What's Next?!

With NOOOO themes for the foreseeable future - I am watching the YouTube comments, Instagram, Facebook, and here of course - for classic movies I need to watch ASAP!

I've been teasing these for a while so LET'S START VOTING!

I'll have some surprises pop up on polls soon for movies that haven't been suggested but are definitely classics that I'm sure you think I've seen by now! 😎

Comments

The only reason to watch Howard the Duck is to laugh at how unintentionally funny and absurd it is. It's a colossally bad film and is in the hall of fame of movie flops. But technically it is the first Marvel movie ever made so Ashleigh would have to watch it eventually if she wants to see all the Marvel movies. Everyone should have to watch it at least once.

Matt Dellarosa

When I was in college *cough - 20 years ago - cough* my friends and I thought it would be fun to watch Howard the Duck since we all had such fond memories of watching it when we were kids. We were so disappointed. That movie did not hold up. We watched the first 20 min or so and then skipped to the end to watch the rock concert. I haven't had the stomach to try and watch it since then. I can't imagine how Ashleigh would react to it. I think it would get a lot of WTFs.

Lynnetta

I actually think monkey shines would be right up Ashleighs alley. It's definitely a suspenseful thriller.

Matt Dellarosa

Lynette, I loved Project X. It does have some sad parts but overall the movie is good.

Matt Dellarosa

I haven't seen Prince of Thieves (not a big Costner fan) and I love Men in Tights. I don't think you have to have seen Prince of Thieves first to enjoy it. It wasn't until I saw lots of people here making the comment about watching Prince of Thieves that I even knew that Men in Tights was poking fun at that movie specifically. I always thought it was making fun of all Robin Hood movies.

Lynnetta

George Romero's "Monkey Shines" which featured Jason Beghe of "Chicago PD" apparently before he started gargling with razor blades :)

Paul Johnson

I love The Monkees :)

Lynnetta

I was just thinking of that movie not too long ago. I can't remember why it popped into my mind. Ashleigh would hate it. It's far too sad and treats those poor animals terribly.

Lynnetta

Or monkey shines. Which would bring Ashleigh from loving monkeys to being terrified of them.

Matt Dellarosa

Or the tv show the monkeys!!!

Dawn

I predict Monty Python reaction

Adolfo Acosta

Following the monkey theme we could go with Any which way but loose. Dunston checks in? On second thought maybe skip that one. It was a dud. Howard the duck? Still in the animal kingdom...sort of.

Matt Dellarosa

Which, reminds me...project x (1987 Matthew Broderick). Ashleigh would like that one. It has monkeys in it.

Matt Dellarosa

War games?

Matt Dellarosa

Yall too stressed. This movies, not war.

Matt Dellarosa

She likes bowling.

Mark Sylvester

She's gonna hate Big Lebowski, the comedy is too weird.

Adolfo Acosta

I wasn't talking about the movie Thomas Ivie!😂

Mark Sylvester

@TYJ - She was asking for suggestions from online "friends", in the way you'd get a friend to watch your favorite movie if they'd never heard of it. But--to call out names--Todd Bradford's self-indulgent (I'm not going to use the A-word) mile-long bursts of, um...ENTHUSIASTIC attention (and then characteristic "Nobody likes me!" gloom after we complained) was purely self-gratifying and abused that privilege. We're not programming the Late-Nite Movie for Ash to host, we're conducting a friendly give-and-take about cool stuff we know and that she hasn't found out yet, since she's supporting herself with a site about finding it out. It's just that the arguments over being able to know the difference between the two have gotten a little heated.

Eric Janssen

Overboard? The original or the 2018 remake? Please don't say the remake! 🙏

Thomas Ivie

I'm going with yes...it does have to be enjoyable for her. Because it's her channel. It's kind of a ridiculous question.

Matt Dellarosa

Ok not trying to start something here but I didn't get soliciting suggestions from that sentence. Ashleigh said she was watching the 4 different comment sections for movie ideas. I didn't take it as her asking for more from us. I think some people are going overboard with this.

Mark Sylvester

"I started a joke which started the whole thread buzzing..." :)

Paul Johnson

Dolores Claiborne.

Mo Vetta

Also, again... does it HAVE to be enjoyable for her?

Manuel Johnen

Seems like a strange angle to take in a thread where Ashleigh's very first sentence is soliciting suggestions for movies, but OK.

Thomas Yanez

To be fair, the first review I watched and the one that hooked me in was watching her say "WTF?" to Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

Kenton Kruger

If you are going to throw "Best in Show" out there, then you should just slip in the whole Christopher Guest "mockumentary" list, starting with "This is Spinal Tap".

