What's Next!

Hiii!! Again - sorry for all the upload issues on today's upload.  Youtube has been a DICK the past few days and I AM OVER IT.

Anyways!  If you haven't watched "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" review - then I'll let you know that Robinhood Men In Tights is Monday! I got tired of waiting for it to win the polls so 😂

What's next?

Comments

I cannot wait for you to see this movie! It is truly amazing

AmyGENX

Gotta do tge Du d e

Ravi Phillips

Can’t believe you have t seen this! Get ready

melissa goff

If you wanna see more of the Gene Wilder/Richard Pryor duo then definitely check out Silver Streak. I like it a little better than Stir Crazy personally. Then See no Evil, Hear no evil. That was the last one they did together.

Matt Dellarosa

I just realized no one has suggested Haunted Honeymoon. It's a good one to add to the Gene Wilder List. And Gilda Radner is in it too who was his wife in real life. Also Dom Deloise who played the godfather character in Robin Hood Men in tights.

Matt Dellarosa

Well, I would like to see you react to more tear jerkers...with a glass of 🍷 Like The Color purple by Steven Spielberg Empire of the sun also by Steven Spielberg Sense and sensibility by Ang Lee Places in the heart with Sally Field What dreams may come with Robin Williams Terms of Endearment with the actress that played Weezer in steel magnolias. I’m not sure who directed the last 3, but they are my favorite weepy movies. I gotta have more of your beautiful ugly cry face! 😂

Sassy monster

I agree. It's one if those movies like the godfather that I can watch over and over again. It never gets old.

Matt Dellarosa

Shawshank is one of my favorite movies of life. Whenever its on TV, friends are watching it, or I have a hankering to watch it, I will. Everyone Ive been with in the room goes silent because its so engaging. Would love to see you react to it.

Patches

Oh no, I'm sorry to hear that YouTube is being such a dick. They've gone so overboard in lording over so many channels lately that some serious regulations would appear to be in order. You're doing a great job and we love you!

Shreakin Warrior

It is the film from which we get the term "gaslighting."

Elliot Nesterman

I know you haven't watch that many old, black and white movies, but I know you will enjoy Gaslight (1944) with Ingrid Bergman, Charles Boyer, Joseph Cotten, and 18-year-old Angela Lansbury. It is a classic psychological thriller film.

Roger Dearnaley

Fantastic idea! I think she would love a League of Their Own.

Gryff

An April theme? Since she's already doing "I'm going to watch Men in Tights because I haven't watched my copy yet!", how about Spring Cleaning as a theme--Where Ash watches that backlog pile of disks fans sent her in the Unboxings? A League of Their Own and Noises Off would fit very nicely in April, along with culling the herd of a, er, LONG LIST of other poll choices…

Eric Janssen

Kingpin!

What about Tommy Boy?

I want a reactor somewhere to do 1985's fantasy film Legend featuring Tim Curry as the devil! And Willow would also be amazing.

Stephanie Chapman

I can do without Ferris Beuler's Day Off personally. But I would love to see a reaction to project x with Matthew Broderick.

Matt Dellarosa

How about Mazes & Monsters? The anti-D&D movie during the 80s satanic panic...

Fatty Boombatty

"The Bone Collector" is such a piece of shit... :D

Manuel Johnen

And one that is a classic that's constantly referred to, so a good one to experience, so you get what people are talking about.

Robert Reichle

I dont know if Ferris Buellers Day Off has been suggested yet or not...but its a good movie

Aaron Collett

And Tom Hanks... Forest Gump Cast Away Saving Private Ryan The Green Mile Big The Money Pit The Burbs Captain Phillips The Terminal Apollo 13 Philadelphia Catch me if you can Sleepless un Seattle The road to perdition Turner and hooch A league of their own Bachelor party Joe versus the volcano Nothing in Common The bonfire of the vanities The man with one red shoe So basically just about everything starring tom hanks.

Matt Dellarosa

Here's a Denzel Washington movie list for you: The Book of Eli Deja Vu Glory The Bone Collector Philadelphia The Hurricane The Manchurian Canddate Others can add to this list. I just listed my favorites.

Matt Dellarosa

When I joined the navy, there was a guy in a bunk bed near me who played Shawshank Redemption every night on his laptop (to fall asleep to it). I guess it had to do with Morgan Freeman’s soothing narrator voice. I always woke up at the same part in the movie... I’m not saying what part that is, until you watch it!

