Nope Coulson is no double agent, he becomes one of the MCU’s most beloved characters.

So so happy that you loved this one Ashleigh. I grew up in the 80s reading the comics the MCU is based off of and like all my peers waited a seeming eternity for technology to reach a point where these movies could be made and wow do they not disappoint! I’ve found they build a fantastic bridge between us oldies and millennials (and my kids 9 & 18!). I totally back the Patreon who suggested dedicating a Wednesday slot to the MCU movie reactions. They are very tightly linked to each other and a lot of reactors spend a lot of time trying to remember what happened in previous movies or not getting references because they’ve spaced out their watching too much. So either doing the recording a few movies at a time and banking episodes to release over a longer period or adding a Wednesday drop slot just for MCU will be a good solution for that.

Do you have live reacts?

Edward Martin

I love your reacts, absotively posolutely!

i had considered having her skip Incredible Hulk but for a few reasons i didnt. Because she is going in blind and at least some back story would be good, one of the characters from this movie shows up in 2 later MCU movies and another character has been announced to come back in a later MCU TV show.

Bleedingreen

Yay! MCU! I've watched them all so many times that I've lost count. Have fun with it!

primatador

Each of the heroes have a different feel for their individual movies. Enjoy the ride and welcome to a whole new world!

Oouga

it would be very successful too, in terms of view

ingibingi2000

I say skip the Hulk Stand-Alones ... aside from the after credits scene there is nothing to gain from the movies. The old TV show still has the best origin story for hulk.;

The workload might be too much, but I agree with all of those who have suggested that maybe going through a Marvel movie every Wednesday would be fun. I would certainly enjoy a third upload a week, and I think it would be great for both the Marvel enjoyers AND the Marvel haters if the MCU didn't take up one of the two slots we already have.

For when you do the MCU "Incredible Hulk" (2008): Before watching, ask a couple of your most trusted patrons to give you a quick rundown on things it sort-of refers to from the non-MCU 2003 Hulk movie. It CAN be done non-spoilery. The MCU one sort of piggybacks on the 2003 one to avoid rehashing the origin story just five years after the previous movie. The things the MCU one refers to aren't specific, but it does refer to stuff that happened "five years ago." It's just stuff that orients you about the basic situation in the MCU version, and since anybody watching a Hulk movie in 2008 would have seen the 2003 one it came naturally enough, but I've seen reactors who hadn't seen the earlier movie kind of get thrown by the situation because there was no origin story. You don't really need to see the whole 2003 movie to be given a non-spoiler sketch of what the MCU movie is piggybacking on.

Fun Fact: The “Bullets ricochet” shooter in the cave is none other than Tom Morello, lead guitarist for Rage Against The Machine!

The bald scientist that Obadiah yells at is Ralphie from A Christmas Story.

are you going to add a new day just for marvel?

i cannot wait to see all these reactions!!! im so excited!!!

FYI, the guy that Tony calls Hugh Heffner is actually Stan Lee. He's a legend in the Marvel comics world. He was the face of Marvel comics for over 50 years and the co-creator of many of the characters. I actually got to meet him at a comic con before he passed away and he was fantastic. He has a cameo in all of the movies up until he passed away at 95 years old in 2018. Keep a lookout for him. His cameos are never very long, but it's always fun to spot him! 😁

Shadowcat

This journey will be good!

Love the Marvel movies . You will love the MCU Ashleigh

Snacky Munchies

I am so, so excited for Ash to discover the MCU aaaaaaah!

Opti_Frog

I've seen every MCU movie (except Hulk) at least five times. Some of them, I've seen closer to ten times. Still, I'm going to follow along with all of these and watch them again. There's a bit of a lull in there where I'm not too keen on a movie or two, but otherwise, I'll be getting goosebumps every time I see a notification that we get another one of these reactions.

Robert Reichle

what about just Marvel Wednesdays?

Foggy

One a month means almost 2 years until you reach wandavision lol

Michael Johnson

I have a suggestion. A Monthly Marvel Wednesday. A Marvel feature every month on a Wednesday. That way you wouldn’t interrupt Millennial Movie Monday or Movie Member Friday’s and it’s a long enough interval to keep you from burning out on them. Plus it’s something for us (as Patreons) to look forward to. I wouldn’t want you to over work yourself though. I know editing these things takes time and can be a pain.

SplinterTME

*tips hat* Looking forward to her journey through the first three phases, and hopefully beyond.

So glad you enjoyed it. Yes i am the one starting Ashleigh on the MCU. I can understand peoples objections and not liking these movies but i challenge the naysayers to give these movies a chance. These are more then just explosions. As the MCU goes on with movies like Winter Soldier, Civil War, Black Panther, Infinity War and Endgame and now even WandaVision and Falcon and the Winter Soldier tv shows, these movies actually pose some interesting questions. You dont have to watch the whole movie, just check out the shortened versions. You never know you may enjoy them. Even though i am a huge fan of these movies, thats not the reason i started her on these. I did because i felt it would bring in more views which means more subs which means more friends. And hey more friends is a good thing. Also because i honestly felt she would enjoy these and we are off to good start. Lets not take things so seriously, its ok to have fun and these movies are fun. For some reason that word "fun" , when it comes to movies has become a dirty word. I disagree. These movies make me feel young again, just give them a chance.

Bleedingreen

Have fun with the MCU! Cheers!

Tbh I’m a little shocked you decided to jump into the mcu, but in the best way possible ❤️❤️❤️. You’re taking your first steps into a much larger world.

cainnum

Friend, that is absolutely NOT true. The second official MCU movie is "The Incredible Hulk" with Ed Norton, and it most definitely counts. It is referenced in later movies, one of the main characters shows up later in the MCU as the same character/actor, the movie includes a pre-credit sequence that includes another MCU character/actor and, if those things aren't enough, the MCU says it is MCU.

Thomas Yanez

Glad she started with Iron Man. Hulk films don’t fit into this universe until the Ruffalo versions.

While I do agree with your enthusiasm, especially after seeing how much she enjoyed "Iron Man", I still think there is some importance with viewing order - namely just watch the dang things in the order they were released. Most of them fit very specifically in a timeline, have references to the movies before them, and many of the extra bits during the credits serve as glue between them.

Thomas Yanez

OMG YES!!! I needed my Ahsleigh fix for today! And the MCU is a mega bonus!!... My advice to you is don't listen to anybody about these movies... watch them for fun as they should, don't worry about the chronology or continuity or comic book references or any cameos and stuff, just watch them for the joy of it... (oh and don't forget the post credits scenes in all of them...) okay, gonna get my snacks ready and enjoy the movie... at work... cause it's slow... and I'm like the boss' daughter so, yeah...

Moni Castaneda

My bad the Incredible Hulk came out after Iron Man.

Jason Nunez

I've never done a full watch along, I think that will change tonight

Mark Finley

This is the first movie... Maybe not chronologically but first released...
