I kept laughing at you saying, "this feels like a finale!" The pacing of season 7 is admittedly quite odd since it's split up to 7a/7b and has the extra special so I don't blame you for not realizing it was the finale. Seeing River always has me in tears. It was nice to get a proper goodbye since she just kind of dropped out of the story when Amy/Rory did. What a fantastic character. And while they've had fun sexy banter, I feel like this kiss was the most romantic moment they had. Oh man, RIP River. I can't wait for you to watch the 50th anniversary special!! I saw it in theaters when it originally aired (it came to theaters all over the US). I also was at comic-con that year and the marketing campaign for it was massive, the show overall was bigger at the time. I still have my 50th anniversary comic-con t-shirt I bought there. They splashed out for the 60th a few years ago as well. I can imagine myself wrinkly and gray, rocking my 100th anniversary t-shirt and eagerly watching the big centenary special haha.
