That's EXACTLY what that scene was meant to convey/foreshadow.

2025-10-24 19:12:08 +0000 UTCOh, and I just remembered, there's a fun little piece of foreshadowing about Nadeko's character in Bake episode 11. In the scene where Araragi tries to touch Nadeko's bangs. She moves her head to avoid him. Then he flips her skirt, and she just accepts it. Pretty weird scene at the time. It isn't elaborated on at all, we just see it as Araragi being a pervert as usual. Now we can interpret it as Nadeko's mindset towards Araragi and herself. She's more okay with doing "sexual" and flirty things with him than letting him see behind her mask. I might be stretching things a bit here, but that's my current interpretation of that scene. I think it fits nicely with what we're being told in this arc.

2025-06-16 13:52:41 +0000 UTCAraragi is a VERY perceptive and intelligent character, as much as he tries to convince you otherwise. There's a lot of mental gymnastics he employs to ignore uncomfortable truths. Figuring out if he actually doesn't know something versus just choosing to look away from it is one of the most fun things to think about when watching and rewatching the show! Tsukihi is such a menacing existence. Interesting how Nesa said that she's very relatable. I think the opposite. She's almost inhuman in how "wise" she seems to be and how she ruthlessly cuts through the bullshit. I'm not at all surprised with the visuals during that confrontation with Nadeko, where Tsukihi looks like an actual monster (which she technically is).

2025-06-16 13:13:34 +0000 UTCNah I love Sengoku Nadeko the most. She's an INCREDIBLY layered and complex character that requires a good degree of empathy to appreciate I feel. Frankly, top 3 characters are 1. Ougi Oshino 2. Sengoku Nadeko 3. Kaiki Deishu

2025-06-14 10:09:59 +0000 UTCFrom Nadeko Snake, chapter 4: “Romantic entanglements are so damn scary,” I said. “But I wonder who Sengoku has a crush on. I’m a little jealous to know that someone out there is the object of that cute a girl’s affections.” Were this a rom-com manga, the love interest would turn out to be none other than me, but I highly doubted that was the case here. I was her “big brother” and nothing more. Brother and sister─ While I said I was jealous, I had a girlfriend, so of course, if Sengoku really did have feelings for me, it would just be a headache…" So yeah, Araragi did know. For certain reasons, he seems to be -> averting his eyes <-

2025-06-14 09:00:06 +0000 UTCSuch a recipee for guaranteed success. When the shy silent kid does the exact opposite, oof goated scene. And it's all thanks to tsukihi taking her out of her comfort zone through force. Also love the way they compliments her with "cute". Shinobu to me gave out the impression that she was being sarcastic about her being cute. While tsukihi really meant it in a nice way that nadeko is cute. But both knows that currently, she is "nothing but cute". Shinobu doesn't really care about it, deeming nadeko as a lost cause. While tsukihi cares about her and decided on her behalf to put an end to it. And boy we got the result of it, which is the nadeko that isn't only just cute. She got venom on those mouth bro, let loose all the insults that she kept undercover. Also araragi that madlad, casually stomping on nadeko's wish is one thing, but dude really use the body of a serpent god as a bookmark for his porn magazines.

2025-06-13 22:09:47 +0000 UTCSengoku's rant is such a fascinating way to display an emotional outburst. The walls that she normally keeps up so that she doesn't have to deal with her problems are forcibly torn down and she lets all of her true feelings out all at once. Props to Kana Hanesawa for getting a chance to show the true range of her acting this episode! Absolutely chilling performance