Fatty Boombatty

You wont be disappointed with Shawshank, Hope you can watch the Stepford wives from 1975 with Katherine Ross and Paula Prentiss, very good suspenseful movie.

He is a good and faithful friend, the voice of reason. And he somehow hooks up with Sean Young! Whom I like better than Bill Murray’s girl.

Fatty Boombatty

I suggested MUSICAL MAY. Wonka falls under that category.

Fatty Boombatty

I sent a movie in PO Box, if anyone wants to suggest Sidekicks (w/ Chuck Norris)

Nicholas & Heather

if you like Ladyhawke, WarGames would also be pretty good

Nicholas & Heather

My Ashleigh wishlist: Working Girl Ladyhawke Dirty Dancing Pump Up the Volume

Red Dwarf

Hey. I like how you said True Lies is a JLC movie! 🤣 she’s great in it, yes— but you know who had way more screen time? Arnold Schwarzenegger! Since he is kind of the star of it. You know who else is good? Check out True Lies for Bill Paxton! 😁

Fatty Boombatty

Dumb and dumber should definitely be reacted to at some point.

Matt Dellarosa

How Shawshank hasn’t been reviewed by now is amazing.

you are totally allowed to choose a movie for yourself!

Derri .

You love Bill Murray and John candy. Both are in Stripes.

Scott Macalino

Steve Martin doesn't appear in "Innerspace"...? :/

Manuel Johnen

I would like to add a couple titles for the upcoming polls...... The Rock with Sean Connery, Face Off with John Travolta, True Lies with Jamie Lee Curtis, and of course the Matrix trilogy.

Brandy Scott

Three Amigos

Also, speaking of Steve Martin...you really should check out Innerspace with Martin Short. (He and Steve Martin were on Saturday Night Live together, sctv also if I remember correctly) That's really the best of his movies in my opinion. He had a couple others worth watching but from a comedic standpoint Inmerspace is him at his best.

Matt Dellarosa

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned this yet but since you enjoyed Airplane you would probably like The Naked Gun trilogy. It's the same brand of slapstick humor and it stars Leslie Nielson who played the doctor in Airplane.

Matt Dellarosa

Shawshank is an amazing movie.

Patrick Maloney

I was really torn between Stripes and Shawshank. Shawshank has been done a lot on YouTube (for good reason - it’s amazing). Stripes is hilarious though and I haven’t seen anyone react to it yet. So Stripes!

Nessa Arandur

Instead of variety, go with movies that are similar near each other?\

Robert Reichle

We're trying, but public awareness for the last truly funny Steve Martin AND Eddie Murphy movie of the 20th cty. still needs to be increased, to get the voting up...Keep it together. (And yes, the title and utterly complete lack of any plot-based marketing when the movie came out didn't help it.)

Eric Janssen

Shawshank top five all time for me. I'm in agreement with others, Green Mile a great watch and would be good soon after. A very similar style and feel.

Brent Fugett

You need to see Bowfinger! Don’t let the name throw you off. I haven’t really seen any reaction videos for it 🤔🤔🤔 it’s a movie made for movielovers

Fatty Boombatty

I'm rather disappointed that you're going for Men in Tights instead of The Producers. I can only hope you're saving it for when you feel you need a Gene Wilder fix. BTW, you'll notice that for one of the songs Brooks reused the melody from "Jews in Space."

Elliot Nesterman

Jerk and Stripes are good/ok. Lebowski is overrated imo. Shawshank however, is exceptional. The Green Mile should seen soon afterwards.

PieHard13

I choose Stripes. Already seen multiple reaction videos for the others (although they are great movies too).

Fatty Boombatty

Shawshank. Not funny but the better movie.

Tyrone Tyrone

Any of these will be great. I can't wait to see you react to Bill Murray in STRIPES.

Jill Peterson

Shawshank For the win!

Petrosakaghettogypsy

These are all great - 3 are comedies but one is heavy, so consider your mood before watching Shawshank, even if it is the one winning the poll.

Dan Helphrey

You will enjoy all of these, I'm sure, but I think you should do Shawshank next.

