Back in the world of Mages, Magecraft, and other unexplainable phenomena regarding the origins of humankind and mysticism, there is the Clock Tower where all of Earth's modern mages go to study to become high-end Masters in their field. None more so than Lord El Melloi the Second, current acting director of all Magical affairs and research regarding sacred Artefacts to further understand the inner workings of the world's mysterious origins of 'Magic' and other supernatural wonders. He was in the laboratory testing room where the large disc-shaped obelisk known as the Kaleidoscope was staring him in the face. At the same time, many other Clocktower assistants and scientists, all of whom were Mages, were hurriedly working at their data-analyzing terminals to find out what went wrong. The man wanted to light up a cigarette more than anything right now for he was undoubtedly bothered by the fact that he may have just trapped his prized pupil Rin and her promising Mage-in-training boyfriend Shirou Emiya in another alternate reality. He winced with aggravation until he turned around on his heels, hearing the hiss of the lab doors open to reveal who he had sent one of his assistants to go get. He was glad this particular, if not highly haughty Mage of illustrious bloodline, was not difficult to summon or convinced to lend crucial aid.

"Ah, you're here. Finally, we can get to the bottom of this and perhaps bring both Rin Tohsaka and Shirou Emiya back, I'm sure you don't need much more motivation than that to take part in this, do you, Miss Edelfelt?" He greeted when watching the full-bodied blonde with large breasts, a massive ego, and an air of dignified pedigree walk up to him while wearing a form-fitting Mystic Code outfit for mobility. Instead of her usual elegant dress with opera gloves, Luvia Edelfelt came wearing one of the Mage Association's many 'Dive' suits for safer travels into otherworldly spaces. It was little more than a high-spec jumpsuit comprised of dark leather-like material made out of special properties complete with several blue accent marks lined up along her legs and her arms to better utilize her Magecraft spells in case of combat. Luvia had her elegant, bouncy hair with curled drills for bangs tied back into a ponytail and wore a rare look of determination and focus whereas she usually appeared confident and cocky.

I'm certain I can hurry in there and bring them right out, it has only been two hours since that....mishap, yes?" Luvia addressed, flossing a hand through her hair while a pair of scientist Mages from behind got to work and attached another Prismatic Harness to her body. Melloi quickly keyed a few commands onto the small terminal podium at his side, re-activating the Kaleidoscope as he beckoned for Luvia to get ready.

"Yes, even a minute in that place would be disastrous should they run into elements beyond human understanding. I don't want to entertain the idea that there are creatures of some kind in there or that they're trapped in Limbo where their souls are forever lost, though I don't think that is the case anyway. Shirou and Rin made contact with the other side of whatever world they arrived in just before we lost contact, Miss Edelfelt. We have everything set to bring you to their location and you must hurry and retrieve the two if you....happen to find them alive. You'll have no less than five minutes to do so, any longer and you may wind up trapped there as well. The Kaleidoscope's properties as an interdimensional gateway nexus are still unknown to us, that's how we lost Shirou and  Rin in the first place. We....never expected the Prismatic Harneses they each had to break." El Melloi explained, making Luvia nod with understanding as she walked up to the surface of the mystical portal with a smug smile on her face.

"Hmph, no matter, I'll clean up Tohsaka's mess and bring them both back here pronto, Headmaster. I owe her a rematch anyway and this may also further my standing with my beloved Shirou...! Ah....I can hardly wait to play 'Hero' right now.~" Luvia said with a wistful sigh of elation, making Melloi rub his forehead in slight annoyance as he took a few more steps back while the portal was priming up.

The surface of the Kaleidoscope became watery and transparent with flickering mots of light the size of marbles skidding across the view into the mystical void. All they could see was a swirl of mystical energies as one of the scientists gave the director the 'Go-Ahead' signal with a thumbs up, leading to El Melloi to give the signal to Luvia as she took a running mark.

"Go! Now...!" He let out and watched as the busty, haughty-natured blonde channeled some Magecraft energy into her legs to perform a high-speed start into the portal. She ran like an Olympic track runner and immersed herself in the watery, magical surface of the Kaleidoscope, disappearing in a large flash of mystical blue light.

She was gone in an instant and Melloi, to his relief saw that the prismatic harness tether was still attached to her from this side of the portal. The line was towing and moving slightly as it straightened out, meaning Luvia was still in their control as he waited patiently with a hand resting on his chin.

'Hmmm,  best of luck in there, Edelfelt. I don't even want to think about losing you too. If Shirou and Rin survived, and I'm fairly certain they did, then I'm sure at least one of them will be happy to see you. Still, I can't shake this feeling that something is going to go wrong again. And if we lost Edelfelt as well then....we're just canceling this project altogether and calling it a loss. I hope they're doing fine wherever they're at though.' El Melloi thought to himself when suddenly the monitor display panels all over the lab lit up with flashing red alert warning signs. Loud beeping, red flashing was happening all over as the Mage scientists scrambled to determine what the problem was now. "W-what's happening?! Report...! Don't tell me that the Harness's connection is rupturing again..!"

"I'm afraid so, sir. These readings are erratic, there's all kinds of unexplainable interference from the Portal's magical energy weakening its tension factor. It's going to disconnect within a few minutes, maybe a couple...max!" One female scientist let out, scrambling to try and amend the system's chaos with the harness control on Luvia Edelfelt's body. Melloi clicked his tongue and quickly swiped his right arm to the side, signaling the two Mage Scientists running the mystical mechanism to cut the connection.

"Dammnit, alright, we're pulling her out..! Right now..! Hurry and reel her in, boys! We only have many two minutes tops before we---!" Melloi was cut off and a bit of silence hung over the room when he saw what he dreaded to see happen for the second time today. His eyes went wide with slight horror when the mystical prismatic tether line attached to Luvia's body snapped and cut off right there at the portal just like with Shirou and Rin before. He felt the soul leave his body as he stared at the Kaleidoscope blankly with mild fury, wishing that he and the other Elder  Mages had the foresight to truly understand how dangerous Zeltritch's mysterious artifact was.

"Sir....? I'm...sorry, we lost the connection to Miss Edelfelt. She's on her own there now as well. We at least made contact with her arriving where the other two Mages arrived, but we cannot pull her back." One random mage scientist said with a bit of hesitation, watching the director walk over to pick up the prismatic cord from the cut end and hiss loudly in response.

"No...we lost another one, at least we know they're alive, but who knows how they're doing over there on the other world or...if we can ever bring them back to this one. Goddamnit...." Melloi cursed under his breath, wondering what Rin and Shirou were doing right now and if they had any kind of help from that other world on the off-chance that it wasn't a ruined wasteland version of theirs. 'I'm going to need to have a talk with the Council of Elders on this and see if maybe we should just cut our losses and stop here. I'd rather not, but I can't keep risking talented Mages to try and go into this other world to bring back our own. That accursed Zeltretch, just what kind of artifact of Magical Origin did he make when he built this thing?'

On the other side, within the second world where Rin and Shirou were thought to have been lost....

Located in a slightly lavish, man-made bunker home that was two stories tall and located inside of a lavish building that was now retrofitted by YoRHa to sustain life inside, Shirou Emiya slept soundly like a large Queen-sized bed with elegant white blankets covering his lower body but for a moment while he slept, two large human-sized shapes were crawling underneath the covers toward his lower half.
