WATCH ALONG: Run Lola Run

Comments

Lola bet $100 (the first time) so she won $3500. Then she bet $3600 the second time and won $126,000.

Okay.... that left me with a sorta WTF feeling. That may have been the idea. So frenetically paced I actually felt a little exhausted towards the end, like I had ben the one running the whole time. I should also say that if this had had a known actor in it, their presence would've been totally distracting. Lesson I learned? It's amazing how much nurturing and reassurance we need in a relationship when life has kind of damaged us all. Let's keep Mad March rolling folks!

I picked kung fu hustle for next month,

I'd love to see you react to "Smokey & the Bandit" and "No Country for Old Men!"

I love this film. Never expected to see someone watch it for a reaction. As for subtitled films: The Jet Li film "Hero" is one of my favorites.

Hylaea

Some other great subtitled films I recommend are Mel Gibson's "Apocalypto"(2006) an adventure/hero's journey film set in 14th century Central America and Akira Kurosawa's "Ran"(1985) a reimagining of Shakespeare's "King Lear" set in feudal Japan

Paul Johnson

Well, that was interesting.

Thomas Yanez

That must have been great in the theater. I didn't hear about it until it was out on dvd and saw it at home. Can't believe anyone is reacting to it.

Robert Reichle

I actually own this movie! So glad one your MMM suggested it!

primatador

This movie is mostly a music video for it's great soundtrack. Interesting tidbit: in most of the songs that have English lyrics the singer is Franka Potente, the actress who plays Lola.

Tom Evans

Love this one. thought big trouble in little China was next

cainnum

I saw it in a film class I took in college

ingibingi2000

At its widest release, it was only playing in 172 theaters in the U.S., in the last half of 1999. I saw it in an art theater that often showed foreign films. This was the same time frame that Star Wars: The Phantom Menace and The Matrix were dominating.

Edward Olson

OMG. I've never heard of this movie. How did that one slip by me.

Mark Dunham

Oh cool, haven't seen this one since it was in theaters...

Moni Castaneda

I own this movie as well. I saw this in a theater when it came out originally. I wouldn't have suggested it for the channel because I don't think it's well-known enough to attract viewers.

Edward Olson

Oddly... I actually own this dvd!!! Great flick.
