Lmaoo I'm pretty sure everyone had the same thought when they were taking a bath. I was prepared for them to go as far as the toothbrush scene in terms of awkawrd & uncomfortable watching experience, but was shocked that they just kept casually talking and even brought in the post nadeko news while literally washing each other down. They've done it a lot too, just casually talking over fanservice like its nobodies business

2025-07-25 16:49:19 +0000 UTCThe lyrics do try to relate to the story being told. An example would be the iconic Bake ED, which foreshadows the conversation between Araragi and Senjou in ep 12, or the Hana ED that hints at a reunion with someone that Kanbaru admired in the past. I wonder if the lyrics for those songs were consulted with the creators of the anime or Nisio himself, but they seem to be intentionally tied to the story.

2025-07-22 16:13:57 +0000 UTCI think Nesa is right, when she says Shinobu’s take on Ononoki is biased. Shinobu is correct from an epistemological point of view (learning a language indeed is not proof of a wish for naturalization), but still incorrect when it comes to who Ononoki is. Sure, she is a fake, but I would go with Kaiki’s philosophy here: In her deliberate attempt to be real, Ononoki is more real than the real thing. Her dislike of Shinobu, her kindness towards Hachikuji and her care for “brother” Kaiki show that she might be without expression, but clearly is not without emotion. As a doll-Tsukumogami it does lie within her nature to appear human-like without being human, but I think we’ll find that Ononoki is pushing the envelope.

2025-07-22 09:13:16 +0000 UTCAlways seemed to me the endings are more generic and not related too much to the individual characters. They're not being sung by the characters at least.

2025-07-22 05:14:33 +0000 UTCA comprehensible and exhaustive guide through Nisio translations. Literally everything that he's written been involved in: https://swaytranslations.wordpress.com/information/ When you guys do eventually watch some of his other works, you'll notice a lot of similarities in things like writing style, story structure, and character archetypes but they might be used in a different way or have different outcomes and explored themes. He has written a lot of stuff and I wouldn't consider myself an expert on him but he has written several short stories for other series that he loves, Jojo's you mentioned is a monologue-type story from the perspective of Dio Brando but he's also written for xxxHOLIC and a mystery novel called "Death Note Another Note: The Los Angeles BB Murder Cases" obviously related to Death Note, specifically centered around L working on cases in the US. I think his best work that's been animated aside from Monogatari though is probably Katanagatari (no relation). Zaregoto (Kubikiri Cycle) is good but it's much shorter and sort of.. well I won't spoil anything but I didn't find it as compelling as either Mono or Katana.

2025-07-22 03:15:34 +0000 UTC14:30 He's doing the dance from the OP in Tsukihi Phoenix - Platinum Disco. 16:55 "They're gonna stop being fake." I only bring it up because you specifically said this, but yeah once again the whole nakedness = honesty/forthrightness thing. This one especially though (I think anyways) is weirdly the most fanservicey scene in the show. I think it doesn't bother me as much because by this point we've seen it all and the sexuality isn't played up as much (a la dental hygiene devices), but in terms of unnecessary eye-catches I feel like this *has* to be the most. I might be just deleting scenes in my brain though. You're right and I'd never really thought about it before that Tsukihi gives oddly wise advice. I think that is even explicitly "her half" of the Fire Sisters. Karen kicks asses but Sage Tsukihi bestows wisdom (I can feel Araragi getting angry as I type this). But it is a little funny that she vacillates from being destructive and impulsive to being so emotionally intelligent and level-headed. No character is ever just one thing or the other I suppose.

2025-07-21 23:28:18 +0000 UTCI think Kubikiri cycle is confirmed for a watch right after Monogatari. Katanagatari is fantastic, Medaka Box is good but ends right at the part of the manga when it gets really good. Pretty Boy Detective Club is solid but a bit forgettable, while Juni Taisen is just too rushed.

2025-07-21 23:12:08 +0000 UTCNisio Isin works that have an anime adaptation so far: - Monogatari Series - Katanagatari - Medaka Box (I wish someone reacted to this, there's like practically no reactions to this T-T ) - Zaregoto Series - Juuni Taisen (Zodiac War) - Pretty Boy Detective Club Another funny anime is "Arakawa Under the Bridge". Only reason I bring that one up is because it's a funny romcom animated by Studio Shaft like Monogatari, with the two main characters, one blond girl and one black haired guy, played by the voice actors of Shinobu and Araragi. So many funny coincidences.

2025-07-21 22:55:01 +0000 UTCNISIOISIN has made a lot of manga and LN's. (over 100 volumes of LN's probably, tons of random manga like Cypher Academy, Imperfect Girl or Shounen Shoujo, and a bunch of one shots) Obviously, his most favored work is Monogatari. I would recommend watching Zaregoto (Kubikiri Cycle) and Katanagatari. Both are very good and worth it. Outside of that, his other anime are: -Medaka Box -Juni Taisen -Pretty Boy Detective Club I have not seen those 3 myself, but opinions on them are kind of mixed.

2025-07-21 22:49:54 +0000 UTCTbh I've always interpreted endings to be a lot less direct than the openings. Like, the openings are sung by the voice actresses, and are meant to be in-character, but the endings are all sung by proffesional singers and bands, so while they may represent the themes of the arc, they're not entirely from the perspective of the titular character. Edit: Lmao the panels you found of Nadeko and the guys are actually the manga she was writing. As Kaiki said, it was a silly romcom with unrealistic male leads, and now you know it was also a self-insert for Nadeko hahaha