Thomas Yanez

Oo, "M*A*S*H". Haven't thought about that in a long time.

Thomas Yanez

It is her enjoyment of the absurd Brooks movies that gives me hope that she'll be just as happy with "Airplane!"

Thomas Yanez

The genre perfected (and later dismantled) by Zucker/Zucker/Abrahams CAN be an acquired taste. I'm hopeful that the absurdist nature will hook in our Ashleigh, though.

Thomas Yanez

"The World According to Garp"

Thomas Yanez

*sigh* 263 comments... have I mentioned that I freaking HATE Patreon's forum interface. It is so f'n tedious when a thread gets meaty, especially with no indication of what's new since you were last reading the thread.

Thomas Yanez

I have to agree. "It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World" caused her to doubt us... I think "Eraserhead" would make her angry at us. :) If I was to recommend watching it, I'd say to do it with Hubben for real-time support/discussion and then, only if she REALLY, REALLY wanted to, let us see the reaction.

Thomas Yanez

This thread is proof that people will literally argue over anything. I will say though that I think these movies suggestions need to be appropriate for the channel. Eraserhead and Elephant Man are good movies but I don't think Ashleigh would enjoy watching them. Particularly with David Lynch...it may be entertaining for others to see the WTF did I just watch? reaction but I don't think it would be enjoyable for her. Just my opinion. Ashleigh, since you like thrillers and highlighted Misery as one of your favorite movies so far I would suggest Cape Fear and Silence of the Lambs. You could also go down the stephen King rabbit hole, there are plenty to choose from.

Matt Dellarosa

12 Beans of Christmas!! That is so cute!

Angela Munoz

Yes, Eraserhead is a bad choice. That's worse than mad mad world.

Matt Dellarosa

I love David Lynch and Eraserhead. but don't think this would be her cup of tea. LMAO!!!!!!!! I love this movie but it's not for everyone. It would be crazy if she did watch it but don't think I'd want to put Ashley through this movie. LMAO!!!!!!!

stephen phillips

Best Richard Dreyfuss movie IMO is “Mr. Holland’s Opus”. Hits all my the emotion buttons every single time.

Nick of Time

I vote for Irma la Douce, or if we want to somewhat cheat then you could include Clerks.

Kenton Kruger

What’s the next black and white movie your thinking about watching

Dylan

Kung Fu Hustle is coming in April Thanks to one of the top Tier friends!

Ashleigh Burton

THAT THE SUPPORT I NEED! 😂

Ashleigh Burton

Personally, Ashleigh can react to a documentary on paint drying and I would be there for the watch-a-long. 🍿🙂🥤

Or Marvel May, John Candy June, Just July(whatever), Anything August, Sequel September, 2nd annual HallowBeans, Nautical November (movies at sea), 12 Beans of Christmas.

Jacob Robinson

May's theme= "My" May (movies witth ''my' in the title): My Blue Heaven(Steve Martin), My Cousin Vinny, My Man Godfrey, etc.

Jacob Robinson

Dumb and Dumber.

Matt Dellarosa

I mean there IS *kinda a theme: April Comedy. A great comedy is also Kung Fu Hustle.

Nicholas & Heather

Yes! I agree with few films to make polite suggestions for, but if it’s lists on lists of films you’re just a troll and an attention seeker, and as for the Ebert & Roeper show I have constantly in these comment sections it’s gotta get straightened out. Ashleigh is aware and informed and will be doing something about it. Much love! ✌🏼

Gio Vidrio

As I have said before I just can't see how someone can take someone else not liking a movie personally...I was part of the amen corner for MMW and rather than feeling angry or hurt from Ashleigh's reaction I kinda felt guilty and selfish for not realizing how dated the film was and how grating the characters could be if it was your 1st exposure to the actors playing them...again sincere apologies! However there are a few films that I really love that I will continue to make polite requests for and hope Ashleigh might take a look at and if not it's all good I watch ALL the reactions even the ones for films I don't like...and IMHO that is the mark of a truly gifted reactor!

Paul Johnson

For the most part, the full length reactions are not all that important to me. The YouTube edited reactions are usually quite sufficient. I get the feeling that AIRPLANE! is going to be an exception to this. The pace of jokes, sight gags, non-sequiturs and just plain "what-the HELL" moments allow for nothing less.