Karen S

I've wondered why the trilogy of Forrest Gump, Shawshank, and Green Mile (Green Mile??) are being "You've GOT to watch this!!" forced on reactors, and it could be that these are the only dramas most of the YouTube audiences have literally SEEN. At that Certain Age, you don't want to watch boring old drama, you want the adrenaline of horror, comedy or action, and when someone slips you a Saving Private Ryan or Schindler's List, and you find yourself melting into an ugly-crying mess, it's like...magic! Those two are recent, though, Forrest and Shawshank are from the first attempts for Millennial-Z to say “Look, I’m watching OSCAR-NOMINATED movies, okay?” by picking "old" movies from the 90's, and then watching Green Mile for the same reason we saw it in theaters: Because it had a prison drama and we thought it was Shawshank.

Eric Janssen

I haven't seen Big Lebowski, because I'm not a stoner (and therefore don't think "Jeff Bridges, one of us, dood!"), have seen other Coen films in my life (including O, Brother and Raising Arizona), and actually manage to be AWARE of when the Coens are making nasty Simpsons-esque fun of stoners, bowlers, Latinos, people with funny Minnesota accents, or anyone else they think is Amusing Americana.

Eric Janssen

Yeah, the "wild and crazy" is what made him famous in the first place. And "The Jerk" epitomizes his early stand-up in movie form. That doesn't mean it is his best work (it definitely is not) but it is still has its merits.

Thomas Yanez

So far, you’ve watched some of the “normal” Steve Martin comedies, like Planes, Trains & Automobiles...Now get a taste of his OWN humor in The Jerk. We’ll see where the “Oh, STOP” counter will go this time.

Eric Janssen

Shawshank is a must so I voted for it. However I think I would be more excited if you watched The Jerk. Stripes is good but I really didn't care for The Big Labowski. There are much better Coen Brothers films then this one. I would have suggested Fargo or O Brother, Where Art Thou?

Kristopher McCoy

Yeah. I haven't seen it in probably thirty years and I wasn't old enough to watch it when I did. Anyway, my memory of it is really fuzzy. I'm sure it's fine if you know what you're getting into and aren't expecting something different, but. Yeah.

Arki Kali

Ashleigh I've seen a couple of movie recommendations lately for Porky's. About that... I feel a moral obligation to let you know that there is alot of nudity in Porky's...a whole lot. I would advise against including it in a poll. Even if it wins you would have to edit the entire movie to have it on YouTube. I know you have broad horizons when it comes to movies but Porky's is basically a glorified porno with some raunchy, perverted humor mixed in it. I just thought I would warn you.

Matt Dellarosa

I do wonder if the mockumentary-style might be too dry, but I'm definitely game to see how she reacts. If "This is Spinal Tap" does well, you have the whole Christopher Guest series to work with.

Thomas Yanez

Strangest poll ever. Three great comedies or... The Shawshank Redemption? What's it doing on a poll with The Jerk? This poll is hilarious in itself. So weird. All four movies deserve to be seen asap though.

Robert Reichle

When is Spinal Tap going to be in one of these polls? You need to see it!

Michael Buhl

I went for Stripes, cause it has your husbando in it. That, and I always thought The Big Lebowski was kind of overrated.

iamrman82

Bonnie & Clyde1967 with Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty plus a couple of cameos you will recognize..

Celeste Collins

No bad choices here, though my favorite of these is probably Shawshank. I'm still waiting for Stand By Me (which also happens to be based on a Stephen King short story but that's not why I want it).

Keri Parmeter

All 4 are great movies this time.... i say do them all!

ROG

Have not watched Shawshank in forever. Looks like I gotta find it this weekend before the reveal. Although, these watching cliché "you gotta watch it" movies are, well, cliché. HA!

William Wall

Absolutely "Shawshank" should be the first to be seen. However, I think there are pretty good arguments for either "Stripes" or "Big Lebowski" being second. These are all good movies.

Michael 'Shine on You crazy Diamonds!' Hudson

I voted for the Jerk, but Shawshank is a must see for everyone. Such a great movie!

Michael Waldrep

Oh if she's gonna do shawshank she should def do green mile!

Brandy Scott

Voted for stripes

Tim Phistry

Just in case you didn’t know... Shawshank is based on a Stephen King novel. Most of his books tie into one another in some way but that’s another rabbit hole. Just imagine Bill Skarsgard in the cage in the sub basement of the prison all that time 😮

Funniest movie I ever saw Steve Martin in is All Of Me with Lily Tomlin. The physical comedy in that movie was hilarious, especially the bathroom scene.

Bill Bevins

Though Animal House and Porky's may not be PC by today's standards, they are both very funny movies. I think Ashleigh can handle them with no problem.

