It's hard to speculate accurately on how Senjougahara feels. I think that she does believe he's good at the core. She probably knows, partly, that he did that stuff for her when they first met. How he did his best to break apart their family because he knew that Senjougahara would struggle so long as her mother was still in her life. She struggles to say that she still will resent him even after this. Stuttering as she says she'll "continue to hate him." He drove that wedge into their family more quickly and as she said in Nise, "Just because the outcome would have been the same, can I really forgive the man who caused it?" He did that for her, but he didn't consider her feelings for her mother. He says to Hanekawa last episode "In my line of work people's feelings matter most" but ironically, his inability to consider the full scope of their feelings leads to his downfalls. There's a scene in this episode that is some really good parallel writing/imagery from the anime here too. The shot where he's talking to Ononoki and the entire camera seems to flip upside-down is a call back to one of his lines in the first episode of the arc. When Senjou is trying to convince him to take the job, she asks if he really won't do it for free and he responds "That would never happen, even if heaven and earth flipped over. " When the camera flips upside-down there's an image of a man in the background wall that is an optical illusion where it looks like two different faces right-side up and upside-down. Literally flipping heaven and earth and showing a different face/different side to Kaiki. It's honestly one of the best scenes in the whole show. This arc is told by the ultimate con-man, you have to decipher what's real and what's not. I like to think that this stuff from Ononoki is a clear outlier though - clearly true. It's coming from an outside character, and she's laying out the reasoning for Gaen and herself want him to stop and giving her supporting arguments to why he will fail.

The scene between Kaiki and Ononoki is probably my favorite in the series— I’m happy you felt the emotional impact too. While we’re listening to this story filled with lies, I personally think everything we heard was true. Ononoki reveals Kaiki’s true character and the world turns upside down as we find out the lengths he went to for Senjougahara’s sake. He has no rebuttal except for biting sarcasm, and when forced to confront his past failures, and the possibility he might fail Senjougahara again, we see him actually get ANGRY. Such a powerful moment.