T.J. Gengler

One thing I think it's safe to say is that it doesn't matter how many or how few other YouTube reactors have already watched a movie. I'm sure many of Ashleigh's patrons only watch her videos, not to mention, the point of the reactions is that she gets to see all kinds of great movies, not some sort of dynamic based on what other YouTubers are doing.

Tyler Foster

I’m a good friend of Ashleigh’s , and I’m here to speak out on the patrons listing an outrageous amount of movies that she may or may not even get to watch. I understand your excitement and enthusiasm for the growth of her channel, but please understand she’s a human being and not a robot who will literally listen to every movie you bestow upon her at your every whim. Best recommendation I’d give is to send a list to her PO Box (she opened it up for a reason), she will read your letter and list during or after the live unboxings. All love here, but let’s be more rational about this. Also, she addressed patrons bullying other patrons all because they disagree on movies they’ve seen or that she’s seen or have yet to see. Let’s not go down that path. This is Patreon not Reddit or YouTube. This is supposed to be a safe haven. Granted these reactions will become youtube videos. Let’s show a little more respect for the woman who’s putting out the content and getting better and better with each new reaction/commentary.

Gio Vidrio

I would love to see her to react to The Great Escape, The Dirty Dozen and The Guns of Navarone, the three best WW2 movies ever made, IMO.

Bill Bevins

Same.

Kenton Kruger

I mentioned above that a war film for Memorial Day might be a good way to go. There are hundreds of excellent war movies, but since Memorial Day (originally called Decoration Day) was founded in 1868 to honor those who fought in the Civil War I suggest the 1989 classic, historical war drama "Glory."

Elliot Nesterman

Ya know that shot where Ashleigh stops and stairs at The screen whenever something outrageous happens during a comedy. I just can’t wait to see those looks during some scenes from Airplane!

Is anyone else in this Discord that was apparently set up? Someone told me it was public but I cannot find it, and they did not respond to my comment with an invite link.

Tyler Foster

I'm a little skeptical about how much she'd enjoy the first one. The other two seem more likely.

Tyler Foster

If you liked Steel Magnolias: Terms of Endearment, Places in the Heart Dolly movies: 9 to 5, Best Little Whorehouse in Texas Bill Murray Movies: Stripes, Tootsie Richard Dreyfuss Movies: American Graffiti, The Goodbye Girl, Down and Out in Beverly Hills, Stand By Me Harrison Ford Movies: American Graffiti, Witness, the Frisco Kid Westerns: True Grit (2010 version), Silverado, Stagecoach (1939 version)

Neil Brass

Finally, some love for OSCAR. I consider it to be an unforgivably overlooked film with a brilliant cast. It's well worth a reaction.

T.J. Gengler

WarGames The Abyss Premonition Little Shop of Horrors (Maybe for Hallow-Beans) Ferris Bueller's Day Off Beverly Hills Cop I and II Bicentennial Man Can't Buy Me Love Cast Away Catch Me If You Can The Client Contact The Core Face Off A Few Good Men Final Desitination (Hallow-Beans?) Todd Bradford

Airplane got my vote but it's close between it and Stripes. Both are classics. I like The Big Lebowski but it is an odd brand of humor and I'm not sure that Ashleigh would like it as well. Robinhood Men in Tights is a distant 4th on that list to me. I don't really care for it and as others have noted if you haven't seen Robinhood Prince of Thieves prior to watching it then you might not get a lot of the gags.

Todd Bradford

Evil Dead series! 1, 2, and Army of Darkness! These are creepy, scary, funny, ridiculous movies that you would probably enjoy.

The fact that The Big Lebowski is doing so poorly here, is a travesty!

Brandon Royce

She was also great in Peter Bogdanovich's "Paper Moon" from 1973...

Paul Johnson

Rather than watch stumblebum Leslie Nielsen trip over things, some might move from Airplane to other Zucker movie parodies, starting with the one in Kentucky Fried Movie. (Mostly raunchy SNL-era sketches, but one Airplane-style movie parody which those who haven't seen it and can't quote it will just have to rent to find out...) :)

Eric Janssen

A few YouTube references of Airport 1975--namely https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SMTClennEGw --would help boost one classic gag that only 70's disaster-movie fans got in 1980. (Aww.) :)

Eric Janssen

I voted for The Big Lebowski but you’d like Stripes as well. Airplane is good but I don’t know how well it ages. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Autumn Bough

The thing about Smokey & The Bandit is she hates car chases as comedy. That's already been an issue in more than one film.