Bill Bevins

One of those movies is not like the others and it’s winning.

Jason Nunez

As far as Steve Martin movies go, I don't know that The Jerk is the movie for Ashleigh, especially seeing so few of his films. Something a little tamer like Parenthood, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, or Bowfinger might be more to her liking. Ease her into the more 'wild and crazy guy' stuff :)

Kenton Kruger

I hope you do all these movies at some point. The polls are fine, Ashleigh, but don't rely totally on them. Sometimes just do a movie that you want to do, like you're doing with Robin Hood.

Bill Bevins

Gonna keep pressing the Stripes button until it finally gets played, but The Shawshank Redemption (short story written by Mr. Misery himself, Stephen King) is well worth the watch and in a completely different category as evident from all the previous comments. Peace.

Tony Williams

Are you talking to me...?

Manuel Johnen

Even if it's not your thing, I have a hard time accepting the word "average" attached to this film ;)

Kenton Kruger

I still vote for Stripes, mostly because it's one of the few movies Harold Ramis actually starred in. I enjoy him more in this movie than Bill Murray.

Kenton Kruger

Shawshank is one of the best films ever made. Please watch it at some point even if it doesn't win

Michael Johnson

"Shawshank Redemption" is average feel good Hollywood crap, but people love it, so whatever... :P

Manuel Johnen

Well you got a drama in the mix with 3 comedies on a poll, and so far everyone agrees to cry but not from laughter. Shawshank it is.

Gio Vidrio

M*A*S*H is a movie about war. Stripes is a movie about Bill Murray. :-)

Wally Hartshorn

Shawshank is truly one of the greatest films of all time. I can’t recommend it enough.

Andre

Stripes! And for future videos, let me add "My Cousin Vinny" and "Ferris Bueller's Day Off". If you can handle them, "Animal House" and "Porky's". All classics, very funny.

Mark Lee

Shawshank is by far on more top 10 lists than any other movie.

Matt Gwinn

I LOVE all four of these! But I think first priority is Shawshank. We all do really enjoy Ashleigh’s laughter and joy, like with Airplane, but she will have all the feels with Shawshank. And I know she will appreciate the beauty in it.

Shawshank is in my top 5 films of time. Full stop. When you’re done you know you seen some thing amazing. But that doesn’t mean it’s the easiest film to watch

OOPIES

Ashleigh Burton

M*A*S*H is better than Stripes as far as military comedy goes

eric brown

Shawshank = Amazing film. One of the best ever made.

Graham Martin

Shawshank Redemption is the best movie on this poll. I do think you'll like the Jerk though, the comedy is so random. Possibly one of Steve Martin's best performances. I didn't care for stripes. Some funny parts but the movie had no point.

Matt Dellarosa

They are all good movies, but I'm sure The Jerk has a lot of pop culture references that might surprise you. LOL Shawshank is amazing though. :-)

Louise Brooks

Lol this poll. Comedy, comedy, comedy and then shawshank.

Elisa H.

TRUE

Ashleigh Burton

I'll be interested to see how it goes then!

Ashleigh Burton

I can't wait to find out.

Ashleigh Burton

Like, great movies but... there’s only one movie winning this poll. We can take IMDB ratings with a pinch of salt but the numbers for this one don’t lie!

Ali D

shawshank is good but long and depressing

Vicky phillips

Still wanting dream team

Vicky phillips

Shawshank and Stripes are both great. I think you can't go wrong either way. I bet we hear "Tim Robbins could get it..." LOL!

MrBamaRed

😍😍😍

Ashleigh Burton

Shawshank! Shawshaaaaaaaaank!

Luis Torrefranca

Well - I still loved it and I think you'll love the review.

Ashleigh Burton

tough choice??

Ashleigh Burton

Maybe the one with the second highest votes will be the next Mondays???

Ashleigh Burton

Shawshank Redemption is an amazing movie. Definitely a must-see. Stripes is just plain insane. We know how you feel about Bill Murray.

Jon Krantz

We’ve had a lot of Bill Murray lately. I think you’d enjoy Shawshank Redemption.

Robin Hood men in tights is basically a spoof of Robin Hood Prince of thieves so you probably won’t get some of the references

Brett Delbridge

Agree!

Mark Finley

I LOVE Big Lebowski, but Shawshank Redemption is an absolute must.

Andy H.

Aww, come on more love for The Jerk!

Joseph Ricks

That’s a tough poll!
