schedule & update about marvel movies!

here is the delayed schedule for the week. thank you all for being so understanding about the holidays and how that has set me back! frieren episode 8 will also still be posted some point today thanks for your patience!
also i wanted to post an update regarding marvel movies. disney+ has been moved up to the priority on the BDS boycott list to pressure this company along with others for their complicity in israel's occupation, apartheid and genocide against indigenous palestinians. i am doing what's in my power to boycott these companies and this now includes disney+, which of course is where i'd watch marvel movies. so for the time being, marvel movies will be on hold.
i don't think of this as a negative though! we have been watching a great variety of movies lately and i've really been enjoying it! marvel will always be there as well. this month alone i'm looking forward to watching the titanic for the first time, and the second hunger games movie!

also i didn't think i had to say this but the last time i posted about my support for palestine someone cancelled their pledge claiming i am anti-semitic. i cannot stress how untrue this is, and i hope the majority of you all know that. my grandfather himself was czech and jewish born, and was a survivor of the holocaust. if you still feel uncomfortable or opposition of my view, then i fear that this is not the right community for you.

The boycotts are the social equivalent of financial sanctions such as those currently being applied by western nations to an eastern nation due to their military actions. Countries like the UK have applied military restrictions to Israel but have stopped short of financial sanctions thus far. For me, we've been funding Operation UNIFIL since the 70s because of Israel's ****, something in that region needs to change, whether it be through social actions or nations intervening more sternly.

2024-12-31 22:38:21 +0000 UTCBDS and their boycotts predate the current issues as BDS were founded in 2005, and Al Jazeera having reported upon the boycott of Sodastream in 2014 which after just performing a deep dive thereof it is an incredibly complex issue.

2024-12-31 22:35:40 +0000 UTCHonestly, regardless of the palestinian issue (I support everyone on earth to be a free person), some of these huge companies really need to be held accountable, some truly despicable behaviour. Disney is absolutely gone off the deep end. But also ones like Balenciaga, I will never forget the horrible campaigne they did, just wish they went under for it.

Selfishly, I am bummed because I am looking forward to those reactions. But I understand your viewpoint and am also opposed to the current Israeli leadership. Ultimately it is your chanel and your decision. I appreciate your communication on your decision making.

2024-12-30 20:19:56 +0000 UTCthe BDS movement is extremely clear on what it means. https://bdsmovement.net/call the impact of any individual boycott is going to be negligible in the grand scheme of things, but as acts of solidarity with movements they do move the needle (we are already seeing reticence from the Israeli government thanks to indirect business pressures). and at the end of the day it's about what you can live with. me not buying stuff during strikes and boycotts isnt gonna change the world but it makes me sleep better at night π€·

2024-12-30 19:24:47 +0000 UTCI 100% support this and think it's really cool you're doing it, basically no other reactors are π . the false equivalence of "supporting a free palestine = antisemitism" is a cynical ploy to try to make it so noone can ever support palestine without being seen as anti-semetic, and most people are (rightfully) terrified of being labelled antisemetic in a world where nazism is increasingly on the rise. its nasty stuff. many Jewish people stand against the ongoing genocide... if you don't know much it's really, really bad y'all

So I support your decision fully for this temp. boycot of Marvel and Disney+ . Personally I don't want to use Twitter/X so I will look for another place to read more about the BDS movement.