Kristen North

Airplane is a good choice because it is still constantly referenced. Stripes is a good choice because you love Bill Murray. Big Lebowski is also referenced all the time and it would be hilarious to watch so soon after Iron Man. But it's a big swerve to a very different generation. I really don't think Men in Tights works without seeing Prince of Thieves first. Or at least it doesn't work nearly as well so why do it? And Prince of Thieves is accidentally funny. You can always watch it first without doing a reaction if that's a pain.

Kristen North

Lebowski isn't really in the same genre as the others.

Kristen North

She's already said she's doing them both. And a lot of us don't watch any other reactors.

Kristen North

There are at least 20 other Airplane Reactions but no Stripes. 1) Ashleigh is in love with Bill Murray. 2) John Candy 3) Airplane sucks when you've already watched every other reactor watch it dozens of times. Stripes is a superior movie in everyway from directing, plot, acting, future actors actually going on to be huge not old actors on their way to the grave. Ashleigh, be original and screw this poll. Following this poll just means you react to something everyone and their grandmother (Storm Akima included I'm sure) but Stripes would be your own. Be original and not give in to the people who want to watch a reactor watch the same movie as every other reactor, how else will you differentiate yourself from them based on little teaser icons. If I search Airplane reactions, you'd be just one of many to choose from and the odds a stranger who doesn't know you is going to arbitrarily just pick yours over any others is taking a chance with your likes and furthering yourself cause we've all seen everyone react to Airplane already. Your polls could actually just reflect movies that AREN'T already been done to death. All you need to do is see what all the other reactors are copying each other over and NOT DO THAT. Though Airplane is hilarious and you really do need to see it. Just not in front of everyone whose already watched all the other reactors beat you to it.

Jason L

HELL YESS

Ashleigh Burton

Looks like Airplane! is definitely going to win!

Ashleigh Burton

Airplane is certainly the funniest of these, funnier than most frankly. It is non-stop gags. Along similar lines are the three Naked Gun movies: The Naked Gun, The Naked Gun 2½, The Naked Gun 33⅓.

Elliot Nesterman

Airplane 2 was awful. Must avoid at all costs!

Graham Martin

Airplane! Is great and I really think you will love it but Stripes has Bill Murray and John Candy so... You know...

Terrel Geer

Airplane! is a comedy classic spawning multiple memes, gifs, and references to it over the past few decades. It has pop cultural references in it though that you will not understand, like the reference to a coffee commercial (iirc Folgers) at the time (couple is out and husband orders coffee, and an echoing voice over for the wife's thoughts say, "he never (drinks) (my) coffee at home..."). You can probably find the old commercial on YouTube.

ITPalg

Field of Dreams!

Future Boy

I am not ashamed that I voted for Men in Tights over The Big Lebowski, and I haven't lost perspective. I've seen The Big Lebowski a few times and it's not my thing, but that doesn't mean that I think Ashleigh shouldn't react to it. I'm sure she eventually will, and it doesn't need my vote to get on the list.

Lynnetta

I forgot about this one! I totally agree with you. Ditto vote

As you a big fan of Madeline Kahn, you should watch What's Up, Doc. It was her movie debut.

Alaina Stone

Field of Dreams, Sin City, Rudy, Breaker Morant, The Right Stuff, Biloxi Blues.

Paul Kay

I'm still harping on Smokey & the Bandit and (not quite a classic) No Country for Old Men, though I'll also join others here in recommending Better Off Dead and Three Amigos; maybe even a 1986 Comedy by Sam Raimi and the Coen Brothers called, Crimewave! :p

I honestly don't know if she's actually going to make it through Airplane 😁🤦‍♀️🙈🤭😏🤣😂

Danika Silva

I'd be happy with three of four here. Never cared for Robin Hood in any form. Love the other three, especially the Big Lebowski.

Robert Reichle

Word for word agreement here.

T.J. Gengler

I had to look back at your reactions because I couldn't believe you haven't seen Airplane yet. It's a classic! Woohoo! You'll laugh your ass off!

Mo Vetta

The only movie on that list I don't care for is Big Lebowski. The rest are great, especially Airplane, one of my favorite comedies ever!

David Crabtree

For comedies I suggest: Best in Show, Muriel’s Wedding, Juno,Pricilla Queen of the Dessert, The Birdcage, Bridesmaids, and Parenthood

Juley

Geez Louise, it's chaos in here. If you want to recommend a movie do you have to suggest it on every single post? Perhaps some sort of movie recommendation post, once a month, with X suggestions per person, could be helpful?! That being said, if the people here are voting for Men in Tights over Big Lebowski, I think they have lost all perspective. Of course, that's just my opinion. Perhaps it'd be better to check back in a few months and see where your audience is at then.

