I'm sure someone else has sent this to you by now, but it doesn't look like my fb message is going to go through, so I figure I'll post it here: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/hocus-pocus-sequel-2-disney-bette-midler-sarah-jessica-parker-kathy-najimy-1234956612/

Tyler Foster

I kinda liked this growing up. I saw it when I was around 15, so the gratious tittyscenes was a hit for me, lol

Daniel Örtoft

Bowfinger is definitely a great one.

Tyler Foster

do you think the women in the shower and just walking topless in the bar just have "pair of titties #4 in Stripes" on their resumes?

Elisa H.

Really great 80’s comedies I love: UP THE CREEK featuring Tim Matheson & Stephen Furst (together again from Animal House). JOCKS- a movie about college tennis players, and a direct result of Revenge of the Nerds popularity. It has Ogre in it! playing tennis... BACHELOR PARTY starring young fun-loving Tom Hanks (he was a completely different guy back then)

Fatty Boombatty

Yeah, I spent the first half of this waiting to see if she'd eventually recognize him from Ghostbusters.

Kenton Kruger

Also Sean Young straddling Harold Ramis in a marble bathtub 😬😬😬 never thought I’d see THAT!

Fatty Boombatty

That whole scene in the paratrooper plane and afterwards in the forest was all extended. I never saw that in like 30 years knowing this movie by heart.

Fatty Boombatty

I knew you’d love John Candy! Even though for the most part I consider Stripes “a guy’s movie” (notice it’s all MEN joining the army). Also, the muddy ass and tiddys. The women in there are pretty much “sex objects” only 😎 it’s an older outdated perspective. Imagine if they tried to do an all-female reboot of Stripes... first of all, we’ve gone too patriotic as a culture to show army recruits in such a silly bafoonish light. Not to mention perverted drug fiends as well. Next, try Bowfinger starring Steve Martin & Eddie Murphy.

Fatty Boombatty

"Those titties are just out!!" Yeah that's 80's movies for you. LOL

1000thghost

I never dropped acid while i was in the Army, how dare this movie misrepresent... it was mushrooms

Bleedingreen

That one time at band camp

Dylan

Great reaction...would have to say this is probably my favorite Murray comedy through the years...It came out when I was in 9th grade and I can remember kids in school endlessly quoting it and walking down the hallways singing "Doo-Wah-Diddy" lol...also Stella was played by PJ Soles who played Linda in "Halloween" and Louise was played by Sean Young who was in the following year's "Blade Runner" which has been requested a few times here

Paul Johnson

Nice to see you ending the month with some banger comedies, but I feel like it’s time for some classics that bring you joy, giggles, tears, and fear. Jurassic Park & Tremors are gonna be the highlight movies everyone wants to see you do, but as soon as you get to movies like Fried Green Tomatoes, The Man In The Moon, My Girl, & Mask... ALL ABOARD THE HOT MESS EXPRESS. 🎫 🎫🎫

Gio Vidrio

Warren Oates is one of my favorites as well...have you seen him in the 1966 cult Western "The Shooting"(also starring Jack Nicholson and Millie Perkins)? It's definitely worth a look for Oates fans

Paul Johnson

I have an unopened DVD of Old Yeller. When Tower Records in my town was closing, they were unloading movies at a very low price. I picked up some classics like Old Yeller, Toby Tyler, and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang with the intention of showing them to my daughter. Well she never had any interest in watching them. Should I send Ashleigh Old Yeller? Think she can handle it even though it made Bill Murray and John Candy cry?

Bill Bevins

Now, I hope you get my comment on Steel Magnolia when I said that Old Yeller was the only movie I admit crying to. This movie is one of the funniest Bill Murray movies. Warren Oates (Sgt. Hulka) was one of my favorite character actors. Other good movies he was in include Dillinger, The Wild Bunch, There Was a Crooked Man, and Bring Me The Head of Alfredo Garcia.

Bill Bevins

Russell Ziskey is played by Harold Ramis, who also starred with Bill in Ghostbusters as Egon, and co-wrote, directed, and had a small cameo in Groundhog Day. He also directed Caddyshack and the original National Lampoon's Vacation.

Tyler Foster

Yes. This. All of the this.

Carl Sage

Ashleigh says she can't imagine Bill Murray in a serious war movie. Let me introduce you to Monuments Men.
