Recently joined here and really like your reactions. I usually watch the series in the order they are broadcasted, almost always that's how the producers of the shows intended us to watch. Also, as far as I know both Steins;Gate and Steins;Gate 0 are from VN games and they are released several years in between them, so in a way Steins;Gate 0 is a bit of an afterthought. It's definitely nice to watch in this mixed order for rewatching the whole Steins;Gate series and this show definitely has a lot of rewatch value for sure but for the first timers, I think finishing Steins;Gate first and probably following it with the OVA and the movie and then going to Steins;Gate 0 is the better approach, imho.

2025-08-13 10:34:29 +0000 UTCThese two episodes are peak Stein's;Gate. So many crazy thing happened here from Mr.Braun being FB and all of the Moeka stuff all the way to the "plot twist" at the end. The reason why Okabe seems to have forgotten about Kurisu being stabbed until the end of this episode is basically the same reason why you didn't think about it. Too many traumatizing and insane things happened in the last few episodes for Okabe to be thinking about what would happen if he undoes the first D-Mail. He just wasn't focused on it despite the fact that Kurisu being dead in the original timeline is such a critically important thing to remember. And then reality hit him as well as the audience like a truck. I really like how they did this "reveal" which isn't even a real twist or sth. but simply Okabe and the audience being reminded of a harsh truth. ABOUT THE WATCH ORDER: Please, please do not watch the series in the chronological order. It's really not good for a first time watching experience and takes away from the endings impact (but it's an interesting order for rewatches). (1. )First finish the original Stein's;Gate (2.) Then you CAN watch the ep. 25 OVA "Poriomania" and the Deja Vu Movie, however both the OVA and the movie are not canon and optional but still pretty good. You can also watch the OVA and the movie at the very end, after 0. It doesn't really matter. (3.) This is very important: Watch the CANON OVA "Steins;Gate Episode 23b ("Missing Link/Divide by Zero") " BEFORE starting Stein's;Gate 0 since this is the prologue episode to 0. (4.) Watch all of Stein's;Gate 0 (and maybe the Valentine OVA) ABOUT Stein's;Gate 0: Some people, especially visual novel readers tend to dislike it because it's a flawed adaptation of the visual novel and thus obejectively not as good as the original. However, imo I really really enjoyed watching Stein's;Gate 0. I honestly like it even more than the original anime despite its many flaws. Unfortunately I can't explain why due to spoilers. So I hope that you're going to watch it and decide for yourself if you like it or not. It's different from the original but in my opinion in a good way.