Uncle 'Traveling' Matt

I’m ready for that Airplane reaction! ✈️

Gio Vidrio

ohhh yeah airplane!

EF3078

You should start tackling these movies by the actor. Kevin Costner and Tom Hanks has been suggested. I would add Will Smith. I am Legend, The Pursuit if Happyness, Men in Black, Hitch, I Robot, Hancock, Concussion,.

Matt Dellarosa

Hubby says Stripes, which is also awesome. I chose Airplane!

Terri Vineyard

I voted for Lebowski, but I readily admit that Airplane! is an absolutely essential view. Of all the movies you should have watched by now, you really, really, really should have watched Airplane! by now.

Michael Buhl

For the Evil Dead, I would suggest starting with the 2nd one, remember the 3rd has a different name (Army of Darkness), also the originals not the 2015 remake. They don't make it easy.

Jack Jones

And remember, every reactor doing Airplane, Holy Grail, Jaws or the MCU...is another human being admitting they HAVEN'T SEEN THEM. We're doing holy work. :)

Eric Janssen

I would like to suggest "The Legend of Billie Jean". It's a great movie, but not as well known. :)

Jill Bristol

For ideas, can I suggest: Duck Soup (1933) Office Space A Town Called Panic Friday And for your next Hallow-Beans: Little Shop of Horrors American Werewolf in London The EVIL DEAD TRILOGY!!!!

Ash ISN'T the same reactor as all the others...That's the fun. :)

Eric Janssen

I'm actually really looking forward to the What about Bob? Reaction. Arguable one of Bill Murray's best movies.

Matt Dellarosa

Stripes is a horrendously overrated movie. A couple of funny parts but overall a total B.S. movie with a ridiculous premise and no real point. It's a waste of time.

Matt Dellarosa

I'm going to keep hoping for Robin Hood MIT one day, but honestly, Airplane is fantastic, too

BeastialMoon

I'd like to say All of the Above, they all should be reacted to at some point.

Windfury

I'm guessing a lot of close-up shots of the "Oh, STOP..." face from Holy Grail and the Mel Brooks movies.

Eric Janssen

Yes.... good idea, she really needs to do Lethal Weapon 2 and why not... Die Hard 2

Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid involves knowing classic 40's movies even folks HERE haven't watched, while The Man with Two Brains can be watched by the freshest audiences. And the Superman "Special Edition" on Blu combines the Theatrical Cut with only a few choice bits from the Extended Padded TV Cut to give us the best of both worlds.

Eric Janssen

Just because a lot of others have reacted to something doesn't mean Ashleigh should ignore somethings existence. Not that I watch a lot of other "reaction" channels, but out of the 9 movies we've had this month I think at least half have likely been things nobody else has reacted to, and most of the others have been rare. The odd Iron Man or Airplane is not "ruining" the channel (which need I remind you started with Star Wars and Back to the Future, not exactly unusual choices). A healthy mix is great.

Kenton Kruger

Airplane, if only as an excuse to watch Airplane II: the Sequel. (And speaking of William Shatner, has she needed to do any of the classic Star Trek movies? Nobody's seemed to have reacted to Wrath of Khan yet, so I assume everyone knows it from birth.)

Eric Janssen

M*A*S*H or Diggstown with James Woods but you already knew that lol

eric brown

First Blood Top Gun Ferris Buellers Day Off Officer and a Gentleman Wouldn't mind a Jack Nicholson month A Few Good Men As Good as it Gets Batman Easy Rider Mars Attacks

Tim Gilbert

Would love to see Ashleigh's reaction to old classics like Casablanca. The Maltese Falcon and Double Indemnity would be good also. No one reacts to film noir and it is my favorite genre.

Bill Bevins

I wonder what Ashleigh would think about Bachelor Party?

Thomas Ivie

Stripes and Airplane are my votes. I'll also say for things not on the list, Harvey, starring Jimmy Stewart, Casablanca, and the original Superman starring Christopher Reeve.

Kevin Mowery

Looks like Airplane! is winning, which I'm happy about, because I love that movie. It's very slapstick style comedy that you may or may not like. I'll be interested to see your reaction to it.

Michael Waldrep

Have you ever seen Casablanca? I mean...

Rhinehold

I love Return to Me.

Keri Parmeter

I 100% second Dirty Dancing and Hudsucker Proxy!! I went into that second one knowing NOTHING and loved it.

