Why Rifujin decided to write Rudy this way ... roughly 2% of Japan's male population live like Rudy did, he is trying to get to them by showing that even this absolutely horrible person can change, there are hundreds of thousands of posts on social media talking about how MT helped them get their life back on track.

2026-01-23 18:48:13 +0000 UTCYou guys get it. There is so much to critisize. THAT IS THE POINT. The show is about humanity. Not perfect "heroes" destined to slay the demon king that can do no wrong. It's about every character just being human. Flawed normal humans imperfections and all. What matters is whether or not one tries to grow and be better. Btw, given the other shows you are watching. Oshi No Ko is a no brainer. Frieren, mushoku and oshi no ko all focus on humanity and relationships and real life struggles. JJK is more focused on usual good vs evil shonin trope. It's fantastic show but it has radical contrast to themes of what you're already watching while OnK will fit right into the same mental state of other stuff you're watching. It's no brainer to me.

2026-01-16 21:55:01 +0000 UTCWhile Mushoku Tensei isn't the first isekai, it is called the mother of all isekai's for a reason ^^ The writing is so good and ingenious, it set the baseline standard for all isekai that followed after it. All of the common tropes you see in "modern" (last 13 years) of isekai exist because the author of MT combined them into his novel and the writing was so good, it single-handedly "mainstreamed" the isekai genre and made it popular. Isekai wouldn't have popped off like it did if MT never existed.