Keri Parmeter

Better Off Dead and Grosse Pointe Blank definitely deserve a watch. Any Dolly fan should see 9 to 5 - she is hilarious in it. Going back a little further in time I would also recommend Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein, Singin' In The Rain, and Notorious with Cary Grant and Ingrid Bergman, a forgotten classic in the Alfred Hitchcock filmography. One more for consideration: Gremlins 2: The New Batch - maybe even a sequel month for some of the films she has already watched?

Cristina Collins-Armstrong

Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid (RIP Carl Reiner), Silverado, The Three Amigos and definitely Superman (theatrical cut because it’s not padded).

Rich Wagener

I can just see Ashleigh's look at the end of Sleepaway Camp. It would be priceless.

Alexander Fish

I second the vote for Tom Hanks. Big, The Money Pit, Nothing in Common, Philadelphia, Catch me if you can, Apollo 13, and of course the greatest Tom Hanks movie of all time...The Burbs.

Matt Dellarosa

70's/80's Movies (Forgive if they have already been seen): The Outsiders, Labyrinth, Trading Places, Superman, Tron, Terminator, Rocky, Karate Kid, They Live, Enemy Mine, Starman, Running Man, Conan, Twins (Let's be honest, any Arnold movie really,) Batman, Explorers, Footloose, Weird Science, Short Circuit, Highlander, Toxic Avenger, Eddie Murphy Movies ala Beverly Hills Cop I & II, Coming to America, Land Before Time, Revenge of the Nerds, Willow, Top Gun, Dirty Dancing, Last Starfighter, UHF, Better Off Dead, Adventures in Babysitting, Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, Sleepaway Camp, Rain Man, Color Purple, Can't Buy Me Love, 9 to 5, The Vacation Movies, Stand By Me, Sixteen Candles, Ferris Bueller, Who Framed Roger Rabbit

Dave Frostdusk

out of this list I choose Stripes, but also looking forward to you watching return to me. If anything there is Sweetest Day in Oct. for the next romantic day...

Tim Phistry

Again?

Moni Castaneda

Instead of watching Robin Hood (staring Cary Elwes in his worst movie), you should watch The Princess bride (staring Cary Elwes in his BEST movie!)

Graham Martin

Robin Hood is a dud. It's not as good as people remember. (Neither is Stripes, but Stripes is better the Robin Hood and Stripes has Murray.)

Graham Martin

One of the best directors to ever make a film. ANY of his films would be epic. Just had a Tarantino month!

Graham Martin

All four of those are great movies. I voted for Stripes just because Airplane looks like it will win and maybe a strong second will get Stripes a chance as well. Some other suggestions - Tremors Grosse Pointe Blank Better Off Dead I Love You to Death

JayF

Seconded! Can we get Thirded, Fourthed, Fifthed, etc.?!?

JHB

Niklas Squishy Kitteh thinks you should do a binge-watch of at least a few, and maybe have Hubbens in on it too. You could raffle off some merch as well. 🐈🧶🎬🎟

Shreakin Warrior

I'm not sure you've seen any Tom Hanks movies yet so here are some recs: Big, Splash, Money Pit, Forrest Gump, A League of Their Own, Sleepless in Seattle, and my all-time favorite, The 'Burbs! I'd also love to see your reaction to Cocoon, Batteries Not Included, The Hudsucker Proxy, Dirty Dancing, and maybe a Jane Austen like Emma or Pride and Prejudice.

Laura Neary Smith

I don't think Stripes is as funny as people remember it to be. It gets semi-serious 1/2 way through and just becomes a boring slog, IMHO. Then again, maybe I am misremembering?

Graham Martin

Suggestion: Since you loved Big trouble in Little China so much, you should watch The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension. Same writer and even crazier with tons of famous people and hilarious moments. You will be giving a WTF look every 5 seconds.

Graham Martin

Field of dreams, dances with wolves, the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy, wild, into the wild, sweet home Alabama, girl interrupted, willy Wonka and the chocolate factory (the original), the producers (the original). That's a handful of guaranteed great movies to add to your list. I only included the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy because I'm currently reading the book but the movie is good.

Matt Dellarosa

Love Murray, but Stripes is not as good as people remember it to be. Are there great scenes? Yes! Does it hold up? Not at all. I think people base their opinions on how they remember feeling when they saw it when they were younger, but it hasn't aged well. Robin Hood should be avoided at all costs. The quality of Mel Brooks' films is a lesson of starting out at the top of his field and slowly declining into awfulness. Both Airplane and Big Lebowski are top tier!

Graham Martin

Voted for Airplane cause it's just a classic I know you'll enjoy. You'll like Stripes but you've seen a lot of Bill Murray lately so thought you might wanna save it for a bit. Honestly not sure if The Big Lebowski is gonna be your cup of tea, cult classic and full of great lines though and I do think it's worth watching. And I'd say it would really be worth waiting on Men in Tights till you've first watched Robin Hood Prince of Thieves with Kevin Costner so that you get more out of the spoof.

Laura Neary Smith

💜 The Dark Crystal

Amy Silknitter

Jurassic Park for sure. Twister is a fun one, too.

Amy Silknitter

I second this suggestion!

Laura Neary Smith

Robin Hood Men In Tights but first you need to do Rodin Hood Prince of Thieves.

Rachel Culpepper

From that list: Stripes. I have three words for you, just three words: Young. Bill. Murray. And another three: more John Candy. Airplane has been reacted to over and over. And since it's an early 80s parody movie, if you watch it you should probably set up a fan to blow into your hair to simulate all the references that will go WHOOSH! past your head. Don't get me wrong, it'll still be a fun movie, but give it more time.

JHB

9 to 5 !

Christine

One I don't see reacted to...probably because everyone has already seen it; is A Knights Tale. Alan Tudyk, Paul Bettany, Heath Ledger...fighting, comedy, dancing. It's a great movie that nobody talks about.

Keith Jones

Every reactor has done Airplane! To death! If you click, Airplane! reactions you'll see dozens and dozens of them that have been going up for about 6 months or more so Airplane is WAY overly saturated and watched to death. I would love to start seeing reactors who react to things that all of the others aren't. One reacts to Queen, they all react to Queen and then just Queen. One reacts to GoT, they all do. There are SO MANY OPTIONS! I feel like if they are all doing all of those movies in your poll and since all of those movies are movies I've watched a lot of other reactors watch, stay away for a little while. Let the hype around Forest Gump and Saving Private Ryan die down and if you want Tom Hanks watch Bachelor Party case no one else is. It's almost like reactors only look to see what others are reacting to and assuming that's what we want to see but I've already watched from Nat Gold to Sesskasays and a dozen others with these movies. Though I saw to guys do Invasion of the Body Snatchers and the Mad Max Quad then the Evil Dead movies, and it was so nice because NO ONE ELSE HAS DONE THEM and WE ALL KNOW THOSE ARE BETTER MOVIES THAN MCU OR STAR WARS. So lets all be really helpful people and keep Ashleigh from being another reactor reacting to the same stuff as the last reactor.

Jason L

The one I think you would really like most is STRIPES but AIRPLANE is one of the funniest movies ever, just behind BLAZING SADDLES on my list, so I voted for that.

Steven

Lebowski is a must watch. Should have been after Raising Arizona.

I’d love for you to watch 3 of my all time favourite movies growing up as a kid in the 80’s, I even introduced them to my kids when they were younger, and they love them just as much as me. And I’m hoping there’s many of your members that will agree with me, and love them just as much as me👍🇬🇧😁❤️🥰 THE DARK CRYSTAL (1982) LABYRINTH (1986) NEVER ENDING STORY (1984) The dark crystal also has a prequel series on Netflix called “The dark crystal: Age of resistance” but unfortunately got cancelled after the first series.😢

Mandy Sherratt

I just rewatched your reaction to Steel Magnolias, and I kept thinking, she needs another great National Treasure Dolly Parton film. The two that really smack of the 80’s and also highlight Dolly’s comedic timing and talents are “9 to 5” and “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas”. I think she’d love them both: funny, a touch naughty, and Dolly-filled awesomeness!

Since you’re watching the comments for suggestions :-) Some Summer blockbusters: Twister Jurassic Park Lake Placid (ok, this one is more of a cult classic, but oh so good) More Jack Nicholson: Something’s Gotta Give As Good As It Gets More Bill Murray: Lost in Translation 80s pre-teen fun: Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead Adventures in Babysitting Can anybody back me up on any of these ?

Christine

Yes, yes, yes to Airplane! I know it's been requested for awhile. It's just a lot of STUPID (in a good way) fun.

Matt O'Keefe

Ashleigh thought Mad, Mad World was too long and slow. Can't imagine how she'd handle Lawrence of Arabia.

Bill Bevins

Warning! The first time I watched Airplane I didn't really like it. It grows on you. Some people love it from the start.

Wesley Eskildsen

"You want a toe? I can get you a toe." That line always cracked me up. I also found Jesus's way of cleaning bowling balls disturbing.

Bill Bevins

Even though the Big Lebowski is my all time favorite. I think a great choice is Robin Hood men in tights.

Patrick Anderson

All good. But Robin Hood is needs context. You should be familiar with Prince of Thieves. Sticking with my two suggestions: Ladyhawke and The Karate Kid.

Heather Qualy

Definitely Ladyhawk. Very underrated movie,

Bill Bevins

I bet Ashleigh is like what are they on about Surely/Shirley lol

Michael Johnson

Man With Two Brains and The Lonely Guy are v funny too.

PieHard13

Whichever one wins the poll, you should do all of them as they are all funny movies. Voted for The Big Lebowski. Surprised it's in last place.

Bill Bevins

And don’t call me Shirley!

Alyssa Anderson

Theme wise - originals/remakes. Watch the original then the remake then compare the two and say which you liked best. There's tons you could do. You could post up the review for the original for Monday, remake for Friday OR you could do both in one video.

PieHard13

All great choices. Voted for STRIPES. Can't wait to see your reactions. You have to look into some Robin Williams movies for true insanity. BIRDCAGE, MRS. DOUBTFIRE and the best of all GOOD MORNING VIETNAM.

Jon Krantz

such a hard choice they are all great and make for a great weekend of watching

David Harrison

Ohh good point!

Angela Munoz

Airplane is a must.

Kristopher McCoy

Airplane! you kinda have to watch twice. Once to laugh at it, then again to laugh at the things you missed from laughing the first time.

PieHard13

Out of those "Airplane!", of course...

Manuel Johnen

Some great choices, I voted for Airplane and Stripes, just brilliant.👍😃🇬🇧

Mandy Sherratt

Surely you must watch Airplane ✈

Michael Johnson

Not a dud in the group. It's a good thing you can vote for more than one in the poll. I'm going to add a new movie I haven't seen mentioned before: 1941 (1979). You'll recognize a lot of the stars in the movie plus the director plus laugh your ass off. And it's a good history lesson 😉

Thomas Ivie

Stripes has one of your favorite actors, but Airplane is a huge classic with a type of humor a bit different than what you've seen so far, but I think you'll be rolling on the floor.

Mark Lee

Yes

Brett Delbridge

You actually can, the poll will let you choose as many as you want.

Tyler Foster

You definitely need to watch Robin Hood Prince of Thieves before you watch Men in Tights.

Nessa Arandur

AIRPLANE! AIRPLANE! AIRPLANE! You'll be rolling on the floor laughing.

Patrick Maloney

Yeah....that’d be great

Brett Delbridge

Can I say “All of the above”?

Brett Delbridge

🇦🇺

Brett Delbridge

Office Space

TheNeonRabbit

✈️

James Rose

Lawrence of Arabia (1962) Master and Commander (2003) Gettysburg (1993)

ComicBookGuy

This was that hardest decision - they are all good! I also like The Jerk, hilarious.

Rebecca Anne

Robin Hood Men in Tights is funny, but it would make more sense if you watch it after Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. Men in Tights is a spoof of Prince of Thieves.

Andy H.

Not a bad one in the bunch! I will always choose The Big Lebowski though.

Karen S

YOU KNOW I LOVE JOHN CANDY AND BILL MURRAY

Ashleigh Burton

The Big Lebowski tends to split audiences into love/hate camps. I didn’t especially care for it the first time I saw it, but it grew on me. Stripes, on the other hand, is easier to predict your reaction to — You will love it!

Wally Hartshorn

YOU KNOW HOW I FEEL ABOUT THAT.

Ashleigh Burton

Don't worry - if neither of those movie win this time, they will be on the next poll! 😎

Ashleigh Burton

I would love to see you start in the Tarantino world, Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, etc. So many good movies!

MrBamaRed

Girl, you will love Stripes because not only does it have Bill Murray, but also John Candy! It's a must-see. I grew up in the military and right now I'm in Army wife. One of my absolute favorite movies growing up

Katrina Rochon

Holy Crap, this is a good list

Bleedingreen

Airplane has more gags......THEN watch little shop of horrors for a John Candy and Bill Murray fix

Working Girl (Harrison Ford, Melanie Griffith, Sigourney Weaver, Alec Baldwin) Ladyhawke (Matthew Broderick, Michelle Pfeiffer, Rutger Hauer) Edit to add: Dirty Dancing!!! (Patrick Swayze, Jennifer Grey)

Red Dwarf

I honestly love all of these movies; but only one has Bill Murray in it...

Keith Jones

You gotta watch bill Murray in stripes. It’s a real classic. I do like the big Lebowski, too

melissa goff

You should check out The Dish. It’s a great movie.
